"Folks, This company is out of business as of August. I bought what I thought were 100 2x rated DVD-R discs from them. Well I actually got the merchandise from them (Some people have not been so lucky from what I read here)But they only record at 1x
That's a huge time difference when you consider that it takes over an hour to write a 4.5GB disk at 1x.
They had a money back guarantee but that appears to be worthless at this point.
Oh well, Live and learn I guess"
"On May 30th, I ordered 60 DVD-R discs from cdrecordable. After repeated unsuccessful attempts of burning these discs, I e-mailed the company on June 19th. I received a phone call that very day from Ed Law who couldn't have been nicer. He was very sorry this happened and promised to replace my full order. Eight days later and no discs, I phoned them and spoke to Ed Law who said they were sent out the day before and I should be receiving UPS information that day. HA! I have e-mailed them 8 times since then. Absolutely no response. I am surprised they have as high a rating as they do. Evidently they originally were a reputable company. Those days are over. "
"I ordered 100 80min and 100 74min CDR's and received 200 80min CDR's. They were poorly packed and both bundles had broken open in shipping. I ended up with about 40
scratched discs. I contacted Ed Law
in customer service and he said to keep the discs and that they would send me 100 74min ASAP at no charge. I thought well that'll be cool. The only problem is that they never made good on it. After repeated emails regarding a ship date for my discs they finally just quit responding altogether. These guys used to be great to deal with but those days are gone. The only good thing to come out of this is I went looking for a new supplier and found out about CDR Planet."
"I placed an order on May 7th, for 500 CD-R's. Three weeks later after several unanswered phone messages and e-mail's, I cancelled the order. I even had one e-mail that said my order would be out the door on May 23rd. This was my first and now last attempt to order from this company."
"We have purchased bulk quantities of CD's from CD-Recordable before and their products have always been flawless, with excellent customer service. However this has changed dramatically for some reason -- perhaps new management (or should I say MISmanagement?). We placed a relatively small order (300 discs), and were never issued a tracking number as they specify on their website. We finally received the order after 3 weeks, and it came in a crushed box, with the disc wrappers completely shredded and many of the discs damaged thanks to some careless packaging, where the contents were protected by only a few small pieces of bubble wrap placed at the top of the box. Past orders were carefully wrapped, with each roll of CDs wrapped in bubble wrap. Not so with this order. They even neglected to line the borrom or sides of the box with bubble wrap! There was also no invoice or even a packing list enclosed. Efforts to contact them using the phone number listed on their website were unsuccessful, all we ever heard was an answering machine, and they never returned our calls after several attempts. Several enquiries by e-mail were also not answered. Based on these facts, I can only recommend to steer clear of them at this point. This is a perfect example of e-commerce at its worst. If they make things right I will certainly follow up with updated information."
"This was my first time with CD-Recordable.COM. I bought 25 DVD-R to transfer home movies and wedding videos to.
So far I'm satisfied with the DVD-Rs. However, I cannot play the movies beyond the 2x search speed. I will try other DVD-Rs before I chalk this up as a bad experience. Perhaps my DVD unit (Apex 600A) is the problem.
I am happy with their speedy shipping and packaging.
After testing other DVD-R brands, I'm sure I'll be back to buy more since the speed search in a minor inconvience to me."
