Questionable business practice or Bloomex business model

"“Frankly, that should be -1 star.
Bloomex is, at best, below mediocre and, at worst, a predatory business.
I ordered a gift basket from Bloomex to be delivered on April 30. Since the order wasn’t delivered and it was showing as “updated”, I called the Bloomex and was told that the driver returned the order to the warehouse. Their story is that the recipient wasn’t home. The recipient’s story is that he was. Whether the Bloomex lied because they committed to more orders than they could deliver or their driver lied because he stopped to get a cup of coffee is irrelevant and certainly not something that a customer should pay for.
So, I ‘be requested the full refund from Bloomex as the terms of our agreement were not met.
Bloomex offered to deliver it some other day in the future (on a slow business day, probably). No other date would work for me, or for the recipient. They also offered a store credit, which is a common pressure tactic - it forces the wronged consumer to continue to do business with a business with which they are unhappy.
I insisted to get a refund instead and Bloomex replied that they couldn’t do that as per their store policy.
The Consumer Protection Act trumps any store policy. NEVER LET A BUSINESS GET AWAY WITH A STORE CREDIT! You are entitled to a full refund every time the store false advertises, doesn’t meet their obligations, or you are not happy with their service or quality of the purchased goods. Consumer Protection Act protects you and your money whatever the store’s petty store policy is. :)
As Bloomex didn’t meet their end of the agreement and I had never agreed to any other delivery date, we’ve reached an impasse. Therefore, I submitted a number of complaints against their unfair business practices.
Think about it - If Bloomex didn’t refund an unfulfilled order, they de facto stole the X amount of $$ from me. If they get away with it, what stops them from incorporating such practice into their business model and stealing from others too?
Bloomex business practices are borderline criminal.

Extremely Dissatified and Unacceptable Service

"I am utterly disappointed with the service provided by Bloomex in relation to my order #4314197. Despite placing the order six days in advance and paying for premium delivery charges with a specific request for delivery on February 14th before 11:00 am, the flowers were not delivered on time. In fact, they were delivered after office hours, completely ruining the special day I had planned. To make matters worse, Bloomex.ca has falsely claimed that I refused to accept the flowers, despite there being no one in the office to accept the delivery.

The fact that Bloomex not only failed to acknowledge their mistake but also refused to refund my payment is simply unacceptable. The money is of secondary concern to me; what truly disappoints me is the lack of accountability and the attempt to shift blame onto me. Offering credit in this situation is not a solution. I will not hesitate to contact my credit card company to stop the payment, and I will provide them with all communication related to this order.

I urge all future customers to exercise caution and reconsider placing their trust in Bloomex.ca / Bloomex words, as the service I received falls far below acceptable standards.

Gave them a chance to redeem themselves and they burned me again...

"USE YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY TO GET A REFUND!!!!
By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced, (twice).....I made the mistake of giving this company a second chance and they did me wrong again....First time was a "SUPERSIZE" bouquet of Roses and Calla Lilies for Valentine's day, paid extra for delivery on that day and low and behold, Happy Valentine's day delivery on the 12th of Feb....wrong flowers, no calla lilies and 6 pathetic dying red roses including one that was broken in half, (see pictures). Contacted the company they refused to give me my money back...only a store credit would be provided....I contacted my credit card company and they refunded my purchase without question.

Second experience I ordered the same bouquet and this time paid extra to get it on the 14th, and paid a premium on top of that to get it between 9 and 12 on the 14th because that was our availability.....low and behold I get a Purolator notification on the 12th telling me roses will be here on the 13th.....but of course nobody will be here, they will freeze and be dead by the time we get them....contacted customer service by phone and by chat, phone I could not understand what they were saying so I went to chat where they kept asking for my order number even though I had provided it, then transferred me to someone different, who tried to help but was handcuffed by poor customer service policies....she put me on hold for 15 minutes and then likely was too embarrassed to give me the bad news so terminated the chat without warning. They emailed me stating they received my email, (but I never sent an email to them)....and it stated:

Our policy for last-minute orders specifies a delivery range from February 13th to February 15th, as stated in our confirmation email and on our website. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee delivery on a specific date within this range. To ensure your satisfaction, we'd like to offer a store credit on your Bloomex account. Please let us know if you'd like us to apply this credit.

Problem with this is it was not a last minute order, I checked my confirmation email and there was no mention of what they are stating, (likely because it was not a last minute order) and also why would I pay 2 premium fees to have my delivery on the 14th before noon?

It appears as though I will need to once again rely on my credit card company to trump their horrible customer service policies.

Good luck if you try to use this company, I know I will never use them again....fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

Ordered received 5 days late!!

"Sent a deluxe bouquet for a family member passing. Ordered jan 31- finally received order feb 5th!! Are the flowers even alive and beautiful as promised?? Not sure im embarrassed to even ask! I ordered vase for some reason it wasnt on my order so they received a box ..so **** off. Family member already cremated and they get flowers 5 days later??? Never again! $100 for boxed flowers that are probably already dead by the time they were delivered!"

Never Again

"I wrote a positive review on December 9 when I ordered an arrangement for my friends birthday today. All went smooth, money taken order received. Well today it is now 3 pm and customer service is telling me she may not receive arrangement before 8pm. Customer service was of no assistance and could not even tell me where my purchase is at this time. I normally deal with weekly flowers and if I would have stayed with them my friend would have flawlessly had her birthday gift by noon. I will never again use Bloomex, far below good customer service. Yet my money was easily taken on the spot. Do NOT use this company. Vonda Conlin"

ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE

"Order 4122028

This company DOES NOT RESPOND if you have an issue . My recipient of flowers died and immediately wrote to them to cancel and refund my order. I provided an obituary to them! . They haven’t even acknowledged my request /email. Then I had someone call then because I’m out of the country to request the same .. they said “oh yeah, we will get back to her’ without providing any conclusion or refund . I wrote them another email .,.still nothing.
DO NOT BUY FROM THESE UNCARING UNRESPONSIVE SCAMMERS WHO WILL TAKE YOIR MONEY and CARE NOTHING FOR YOUR REQUESTS OR COMMUNICATION. Their reviews are this low rates for a reason!!!!

Scam

"Wish I had read the reviews earlier. Ordered a sympathy package, fresh flowers, to be delivered on Monday for a family, however, came Tuesday no delivery so I contacted bloomex, they said it would be fixed for delivery the next day, Wednesday I tracked and contacted them again, they made excuses that the 3rd party, Purolator courier couldn’t deliver to that area. I was beyond disappointed and told them I paid for the shipping to bloomex, I wouldn’t deal with any 3rd party whatsoever and I requested for a refund. Instead I received an email telling me that the order had been forwarded to the delivery with tracking number linked to fedex but couldn’t be available. But I tracked Purolator with the number only to find out that order had been all over the places and ended up at Canada post office to be picked up. At this point I am not expecting any flowers would be fresh and it’s upsetting to have someone just lost the loved one to pick up dead flowers. Their management team seems to be cowardly to make a call but just kept sending emails to repeat the customer satisfaction ironically. Just wanted to warn others to avoid spending your hard earned money to be rewarded with this frustration, insults."

Scam company

" I was trying to order flowers on Bloomex website. You have to enter your payment information prior to selecting the address for the delivery. After I entered the credit card info I had a bad feeling so erased the delivery information on the next page. I then tried to back up to the previous page and it wouldn't let me. I never confirmed the transaction or provided a delivery address. I then looked at reviews stating people have been scammed by this. I then received a call from Bloomex trying to complete the order by getting the address. I refused and stated I was not interested in completing the order. They then told me they would be moving forward with charging me or issue me a credit. I hadn't even confirmed the order! They said as soon as I enter credit card info I have completed the order.... ummm you just said you needed an address to complete the order.... I asked to escalate it to a manager and was refused. I was told they were doing me a courtesy LOL I insisted on speaking to a manager and was told I can call back when I decide to have it delivered but in the meantime the transaction will be charged. I am disputing currently with RBC and MC. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!"

Bloomex is terrible!

"I ordered from online - then the next day at 8:42 they contacted me to see if they could be substituted because they didnt have the Cala lilies available. I called back at 8:43 and said no that they held a special meaning please cancel my order - he said OK. Then 10 minutes later he contacted me back to say they were already processed and on the truck for delivery!! Um the flower shops dont even open until 10!!! there is no way they were on a truck! Not impressed and I will never order again from them .... "

A Very Late & Upsetting Experience During a Difficult Time!!!

"I ordered flowers for my sister-in-law who was having surgery out of town in Hamilton for her cancer, and the experience was not good, and the flowers she finally received were nothing like I ordered for her; flowers I am anyone would be embarrassed sending to a loved one.
My brother-in-law sent me a photo of the flowers that I ordered on March 4th, which she received 3 days late at the hospital.
I was told that they did same day delivery, and that is why I elected to go with this company.
The flowers that she received did not come in a vase either like I paid for, and they were much smaller than in the photo on their website; flower that you would get from your local grocery store for $12.00.
I am so upset about this experience, very embarrassed;, and would like to warn others not to purchase flowers from this company.
This has been a very horrible experience during such a difficult time for our family.

Refusal to honour guarantees, misrepresented product, bait-and-switch practices

"On Friday, Feb 24, I ordered a 'guaranteed' birthday delivery for Saturday, Feb 25 and three days later, received absolute rubbish.

Bloomex is closed on Sunday so I called on the next business day, Monday, Feb 27. Because the flowers still hadn't arrived and the birthday had already passed, I asked them to cancel the order and issue a refund. That's when I was told the order was in transit. I did not receive an email indicating that the order was in transit. The status changed suddenly when I asked for a refund.

Before the order was accepted, someone from Bloomex contacted me by phone to confirm the delivery address, which would have been the perfect time to let me know that the delivery would not be delivered on time (despite the "guaranteed birthday delivery" promised on their website). I would have immediately cancelled the order. Instead, the information was withheld.

The flowers were delivered three days late, on Feb 28. What was ordered (Blue Horizons "supersize" — the website show eight roses, star gazer lilies, irises, premium fillers) was a far cry from what was received (four roses, a shabby batch of badly-dyed carnations and cheap filler). There is nothing on the website suggesting that "fair and appropriate substitions" in their most extravagant pricing option would result in fewer flowers and trashy ones at that. Neither does the website mention that specials will not be honoured outside of their "local" delivery zones (again, no indication of said zones). Though far less of an issue, but just as misleading, they charged $10 for "authentic Scottish shortbread" that turned out to be two very thin cookies.

It took five attempts before I received any response from Bloomex and they refused to refund my money, instead offering credit that I would presumably use for more bad service and rubbish flowers at some future date.

PLEASE NOTE Bloomex "buys" ratings by offering a $20 credit for positive reviews.
