"Fast and courtious on the 800 number because I had a question as to how many were available. Product arrived timely and in good shape. Shipping is reasonable. I have purchased their generic "Nashbar" products and have never had a complaint. If you bicycle, then Nashbar should be a place to consider."
"Great prices. Good and speedy service. Ordered on Mon and recieved items on Thurs. Products arrived in satisfactory state. Recommended."
"Very good service. Ordered a few times, items came in on time and well packed. After two years of using a cyclocomputer ordered from them, the unit dies - called customer service, asked for service. They replaced the unit at no cost - I had to pay the shipping of the defective one to them before they sent out the replacement."
"I placed an order on April 21st of this year. Two weeks later it had not arrived; I contacted Nashbar's customer service, who advised me to wait until 12 business days (the day after I called) had passed, otherwise they would report it as "lost." Sure enough, the package never arrived. I cancelled my order and requested a refund.
It appears that Nashbar has a couple of serious problems with their shipping system (aside from my shipment never showing up, that is). Firstly, they shipped it via USPS, with no tracking information of any kind. Secondly, their "account status" information on their website is not very detailed.
I'm not impressed with an outfit that pinches pennies by going el-cheapo on shipping. Plenty of places offer low-cost UPS or FedEx shipping options, and I don't think I've EVER had a problem with either of them "losing" a package. Shipping Parcel Post is simply a cheap and archaic method in this modern Internet shopping world. I have placed several orders with Nashbar over the years, but if they don't revamp their shipping process I doubt I'll be a customer in the future. "
"placed a large order of sale items with nashbar on 2-2-06. today is 3-1-06. i still have not received this order. nashbar contacted on 2-14-06. they advised that i had to wait 12 days. since then they have only been able to tell me that some items are out of stock and they have no idea where the first order is. It took them untill 2-24-06 to even trace the order. Now they blame the post office - even though they were told not to use the post office because they do not deliver to my street address- for not returning the packages yet. there trace showed that they were advised on 2-6-06 that the package could not be delivered, and yet never advised me that there was aproblem until i contacted them."
"Ordered an OnGuard Brute U-Lock on 9/29/05 at about 1-1:30 PM. Didn't ship out till next day on 9/30/05. Received approximately one (1) week later!?!? Ohio to New York 1 week? I've ordered stuff from California and received them in 5 days sometimes less! Ex: Newegg.com offers Fedex 2 or 3 day saver. Nashbar needs to do away with USPS parcel post completely(inability to track package) and start offering the consumers more shipping options. If they insist on keeping USPS, then at least offer USPS Priority mail. Other than this gripe the only complaint is that they don't offer "real time" inventory on their web site so you and i wouldn't know if an item is in stock or if it's on intergalactic backorder. Website is fairly easy to navigate through. But anyway those are my 2 pennies. Good Luck and beware! "
"Very good service. THis is the second time I ordered something from them. Delivered the order on time as listed date. Package is in good condition and the price is not the bad. Good actually when they have sales. Overall very statisfied with ordering with them."
"I always get an email confirmation when a web order is placed and another email indicating when the item was shipped. They DO use USPS which greatly limits your ability to track a shipment. They have a "no questions asked" return policy and I have even used a bicycle part for a month and had them accept it back for full credit. By all means, support your Local Bike Shop. But if you need something they don't have, go to www.nashbar.com! Footnote: Supergo, Performance Bikes, and Nashbar are all owned by the same folks."
"I got a good price with fast delivery on a Giro Havoc helmet, a WTB seat and some odds and ends. Plus they gave me a 20% off code. Couldn't ask for better. Great selection, too."
"Ordered a bike pump through amazon. Delivery was a bit slow(1 week) , but gave me confirmation emails and etc which made life easier for me."
"Ordered a pair of wheels late on the 14th - Lack of email to confirm the order or to indicate when the package was shipped was a little disconcerting.
CC was charged on the 17th so I'm asuming thats when they shipped as there was note from the USPO that they were availble to be picked up - although I didn't get them 'til today. I agree with other peoples comments that their communication/shipping processes are in need of improvement."
"Shipping is usually bad here (they are slow with notifying your shipments), but this time I went for 2 day shipping (had ordered by noon Wed 8/4 well before 4pm deadline), they didn't ship until 8/5 (1:30pm) so the order is not getting here by Fedex until 8/9. Had they packaged it like they said they would package would have been here 8/6 (what's the point of the 4pm cutoff if it takes them a whole 24hrs+ to ship). Why should I have bothered to get two day shipping. Ridiculous. you can get same prices at jensonusa or performancebike. Customer service also is poor, totally ignored my email to them about their shipping problem."
"I ordered a cateye computer, pedro bag, pump and some tire levers. The website is easy to use, and they have a big selection. Using 2nd day shipping, the order arrived on time. Great seller, highly recommend."
"I have had terrible luck ordering from their website. Prices are very different than their catalog and quantities are not up to date. Shipping takes at least a week. I also was charged the wrong sales tax (in Ohio). Of course it was higher than it should have been. When I called customer service they didn't have a clue how it was computed because they quoted the wrong rates and the wrong basis (merchandise plus S&H). When I asked how they figure this out the "customer service" rep said "Oh, I'll just mail you 45 cents." My last order to Nashbar until they figure out how to run a business. "
