"In May, 2009 I purchased a Cybook Gen3 book reader through Books on Board.
I bought this as a gift and since the day it was opened it was kept in the case provided and has never been dropped or damaged in any way.
Recently, the recipient of this gift called me to tell me the display had frozen and she was no longer able to use the device to read books. When I went up to see if I could reset it or otherwise get it working I observed the display was showing digital horizontal lines across the lower half of the screen and that in the lower right corner it appeared as if there was a digital page turn. At this time I observed no scratches or cracks in the screen and was quite puzzled. I performed a reset and even went as far as removing the battery. The display never changed.
I contacted the support department and sent them a high resolution photo to show the display. Fully expecting them to tell me they would stand behind your product and fix it under warranty they informed me that they could see the screen was cracked or otherwise broken and that they would not fix it without charge.
After several exchanges they said they'd send the high resolution picture to Bookeen in France and they'd get back to me, it's been 2 weeks and I've yet to hear from them.
I would not buy this or any product from this retailer, I find their customer service severely lacking."
