"I actually placed and canclled an order when they called me and tried to rip me off.
I did a Froogle Search for an SD700. They had a great price, and I ordered it. Then, they called me and told me the camera was foriegn, and did not include the basic things that come with a camera, and wanted to charge me exponentially larger prices for assessories that normally come with the camera.

Note, the ad does not even say it's not a US camera, and they are in Brooklyn.

"After a long wait, I had the opportunity to talk to one of the sales associates. They were quite rude and he kept pushing me to buy a battery/battery charger package which didn't come with the camera. They said it cost around $150. I told him that I was just going to buy it at a store when I got the camera. He kept telling me that that wouldn't work and even insulted me. He said something to the extent of "Maybe they don't teach you proper word usage in college." After refusing numerous times, the associate told me that I would get my order in 4-6 weeks weeks and hung up on me. I immediately called back to cancel my order and sent an email to complain. I doubt the email's going to do anything. After all that, I still didn't have my camera. I ended up going to Best Buy where the people knew what they were talking about and the service is friendlier. At least I'll get some of my money back from the Reward Zone program. You never know what you're going to get with these online companies."

"Not knowing what I know now, I saw this incredible deal on their web site for a Nikon D50 camera body. I ordered it off their web site. A day later I received an email saying I need to call to "confirm" my order. When I did, I spoke with Max, a REALLY rude guy who insisted I needed a certain type of memory, a certain type of battery and some other stuff at ridiculous prices. I said I would call back (because it was really expensive, and I needed to figure out where I was gonna get the money from to pay for this). He was really rude about that, but I did, then I called him back and said I couldn't afford it right now, just cancel the order. A few minutes later my wife called and said just order what I needed (yes, I respect her opinion). So I happily called Max back. He was really cocky about me not making up my mind, but then proceeded to tell me that this was JUST the camera body. No strap, no software, no CD, no cables, nothing but the body, and there was no warranty. Forget that. He had me so ticked off I hung up on him. EXTREMELY rude service.

As it turns out, they're not the only company like this. MOST of the camera companies online are like this. I noticed a pattern. On their web sites, they all have the exact hours of operations - closed saturdays, etc., and when you call them, they all have the exact same menu system (but with a different company name and voice). My guess is that they are the same company or owner. Whatever the deal, most of these camera companies from New York are ridiculously rude. I'm not going to give anyone $800+ of my hard-earned money if they're going to be rude and obnoxious.

"STAY AWAY! These people tried to rip me off, listing one price and then charging $500 more claiming the price was after the rebate. They didn't tell me the camera was more money until after they asked for the confirmation code from my credit card, so they could charge an additional $200 to cancel the orders. They were very rude and accused me of not knowing English, then tried to tell me a website I was looking at did not list the camera for the price I was looking at. They also tried to get me to switch my order to a camera that costs only $900 list price for $1800, acting like they were doing me a favor. After being insulting and rude, and I could hear people in the background laughing at the stuff he was trying to pass of on me, he hung up saying he was going to charge my credit card and send me nothing. I will be taking these people to court so stay FAR AWAY from these people or you will be sorry."

"Folks, don't waste your time and energy with this company. I learned the hard way. My wife ordered a camcorder with unbelievable price. They tried to mislead her by offering accessories to inflate the final price. My wife ended up canceling the order. They were extremely rude to her and they said "your order is canceled and thank you for wasting our time". This people will continue to operate this way until someone else stop them. To make this company realize that this type of shady business will not be tolerated. My wife and I filed a complain to BBB (Better Business Bureau) We later found that we are not alone on this. To find out if the company you are dealing with is honest or dishonest just go to this site: http://search.bbb.org/
You can search by business name, phone #, or business web address. You will be amazed on what you will find out about a particular business. It even tells you the type of complaints that other people filed. You can even get the owners name, license # (if any), the years they are in business, contact #, etc. If you want to report that company to BBB, just click on the "report a problem" tab on top of the page. Another suggestion... After filing a formal complaint to BBB, also file a complaint to Department of consumer Affair. The website is:

"Wow, after reading so many negative reveiws i decided to call the sales department myself before ordering. I'm in the market for a D70s. So i called the first time, asked if the D70s kit they had listed on their website was the US version. In the middle of the sales guy's sentence he hangs up on me (and he verified that no, it was not the US version). Giving them the benefit of the doubt (maybe their lines are bad or maybe the sales guy just accidently hung up on me) i called back and got another sales guy. I asked about the D70s kit (listed at $529!!!!). once again he confirmed it is not the US version and said the US version is $629 (Still an amazing price). So i asked him if the kit came w/ batteries, he said yes, and asked him to verify if it came w/ the 18mm-70mm nikkor DX lens, and he said he'll check. So he put me on hold, and next thing I knew, i was hung up on again.

Please beware people.

"Very dissatisfied. I ordered the canon gl2 from CCI camera city. Then they had me call them to confirm the order. Who does that these days? Then when i checked my status, it said my order was cancelled. So i called and asked what this was about. They told me it had to ship from Japan. So then a few days ago i called back wanting to know where my camera was. The man i spoke to was very rude. He told me i was trying to get a "mercedes" when i paid for a "camero", then i asked him why i was taking so long, he said that it had to be shipped out of the country, so i asked why not keep one in stock at your place, then he rudely replied it is in our return policy, that items come from other countries. That is BS it says "some items may carry internation WARRENTIES". That is totally different. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY THEY CHEAT YOU, THEY ACCUSE YOU, THEY SCAM YOU, AND QUITE FRANKLY THEY ARE R-U-D-E!."

"Ordered a Canon 30D kit, got the email to call and confirm and was told no battery came with the camera which is a lie. After turning down the battery I was hung up on. I called back and they refused to sell me anything, just kept repeating, "YOU CANCELLED YOUR ORDER!!"
Really weird and terrible service. It's a sham. They are crooks.

"I wish I had read the reviews here prior to my falling for the froogle results.

Bait and Switch is there middle name!

The product I wanted, was quickly turned around and the sales person sold me on a product that was (in his words) a newer model and better made.

Well 5 min after my order, I called back ... he did not answer my call, I left a voice mail to let him know I wanted my orig. order.

5 min later, called back and dialed zero to find out the place does not open for 20 min.

I left another voice mail for my sales rep.

I called 5 min after it opened from a different telephone so my sales rep. would answer the telephone, says "sure" no problem I will change that order for you.

I called back 2 day's later to find out they sent the product that I did not want anyway.

Luckly the same day I reported them to my credit card company.

Also I never accepted the product, had my UPS Store reject it, so now I have proof via the tracking number it never touched my hands.

Called them up 2 days ago and they said they will credit my card back.

I shall be checking on that or I will be making a call to my credit card company.

So my lesson here was trust my good old local Pro Gear shop and I paid about 80 bucks more than what these guys was selling it for , but I have to wonder could I ever have got the product for what they advertised? - perhaps would have there been a call the next day, oh sorry out of stock?

Who know's but I now know that once you find a good old pro gear shop in your town, stick with them, or risk this sort of bait and switch tactics.

"CCI Camera City committed fraud against me by telling me that the camera I ordered was no longer available and then selling me a supposedly replacement camera that was better for a higher price. Upon further research, I discovered that this was not true.

I originally ordered a Kodak Easy Share Z7950 camera for a total of $209.99 including shipping. I received a call the next day from a person named Larry saying that this model was discontinued and that the replacement model would be the Kodak Easy Share Z700. He informed me that it would be a much better camera with a better optical zoom. He initially said the Z700 would cost $40 more. After I declined, he then offered me the camera for only $10 more. I accepted. Since that conversation and after being insulted and treated in a very rude manner over the phone I decided to check this model (the Z700) out on the Kodak website.

I discovered that this camera, the Z700 IS NOT the replacement model for the Z7950 and is in fact a lower performing camera. The Kodak list price for the Z700 camera is a full $250 lower than the Z7950. The optical zoom on the Z700 is 5x. The optical zoom on Z7950 is 10x. Larry not only lied to me about the camera itself, but then charged me more money in the process. THIS IS FRAUD!!!

"This store totally sucks, I seriously wish someone had shown me this website before I ordered. They used bait and switch on me. I ordered a Canon 17-85 ISUSM lens which was listed for 459 on their site, they charged me 589 for it not counting shipping and tax. I even placed this order over the phone so there's no surprises like this if they forget to mention anything on the website. They claim they shipped an USA model whereas the website price is the import model. Nothing of this sort was mentioned when I placed the order and the quote I received on my original order over the phone only adds up if they charge me the website price. So basically they quoted me a low price and jacked it up without my knowledge or consent and claimed that they shipped me something better than what I'd ordered.

And they charged me $60 for shipping maybe 3 pounds including packaging and box from Brooklyn to another location in the same state for a 2 day delivery. Every other shop I checked charged 1/3 of that. This was not mentioned on their website at all nor did they tell me how much shipping cost when I ordered. I should've cancelled the order on the spot.
