"For twenty years I have purchased plants from Brecks. Our property is called Daffodil Hill so most purchases were daffodils. Last year decided to try some other plants such as roses and dahlias. Poor quality and while they refunded some money after photos sent, lost year of dahlias. This year, getting senile, I ordered elephant ears, dahlias, calladium,and lillies. Shared with Garden Friends, and someone asked if I got them at Walmart on discount table. Usually get calladium from Calladium World, usually good size bulbs. Brecks was size of a quarter! Elephant ears will probable not grow, but the fright was dahlias. Small tubers from main root, were shriveled or broken off completely. I sent photos and requested an additional hundred dollar plus order be cancelled. WHAT has happened to quality control. I am in my mid 70's, grew up gardening with Mother. I truly have never seen such poor stock, regardless of the elevated price. This was a Company one could trust, now gone down the sewer. BUYER beware."

All were shipped on time in good condition.
All came up as advertised and added joy and colour to our gardens in southern Ontario.
They naturalized as promised and we are most safisfied and happy with their prices and service. "
"Tulip and lily bulbs have always been excellent. All tulip bulbs bloom first season and are exquisite. Some do not come back next season (even WOW extra large bulbs) but that is because annuals were planted on top during the summer. In future annuals will be planted in pots. I have lilies from 8 years ago that still bloom and daffodils planted in 2015 that still come up. The Red Winged Butterfly Glads were not what I received in 2010, but Breck’s replaced them in 2011 and for 7 years they have come up faithfully and beautifully. I wish the were still available. In 2017 I ordered nearly identical Atom Glads from another nursery. I would completely recommend Breck’s for bulbs."
"I live in California and ordered 2 Dahlia bulbs in mid March 2018. A few days later I got an Email that they were shipped pn 19 March. FedEx tracking showed they were awaiting a shipping label at the warehouse for over 2 weeks. I started call8ng and wss yold in a few days. then by 10 April. then By 12th April. Never arrived, DONT BUY FROM BRECKS TOTAL RIPOFF."

Consistently, their plants do not come back the next year even though they are supposed to be perennials. Even their tulips don't come up nothing come up! and there customer service is not helpful at all."
"Ordered $40 worth of bulbs last fall and planted. Not one came up. When I called to get a refund as
they advertise, I got a "lecture" on planting. At 73 years old and using for many years, I really don't need
their lecture. I restated I just wanted my refund check and was informed it could not be processed until
after a month. So what is this?? I am out my money for almost 6 months and have no product. I will
never order again - not because the bulbs didn't sprout but because of their lousy customer service. Do
yourself a favor and buy like from Home Depot."
"I ordered a plant for my girlfriend in North Carolina as a birthday gift. . . she received it with two of the three bulbs outside of the container and all the dirt was all over. She has had the gift for about two weeks and nothing has grown yet. When I called to complain, the woman wanted to give me a $5 coupon, then it went up to $10, $20. They actually credited my account but I will never order from this company again. When I tried to advise them that their shipping department needs to be better, she was quick to get me off the phone. I wished I had checked out the other reviews before I placed my order - never again."
"I placed a Christmas order on November 1 and on December 11th I was told they were out of stock so my friends wouldn't be receiving their gift! Not happy...how can that happen when you place the order and they are in stock, it's time to ship, and they've over sold your item, so guess what, you lose out! Will never use Breck's again, I suggest you don't either. Customer service had little to say other than sorry, no replacement offered, no good explanation given."
"I ordered Amaryllis bulbs for Christmas gifts. I provided 5 addresses, I was charged shipping for 5 addresses, but all bulbs were shipped to one address - mine. I spoke with customer service 3 times. They would not take responsibility for the error. They offered a shipping credit to cover the incorrect charge, but did nothing to ship bulbs to the addresses I provided. They also did not offer refund for the 4 additional bulbs I received. I don't need 6 amaryllis bulbs, especially at 28.00 per bulb. I will never order from here again!"
"I placed two orders on 11/12/17; one with Breck's and one with another bulb company. I received my order from the other company within a few days. With Breck's, I got an email a day later saying that one of the items I had ordered was out of stock (of course, this was the item that I really wanted and it was not out of stock when I placed the order and gave them my credit card info). Then, it took until today to get the order. Alas, when I opened the package, I only received one of the two bulb sets I ordered. When I called to have them ship the missing item, they said they were out of stock.
Clearly, their inventory system is completely inadequate to track anything. I have also had issues in past years with the quality of the bulbs and having them actually come up in the Spring. I tried again this Fall because they had a beautiful blue hyacinth that I wanted - the item that was out of stock.
The catalog shows beautiful flowers, but don't be deceived. This company is a mess. There are many vendors out there who do so much better."
"I placed a large order to plant in the fall. They changed the shipping date multiple times (now stating it won't ship until winter.) So I ask their representative if the bulbs can be planted in frozen ground, he replies "no". So I ask if they can be planted in the Spring since they will be shipped in the winter, he replies "no". Well then why the hell take my order in the first place if you cannot fill it?? I could have ordered from another company! I got refunded but am extremely upset."
"I was browsing the website and added a few items to the cart and left them to research elsewhere. I got a promo email and when I went to use it, the price of things in my cart DOUBLED! Literally double, some more. The promo code didn't even come close to covering the artificial high prices. I had the non-promo code cart up in another browser tab and could easily compare. Totally shady company, avoid at all costs!"
"I placed a small order, when it finally came I was unable to get things planted, because of back surgery. I was not surprised when I did get to plant them they were dried up. I placed another order for $115.00 I am gradually getting what I ordered, but the bulbs are not coming up. They were planted exactly as instructed, I keep watching, but nothing. They still owe me a clematis vine, which they keep pushing the time ahead further and further. Every time I check it's been moved ahead a week or two. The 2 vines I did receive are so scrawny, the chances of them actually surviving are slim. I'm sorry I didn't check their references before I ordered. Never again."
" I ordered bulbs back in September of 2016, and paid my bill as soon as I received it. It is now March 27,2017 and I am still getting billed after five months of trying to get this resolved. I have I had my bank fax a copy of the canceled check twice now . They cashed my check on October 20, 2016 and they have no record ??? Really? I will never order from this company again and would like others to be warned !"
"My advice: Buy local. If not--Keep track of your order with this company. I had to email, call and online chat to get someone to give me answers. They basically took the money and sent out an email saying it shipped, then I never received anything. When I called two months later (I was trying to be patient because the website said there were delays), they said they were out of stock. They did refund my money, but if I hadn't kept track of the order I probably would have never noticed. So...be careful.
Also, they operate under a few names/companies so you can check those out online at the BBB website. The reviews aren't great. I wish I had read them first."
