"They tried to help me but unfortunately due to their policies and advice they have cost me over $1100 which is directly their fault. From wrong quotes for a simple dome to failure to contact me regarding shipping issues they cause I recommend you don't use Bluewater photo."
"I needed a 5D Mark III housing for my upcoming hawaii trip, and Bluewater had great information on their site about the housing choices. I wasn't sure which lens to use, so I called them and spoke with Mark and Vijay who were very helpful. I'll definitely be back to Bluewater when I need more underwater photo gear."
"Sometimes you do business with a place for a long time without realizing how much they have added to your enjoyment of UW photography. I'm belatedly thinking Bluewater Photo deserves a shout out, based on their years of service and advice to me.
About five years ago I had a question on a diopter lens. I called Bluewater Photo and spoke to Scott Geitler, the owner. He was helpful, the price was right, so I ordered it for my wife and she's taken lot's of sharp photos with it.
It might have ended there, certainly lot's of places to purchase equipment from. However, the more I was on Scott's websites, the more it became obvious that Bluewater Photo and his "UW Photography Guide" (UWPG) were unique and directly appealed to my photo background.
I used to manage a camera store (film based), then I used to teach photography. Bluewater Photo is run the way you would treat a friend or colleague. They keep it real, have in-water experience with what they sell and they deliver on what they say.
The UWPG website informs but doesn't lecture or get pompous. Novice or advanced pro, the wealth of topics, hints and suggestions on this site are always expanding. If you do have questions you can get an education there or just a quick answer.
UWPG is a real public service to dive photographers with their tutorials and product reviews but divers in general benefit from the dive travel information and trip planning Bluewater Travel offers.
The annual UWPG "Ocean Art Photo Competition" is a showcase of great images, worth checking out just to marvel at past winners. And the Bluewater photo workshops? Take one. Take many. I did an Anilao workshop in 2012 with Scott, Mike Bartick and Crystal Blue Resort. Seems I make use of what was presented on almost every dive.
Alas, nothing is perfect. It has come to my attention that Scott hasn't been providing donuts at store meetings. What? C'mon Scott, your crew is certainly worth a couple Dunkin donuts! (And no, I'm not being bribed with a friiter or an Old Fashioned to say all this.)
Thanks Gang, great doing business with you. // George Jolokai"
"I purchased an Olympus camera from Bluewater Photo and was impressed by their courteous and efficient service. With so many e-retail outlets on line, it is a pleasure to know of a store that truly values its customers. I recommend them highly."
"I recently bought my compact setup from the folks at Bluewater Photo. They were extremely helpful over the phone. The guys I spoke with were well-known u/w photographers who knew what they were talking about, so I felt very comfortable with their recommendations based on my budget. It can be a bit overwhelming when you're only getting info from the forums. I also realized that they're in Santa Monica and plan to check out some of their photo classes and boat trips.
I"m extremely happy with my camera and the customer service I received, and recommend Bluewater Photo to everyone, from first camera to pro."
"Highly appreciate their work and attitude to us - their customers. They are not only a retailers or re-sellers but a "good friend advisors" for underwater photogs, whose opinion You can trust. Special thanks to Scott Gietler!"
"Great selection of products. I was impressed by the service and helpfulness of the staff in making my purchases. I would buy again!"
"I ordered a complete Recsea S95 setup from Bluewater Photo. Scott was very knowledgeable about all the options and helped my choose the right strobe, macro lens and wide angle lens. Everything shipped promptly and they even spent time giving me some photo tips for using the setup. Overall a big thumbs up! I can't wait to get my gear in the water in Fiji in 2 weeks."
