"I have been buying the products from Bits du Jour for years, it was the first time when I have to return an item. The support was great. Bruce Wayne was very prompt in responding except at the end when it went completely radio silent. But then he came back and credited my account for the purchase price. Overall, I am very satisfied with the service.

"Great place to get good prices on some known and lessor known good software.
Mostly windows but some vendors have both a win and mac version of their software.
"
"Great place to find some mainstream software and lots of more specialized software.
Lots of offers from software vendors around the world. Many that are lesser known vendors, and many from Europe and Asia. Not just the US.
I've gotten software deals as cheap as 90% off on a specialized database migration/translation package that saved literally days in migrating. [Note: BDJ now has a 100% off deal almost everyday, like GAOTD does]
Pros:
- discounts up to 90% off, during most offer days. Average discount more in the 50% to 60% range.
- many days they offer at least 1 offer that is 100% off.
- payments usually setup to work with paypal
- delivery is fast, via download
Cons:
- Unless you are having website purchasing issues and add a comment to the thread on that days offer, you are limited to just 24 hours in which to purchase that days offer.
[occasionally vendors will let an offer run an extra day or two, but NEVER assume that will happen]
- if you want a physical media delivery, it is sometimes availble but usuallly not. The times it is available is when the vendor sells through a major software distributor and the payment processor offers a BACKUP CD at an additional cost.
Comments:
Years ago BDJ would send out an email on like Sun night or Mon AM, listing the offers for the ENTIRE UPCOMING WEEK. This was a GREAT PRACTICE on their part, as it gave prospective buyers a chance to download and TEST software of interest.
They have CHANGED to listing only prospective UPCOMING offers, for about 24 to 48 hours, in no particular order.
So potential buyers now have ONLY a day, maybe two, in which to download and test a piece of software. [Not nearly enough time, IMHO]
So for that policy change I was truly tempted to knock off a ratings star or two.
BDJ says that their vendors have requested that change. So it's hard to knock BDJ for what is change driven by their sotware vendors.
But I also think that software vendors need to understand that BUYERS play an important role in the business model. Without any sales, where would that software vendor be? [unless that seller already has a large customer base, like enterprise sales and is simply trying to expand their consumer sales base]
There needs to be a balance between seller and buyer demands."
"Bitsdujour recently had a promotion for software named STDL. I've used the software and, in the comments section, complained about the pricing structure and upgrade policies. My comments were to share my experience and views of the software being promoted. My detailed comments were removed and the company inserted a caveat into the comments section that: "Please note that all comments for this promotion will be screened before posting. It's nothing personal, just a step we have to take because of a few bad apples last time around." Apparently, they are now screening comments for this software, presumably to exclude any critical comments (such as mine) that advise consumers of problems with the software pricing structure. It seems that they are manipulating the comments so that potential buyers only see positive comments. "
