"CPO tools and their partner site tyler tool have a ridiculously annoying practice - any order of significant funds (over a couple hundred bucks) gets delayed until they clarify with you that you ordered it! this means, you must call the call center - which is only open during the business hours we all usually work during, So if you cant spend your time from 9-5 calling them, waiting on hold and confirming you would indeed like to pay them money, they will not send you your order! No where is this more frustrating than when ordering important tools for a project you're in the middle of when time matters! No other site I have ever encountered has this absurd practice. I dont understand it."
"I've purchased over 10 RECONDITIONED tools from CPO over the last 3 years. The tools were exactly or in BETTER condition than described. CPO notes that the case MAY not be included with their reconditioned tools but in every case a case was included."
"I ordered a DeWalt DC390B circular saw from Tyler Tools, Be aware that Tyler Tools IS CPO Tools. The saw I received was a resealed item. All I did was to plug a battery into it and turned it on. The battery vibrated tremendously, there was something wrong with this saw. I called them for an rma number and explained the problem with the saw. A week and a half after returning it, I had no conformation from them of the status. I called them only to be told that a refund was issued on August 2nd, the day they received it back. 10 days later, still no refund. Called PayPal and was told that NO refund had been submitted from CPO. Filed a PayPal claim. They told PayPay that the return was because of "Buyers Remorse". They lied. And even if it was, why didn't they refund my money like they told me they had? PayPal got back a partial refund for me. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM CPO TOOLS OR TYLER TOOLS. CREEPS like this should be put out of business. "
"BUYER BEWARE !!! CPO does not inspect nor back up it's products. Unless you are planning to use and do a thorough inspection of your purchase right away, I suggest thinking twice about purchasing anything on sale with CPO knowing that you will use it later. I purchased an open box Hitachi air compressor 10 months ago because the price was good and I new I would be needing a new one. I inspected it when it was received, repackaged it and stored it in my garage for later use. Today when I was preparing it for use, I noticed that all brackets mounting the engine to the compressor frame were broken on one side. As you can only see the broken brackets when the compressor is turned upside down and you look up between the engine and air tanks, I didn't catch it on my initial inspection. I called CPO to explain the situation and made the aforementioned facts very clear to them as well as the fact that I haven't even put oil in or plugged in the compressor yet. I received the standard line about their warranty even though the product was clearly BROKEN before I received it. In speaking to their management I learned that they do not inspect their open box products, they assume that the manufacturer sends them good product. THE $240 LOSS I AM TAKING ON THIS COMPRESSOR FAR EXCEEDS THE CUMULATIVE SAVINGS I'VE REALIZED AT CPO. Goodbye CPO and hello Amazon, I've found NEW products on Amazon at nearly the same prices that CPO offers on new and reconditioned products."
"I placed an order with CPO tools 2 weeks ago, and everything went great. They shipped fast, I had it within 4 days, despite Fedex screwing up, but that's not their fault.
Well, I've been trying to place a second order for the better part of a week, and it's been a pain to say the least. I tried twice the other day, and both times their site said "there has been a problem completing your order, please try again." I tried a third time, and WTF, my card declined. I check my bank, and there's 2 holds from them for the amount of these orders. I tried again today, same problem. I called to try to straighten it out, and their customer service was as useful as ice to an eskimo... they simply offered to transfer me to sales. I tried again, and oh look, my card was declined, because they had AGAIN put a hold on my account from the failed order. The salesman insisted that they weren't having a problem, and my bank must have been declining the card. Well gee, thanks. Clearly my bank is declining transactions from your company, even though my cards work perfectly fine everywhere else. Moron.
If this is the kind of customer service I can expect when trying to make a purchase, I can only imagine how wonderful an experience it must be to deal with them if there's a problem. Thank you CPO, for saving me the hassle of trying to deal with you later. I won't be doing any more business with you in the future."
"I ordered a milwaukee chop saw. they sent the wrong box the first time with a broken unit placed in a dilapidated box improperly packaged. I returned it. I just recieved the replacement, not much better, shield was damaged in shippment same crappy packaging or should I say NO packing material. They put a 45 pound chop saw in an over sized box with no padding and the thing can bounce around and get banged up. I am so disappointed. probably have to return this as well. "
"I ordered a ridgid tile saw from cpo I attempted to put it together and the screws they supplied are the wrong ones (did not mix the screws up there are only 4 and they go in same place) I contacted cpo same day I got the saw and they told me to go to ridgid and get replacement parts what a joke bought saw thinking I can use it but not the case now I have to do the leg work to get the saw to work and wait another 2-3 weeks for my screws to arrive so I can do a tile job buyers beware"
"I have made numerous purchases from CPO tools and all has gone well, even the return of a damaged contractors saw. I decided to once again use what I thought was a reputable on line seller for my latest tool purchase.
Having recently retired I decided to replace some of my older equipment. My fourth Taiwanese made tool self destructed within the last year so I decided to replace it with an American made tool. I had seen references to Powermatic - an equipment manufacturer represented by CPO- bringing production back into the US. I emailed CPO Tools to confirm the Powermatic sander I was interested in was American made. Their answer – "Yes , this is made in the US".
I ordered the sander on may 30th 2012, and guess what it said on the box when it arrived– “MADE IN TAIWAN”.
I was very displeased having been mislead so I contacted CPO and they told me I could return it . They said I would be contacted by Powermatic for return instructions.
A week went by and no contact so I called again and was told someone would contact me. Yet another week and no contact. A third call finally led to an email with return instructions. I was informed that I would have to arrange shipping by trucking company, pay for the trucking charges and…. Pay a 25% restocking charge – almost $500 out of my pocket to correct their mistake. Two emails and 2 additional phone calls and NO RESPONSE!!!!!
After 4 weeks with no satisfaction or contact I concluded that I was indeed stuck with another Taiwanese junk tool.
I cannot say that I was intentionally mislead as to the tool being made in Taiwan, but I cannot imagine that information not being readily available to CPO representatives.
I also received an email from CPO to rate the product, which I did. I included the above information and noticed that the review was never posted on their website - what a surprise!

"I have made at least 5 purchases in the last year and half from CPO Tools. They have included new and refurbished tools (Makita, Bosch & Milwaukee). The prices are great and every order has been shipped FAST and delivered just as promised. CPO is now my go to tool source. I recommend them to everyone to anyone on the market for tools. "
"I have made 7 separate purchases from CPO Tools over the last 3 years, both new and reconditioned tools. I have had excellent service, fast shipping and all was as advertised with every purchase. My experience with their reconditioned Bosch tools is that the tools look and performs as if new - never a single problem. If you buy low quality tools (like Ryobi) and then have a problem it's pretty hard to blame CPO. If, like me, you purchase quality tools (Bosch, Jet, Dewalt, etc) you will receive a great tool at a fair price backed up by excellent customer service. "
"Purchased a factory reconditioned RYOBI Router on Dec 7, within a few weeks I noticed the speed was not steady and a couple of times I had to bump it and torn the switch off and on a few times to get it to run. i thought that it may be new brushes needing to settle since it worked fine for a couple more weeks but it started again. I contacted them and was told that since it was about a week over the 60 day return mark all that I could do was send it to a repair center, the shipping is about half what the router cost.
I will NEVER buy anything, not even a screwdriver from CPO again. I wish that I had read the reviews because I never would have purchased anything in the first place, but since they are a factory authorized reseller by so many manufacturers I thought that they were trustworthy, was I ever wrong. I guess that Dec 7 was MY Pearl Harbor day."
"I ordered a cordless sweeper from CPO. Tyler Tools ( a CPO company ) has the NS 118 cordless
sweeper on their web site with TWO BATTERY PACKS, they only send one. They refuse to send
another one."
"We ordered from cpotanklesswaterheaters.com on March 3rd, which included a Water Heater and a Vent Kit- received an email the NEXT day that said our ORDER had been shipped. Imagine our disappointment when only the Vent kit arrived. We kept checking the status of our order- no updates. On Monday the 7th, I called "customer" service and was told that they would call me back later in the day with details. NO ONE called me back. I called again on Tuesday, was given the same runaround- someone would call me back. Again on Wednesday- STILL No Shipping Update- No IDEA when or IF my water heater would be shipped. My Spouse is CURRENTLY on the phone and has been on hold 47 MINUTES waiting to find out WHERE our Hot Water heater is. I am completely disgusted with this company and my next post is going to be on the BBB website. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with them, they WON'T call you back.
Disgusted and FED Up. If I could give them ZERO stars I would."
"This company operates under several different names; I purchased a vacuum and bags from CPO Eureka. When the order arrived the bag, which had been recommended on their website, didn't fit the vacuum. Although they freely admitted the error they refused to pay return shipping or make it right in any other way."
"Ordered a compressor 7 days ago, said it will ship within 3 business days, its now 5 business days later, 2 emails to customer service, nobody knows whats going on. Filed a dispute over paypal, ill go buy it locally. Worst customer service and shipping ive ever seen.
Follow Up: Customer Service finally got back to me and told me there was an error in sending the order to the warehouse, they told me I should be receiving the tracking number very soon and it was possible the item already shipped. I told them I would leave the dispute open until I received the item. They issued a full refund this morning and canceled my order. By far the worst company ive ever dealt with."
