"Update to this review. Mike (co-founder from CCTV Camera Pros)contacted me by email and then phone and wanted to make right on the issues that we had. They refunded our shipping since the package went out a day late and also provided us with all the proper documentation for the power supply unit.

CCTVCP wants to make sure that all their customers are completely satisfied with any issues they may have. We have never dealt with a company that went out of their way to correct any and all problems that one has. I would recommend them before anyone else. They are the real deal and stand behind their products and service.


First off, wanted to say that when needing a question answered, the agent who helped me was very expedient getting back with a reply.
The big issue I have is that the I-DVR that I ordered is basically a cheap piece of extremely thin plastic with some electronics in it. Don't get me wrong, it works but the manual that comes with it is outdated and confusing. I found a local camera guy here to try and help me figure out how to go through all the settings. Gave him the brand name (I-DVR)so he could look up the manual online and he could find nothing at all associated with this brand. It looks like a toy with a price-tag of $800. Figure that maybe CCTVCP are building their power supply's possibly their DVR's.

When I received my order and opened the boxes to the dome cameras and the power supply unit, there was no paperwork (owners manuals)at all with the equipment other than the bullet camera. Contacted James at CCTVCP and told him there were no manuals and he said the power supply unit doesn't have one and then emailed me one for one of the dome cameras. To me when you pay as much money as we did for the system we got, there should be O&M manuals with it. It shouldn't matter how much one spends. So, if something was to go wrong with the power unit, I could not even troubleshoot it and would have to call.
Since we are in Alaska that makes it a little difficult being 4 hours earlier than Florida.

For example, there was a replacement fuse in the (no brand name) power supply box that I could not locate where it would go to replace when it goes out (without maybe disassembling the electronics inside). Asked about this and was just told that it was extra. Did not want to start tearing apart a new piece of equipment so will have to wait and see when the time comes where it is located.

They offer free shipping to the lower 48 states but for us it was over $200. That was just under 10% of our total order. There was no discount on shipping on an order over $2300. Ordered on a Friday and the order was not shipped until the next Tuesday.

I was told that all manuals and installation videos are online and we could print them out. Told our agent that we live in Alaska and the internet we have is very very slow. IF and when something goes wrong it is more convenient and saves us a lot of time having all the manuals there with the equipment.

Overall, the customer service is decent but as far as the equipment, it seems to me that it is way overpriced. Camera quality on both the bullet (BIPRO-S600VF12) and dome cameras (DPRO-AS700) are not really good for a higher end camera. I am planning on getting a really cheap camera to compare quality of picture.

1) In regards to the manual the ships with the iDVR. I agree with you that is can be somewhat confusing. There are many different configuration options that the iDVR offers, many of which beginner or even novice DIY installers typically do not use. This is the reason why we supplement the guide with easier to follow step-by-step instructions on our website that covers all of the typical things that users want to do. We are always looking for ways to better get this information to users and we will continue to do that.

2) You are correct that the camera power supply boxes do not include a manual. I believe that this is an oversight on our part in assuming that they are very simple devices with a positive and negative terminal connection for each camera, so I have added a task to our documentation team's project list to create a manual for this product immediately.

3) In regards to your comments about the iDVR. Unfortunately, when we came up with the name iDVR back in 2009 we did not apply for a trademark right away. As a result, there have been many copy cat manufacturers that also use this name. The US trademark office has ruled that it is too generic for us to trademark so you are correct, if you search for that term, you will find products other than our own. I apologize that this can be confusing is you are searching on Google. Please note that all of the information for our iDVR is on our website and we have a comprehensive search field at the top of every page of our website. This actually uses Google just to search our websites.

As for the quality of the iDVR, please do not mistake the smaller size of the case for "cheap quality". The iDVR contains some of the best surveillance software for a stand alone DVR on the market. I assure you of this based on years of experience and testing hundreds of sample DVR models over the past 8 years from manufacturers all of the world. We have thousands of satisfied customers including professional installers that have been doing this for 10+ years.

As for help with the settings, this is where CCTV Camera Pros sets ourselves apart from our competition. We provide lifetime phone, chat, and email support. The different time zones that we are in somewhat limit our overlapping hours of operation, but I assure you that we are here for you M-F from 9:00-5:30 EST.

We are also available to remotely login to your network and make settings on your behalf if you request us to. Typically, even our installers use us for our remote configuration services because we can do it so quickly for them. Please give us the opportunity to help you in the future instead of using someone that is not familiar with the product.

4) Fuses are generic and do not require any specific brand. They only require the correct size. If you pop one out of the fuse panel in your car, you will not likely find a brand there either. I do agree with you and I will note that we should explain what the extra fuse is for in the manual that we are going to create.

5) The BIPRO-S600VF12 and DPRO-AS700 cameras that you purchased are two of our best sellers for higher end CCTV. We have a lot of installers that repeatedly purchase these from us because of their high quality and reliability.

Sometimes customers think that CCTV is going to give them the type of quality that they see in high definition TV. This is not the case. CCTV max resolution generally is 704 x 480 pixels. For customers that want to achieve true HD quality (1920 x 1080), you must either use IP cameras of HD CCTV (a.k.a HD-SDI) cameras and HD-SDI compatible DVRs. You can learn more about this here:

6) In regards to shipping, I do wish that UPS had a way for us to ship to Alaska inexpensively via ground transportation, as we do to the 48 contiguous states. Because the only way to ship to Alaska is via air, it costs much more and we can not offer free shipping to Alaska.

You placed your order on Thursday 09/06/2013 @ 4:19PM EST. Unfortunately, our shipping pickup comes at 4:00 and there was no way to get this out on the same day. However, I believe that it should have gone out the next business day (Friday) and not Monday as it did. For this reason, I am going to refund the full amount that you were charged for shipping to your credit card.

"Really great products at CCTV Camera Pros, I had been searching for a ip camera that actually worked and didn't drop the live feed every couple of a minutes! I have gone through 3 other cameras with other companies and had just about given up till I found CCTV Camera Pros. The camera they recommended "Zavio F3115" works perfect, a little hard on the initial setup but CCTV has a great tech support staffed with real people who seem to take their jobs very serious, so within no time at all I was up and running! This business seems to work very hard to achieve a 5 star rating and they certainly deserve it! "
