Absolute Trash

"First off, they charge WAY over value for their stones. I could easily match any stone they have on their site with the same GIA ratings for cheaper at another vendor, give it a try you'll find it's ridiculously easy to beat their pricing.

So today I tried to get some sterling silver pieces as a gift for my wife.

Only once I placed an order did it tell me that my credit card didn't work, my Blue Nile credit card that is.
I know I have a $0.00 balance so I called the bank and apparently Blue Nile reported fraud for absolutely no reason and had my account closed last year. Even the fraud rep on the phone was completely confused as to what they were doing and why.

Blue Nile customer service was very rude when I tried to inquire why and basically said I'll have to re apply for a new card. I certainly won't re apply and let them put a hard inquiry on my credit to fix their mistake!
Their prices are too high, customer service is rude and they don't keep their word on anything.
You would literally be better off buying from some Etsy page in a foreign country than trying to work with this horrendous organization, even a random individual on Ebay will be a better option.

NEVER AGAIN!!!

"From a company like Blue Nile I would never expect such a bad behaviour like we experienced when buying a pink diamond.
We have bought a pink diamond from their shop and without even notifying they cancelled our booking. After some days I checked the tracking and it said that the purchase was cancelled. After some attempts I was forwarded to a lady that was, indeed friendly and helpful, but did give us the wrong information. She said that the diamond was already sold and that it was a tecnical issue we could buy it at all. They did not offer any discount or anything and as a substitute they did not offer diamonds that were comparible to the diamond we bought. After some days we saw the EXACTLY SAME DIAMOND online again at the much higher price. After calling the support again they told us that the price was wrong and that their supplier decided to not ship it. LUYING TO CUSTOMERS AND TRICKING THEM IS ALWAYS A BAD BEHAVIOUR! From a big company like Blue Nile and their suppliers I would expect much more professionality. Will never buy again because you never know if you will really get your diamond or not!!!

Watch out GIA certificate charge in return

"Returned a diamond with everything including GIA certificate, yet I was told that it was missing from the return. Very suspicious for the $150 potential charge. Why would buyer keep GIA certificate when return a diamond? I requested viewing video clip, but it took weeks, and I still did not get a replacement diamond, and neither no one confirms why it was missing upon delivery. I recommend using rarecarat website https://www.rarecarat.com/ before your final order and avoid return. I asked Bluenile to refund if I cannot get my diamond in next week."

Buyer Beware: Blue Nile Will Screw You

"They have nice diamonds, sure. But do you really want to do business with a company who dupes its customers?

They're "interest-free" credit card is not a credit card. It's a loan. If you don't pay the full balance by the end of your term, they will charge you interest on the total amount throughout the term.

The end of my term occurred over my wedding and honeymoon. I knew I was late but had more important things to worry about. I figured one month's worth of interest on $7500 isn't that much.

You can imagine my surprise when a $4400 interest charge appeared the next month.

And that's when I discovered the fine print that the sales rep did not tell me about and is not found anywhere on their payment website.

They put it on their statements. Really? Who reads actual statements these days? When I wrote to their CEO Jason Goldberger with some feedback on how nefarious this appears, I got a note back from the Sr. Director of customer relations who essentially said, "Sorry. You should have read the terms. Not our problem."

If you're going to drop a bunch of money on an engagement ring, do it from a jewelry or another online diamond retailer.

Blue Nile clearly does not care about their customers. Do you really want to make a purchase that big and important from a company and CEO like that?

BEAUTIFUL Diamond at an Amazing Price!

"It makes me very sorry to see all the poor experiences other people had, my experience was amazing! Granted, I didn't deal with any customer service, but I ordered a .5ct F IF Oval diamond ring which I had seen in the 360 view on the website and it was even more beautiful in person. Would never have been able to afford that quality or find that shape in stores. I also loved the setting I found, which was the main reason I chose Blue Nile as I hadn't seen anything like it anywhere else (petite cathedral in yellow gold). Very happy with my product, went back to order a necklace for my future sister-in-law.

But it does seem like Blue Nile vets their on website reviews as I haven't found a way to leave a review directly on their site.

The reviews on here seem like competitor plants

"My experience with BN has been nothing but positive, ordering both an engagement ring and a wedding band. Their prices are orders of magnitude below high street shops (which generally operate at a 300% profit margin, something BN clearly do not). The engagement ring was a custom (i.e. I chose the stone and the band separately) and arrived very quickly, just as described and was about £75% cheaper than a high street equivalent from a well known jeweller.
I've had to return the band twice due to me not getting the size right. The first time I wore it for a couple of weeks before deciding that it was just too big, and they accepted the return with no quibbles. They sent a replacement, which I found too small, which has been sent back and they are sending out the replacement again (all for free other than my costs to return the rings to them).
I have found their service to be great all round. I simply cannot relate to any of the negative experiences on here, although frankly, leaving a 1 star review due to a delay for a resize is ridiculous. Either these people are entitled ignoramuses or there is something fishy going on.

Deceitful and unethical

"I purchased a $25,000 diamond ring from BN in December 2017. The diamond had a high definition video of it on their website. This video was of a white, sparkling, stunning and perfect stone. Because of that video, I bought that diamond. When I received the ring, I was shocked! The diamond was dull and gray and ugly! When I contacted customer service, the rep was condescending, rude and should not be working in that department. Blue Nile didn't even have a manager reach out to me. Yes, I was able to return the ring, but I wasted hours and hours of time dealing with this and Blue Nile does not care.

Buy diamonds from a jeweler in a local store. You need to see them in person.

Awful buyback

"They recommended Mondiamo for buyback. They gave me a range telling me they'd pay even more when they see the diamond. I still had the GIA report and they confirmed that the diamond was not damaged. They ended up paying me less than 30% of what I originally paid them. So unfair way of tricking me to send them the diamond... "

Horrible repair service

"I set my ring back to Blue Nile to repair. They said it should take as maximum as 15 days. It is more than 15 days. They can't find status of my ring. They only told me that it has been received. I sent this ring 3 weeks ago. They also told me now they have a long line, it will take 4 weeks, and that they are not able to check on status of the repair. Do not use their service! I am asking to receive my ring back at least int he same condition. Julia"

They will try to get out of their warranty any way they can!

"There products are of terrible quality and the customer service is not much better. After buying pearl earrings for my girlfriend, it took less than 6 months for the pearls to fall off the studs. After contacting their customer service they tried to blame it on me that we must have taken them In The shower or gone jogging with them to cause this??? This was not the case so the best they could do was make me pay for return shipping and for them to fix it. After sending in and getting it back the pearls have fallen off AGAIN not even 3 months after. After calling customer service again, they did everything they could to get out of this warranty issue saying it's been too long since I've purchased them (even though they have a lifetime warranty on their products) and that the damage was because of normal wear and tear (they have been minimally used and have proven twice within a year). The best offer they could give me was 25% on a similar purchase which is a slap in the face considering my opinion on their quality is at 0% at this point. I argued with their representative until they said they would talk to management and give me a call back. I still haven't received that call back yet. Avoid this company! They blame you for their shotty quality and try to get out of their warranty anyway possible. They do not stand behind their products and their so called "amazing" customer service will only waste your time and give you the run around. "

Great deal, great service

"I ordered a beautiful, high quality diamond and that is exactly what I got. Gorgeous diamond that looks absolutely fantastic in my existing setting at a price that couldn't be beat. The delivery was lightning-fast, exactly as I expected, since my daughter's engagement main diamond came from there as well several years ago and they also had a wonderful experience with the buy. "

Amazing Experience

"I am totally impressed with Blue Nile's service! I am really shocked that Blue Nile has bad reviews on this site.
I ordered my fiance's wedding band yesterday at 6:00 PM, and the ring was on my door step at 9:04 AM this morning.
Shipping confirmation stated the ring would areive today, but I was a bit skeptical. What makes if more incredible is that shipping was free!
This is an unreal conpany. The ring looks fantastic, and it was beautifully packed.
I would recommend Blue Nile to anybody!
Now I can't wait for my fiancé to try on his wedding band!

Do Not trust shipping promises

"A promised overnight delivery magically became a weeks' lead time after the purchase. Beware of bait and switch companies. Based on the explanation given to me, the diamonds you are supposedly viewing to purchase aren't likely to even be in stock or the ones they will supply. Unbelievably frustrating experience. "

bait and switch

"I ordered a diamond for a custom ring from Blue Nile. Two days later I received an email stating that the diamond I ordered was unavailable. They offered 3 other smaller diamonds of similar grade for 200 dollars more than the original order. Seems like a "bait and switch" tactic. Buyer beware."

Use Amazon instead - or you'll be sorry.

"Ordered plain wedding bands on 12-20. Blue Nile (BN) promised delivery on 1-11. 20 days! But since I was in no hurry, I waited. No show on 1-11. Called them. What a surprise, the box was right in front of her going out that day. Ok, I am a patient man. Two days later the wedding bands (plain old traditional bands, no diamonds, no pattern) showed up. Alas the womans rings would not work for us. So, they claim a 30-day return policy.
I began the RMA process. Sent one of the rings back at my expense. The whole process to get a credit on my VISA took 22 more days.
Horrible communication. Just a "Don't give a crap" (IMHO) company.
I will use Amazon next time and every time after this. Prices were the same but I thought BN must be a good company and they SHOULD have better quality control and customer service than some of the AMAZON vendors.
I would have save a little money but a lot of time and stress had I ordered from Amazon in the first place. They had the identical rings!
Live. Learn. Remember.
