"I was extremely dissatisfied with my interactions with COMPTECHARENA. I had found a product that I wanted to purchase on their site. It was RAM memory for an older computer that I have. They were selling it as a kit. It contained 8 GB of RAM per kit (2 x 4GB) and was clearly priced at $55.00. So I purchase two kits for a total of $110.00. About a day after I placed my order online, I recieved an email from them stating that the parts were not in stock (although that was clearly not on their site at the time of purchase nor on my reciept etc.) and my order was CANCELED by them. They also said that they should be recieving more stock in about a week. So I went back to the site after my order was cancelled to find that the price had changed from $55.00 to $199.00! I was astonished to see that the price had nearly quadruppled over night. I then sent them an email asking if the part was now in stock and they said it was (even though it hadn't been a week). I don't believe it was ever out of stock (it didn't say it was out of stock when I bought it nor when I returned to the page after I was informed by email that it was out of stock. The only thing that changed on the page was the price!). Rather I believe they had it and as soon as somone wanted to buy it at a reasonable price, they then cancel the order and jack up the price. I find this to be deceptive and unethical. I inquired if they would honor my original order price which I had placed in good faith for $55.00 per kit, but they declined and said that I would have to pay the full (magically new) price of $199.00 per kit. Needless to say, I did not purchase this item at that exorbatent price, and I decided to write this review as I think others sould be aware of their decptive practices. This is not the first post that I have seen either that talks about the oder cancellation price switch scam that they are pulling. Therefore, I think others should know about this and be very wary of buying anything from this company. I am even considering reporting them to the BBB (Better Business Buereau) for these deceptive practices. I would strongly recommend that you do NOT purchase anything from this company! If instead they had agreed to honor the orignal purchase price, then I would have a lot more respect for them, but instead they decided to price gouge and honestly I do not believe this part was ever out of stock. Rather I think it was there the whole time and they just said that in order to try and scam more money out of me. Avoid this company for their deceptive practices if at all possible!"

"I would avoid this company. We ordered a replacement power supply for a Dell PowerEdge server, NPS-730AB. It was listed as a "new pull". We bought it for $150 and 52 days later it went belly up. We contacted comptecharena and were informed it was out of warranty, and they wouldn't help us. We then learned that "new pull" is their term for refurbished and certified by them. They obviously don't have a lot of confidence in their refurbished products, or else they would give them more than a 30-day warranty.
I also noticed a lot of reviews on other sites that review merchants that show they are unethical regarding credit cards and falsifying FedEx numbers and other hair-raising stuff. "
