"I just ordered a vacuum cleaner on December 20,2023. It’s now December 27,2023 still no vacuum that they never shipped. It’s been in the same spot for 7 days. Poor customer service skills, customer service rep emailed me but never responded back. So until I receive the vacuum or my money back they stole from me. You take money but can’t even ship the purchase merchandise. "

"Bissell used to mean QUALITY.
Now? Well since brick and mortar stores don’t seem to exist for Bissell anymore I bought a PowerFresh steam mop through Amazon.
I used to get down on my knees and scrub my kitchen and bathroom floors. Now with a terminal illness I am not well enough to clean this way. So I bought the Bissell steam mop with replaceable, washable cloth mop heads on Amazon...no retail stores here.
It is supposed to do ONE thing. Heats water in tank to steaming point by plugging in electric cord, then there are three buttons covered by plastic to give different levels of steam--That’s it! No moving parts. No off/on switch. I registered the product with Bissell online and while getting the model number 1940A noted it was “Made in China.”
It didn’t work! Sure it heated the water in tank (I followed EVERY step including using distilled water) but then the three “levels of steam” buttons didn’t work. I tried again and again..nothing. just felt that the lower tank was hot so outlet was OK. I called Bissell’s tech help number and got a rep whom I could barely understand as had such a thick accent and was NOT clear in what he was saying. He finally said “It doesn’t work. You need to cut off the full length of electrical cord, put it in an envelope or box, print return label, and arrange to have Fed-Ex pick it up.”
Can’t I get it repaired or fixed? It cost ~$100! No. Can I get a refund? No. You bought it online.
So now I am going to make this cheap piece of plastic completely inoperable by cutting off cord! No repair? Just throw it away? We have become a throw away country...overwhelmed with cheap plastic from China.
Called Fed-Ex for pick up of a box with Fed-Ex Ground shipping label. ANOTHER phone rep with a thick foreign accent. GREAT trouble communicating. FINALLY was told--“Leave package on front porch. November 21, Monday--driver would be there 8 am to 8 pm--which meant I couldn’t leave as afraid someone would steal it if my car wasn’t in driveway. By 10 pm--BOX STILL ON FRONT PORCH! I called Fed-Ex--“Oh all drivers have gone home. We’ll “try again Tuesday 8am to 8 pm!” More waiting at home.
Tuesday Nov. 22, by 2 pm, NO pickup--called Fed-Ex--AGAIN got another rep with thick foreign accent--kept asking if I wanted to set up a date for pick-up! NO! I want THIS package picked up..now. Couldn’t understand him and he couldn’t understand me! Asked for supervisor. Finally a person whom I could understand! She said that Fed-Ex ground does NOT pick up on Mondays! Why was I given Monday??? “Maybe he’s new.” Got picked up after this rep called the driver...around 5:30 pm.
NOW I’m getting emails from Bissell telling me to take picture of serial number and pic of cut off cord--then Fed-Ex wouldn’t be needed! Package ALREADY picked up! PLUS I have no idea how to take a pic and send it to a number!
Got ANOTHER email--don’t throw away “tools” from first mop..What tools? I could NOT understand what “Maria” was trying to tell me! So I guess I’m getting another steam mop or whatever!???????
1) Bissell needs to make a quality product THAT WORKS here in the USA!
2) If they sell online they should cover that product!
3) I am SICK of cheap plastic junk made in China--a throw away society. No moving parts--plug in, steam, then push a level of steam button--that’s ALL and it didn’t work!
4) Cutting off the cord is such a waste--REPAIR YOUR PRODUCTS! Now I have to wait until cord gets to Bissell then they will send me ANOTHER piece of cheap Chinese plastic! How will I know THIS time whether it will even work??
Do NOT buy Bissell. Period!"
