But since the price difference between California Computers was nearly $175 less for the Toshiba labtop I was purchasing for my wife, I thought it worth the risk. Wow. I placed the order on Saturday and it arrived, via free shipping, the next Tuesday. The company called to verify my card and address for security purposes. It was a remarkably smooth and ridiculously swift transaction. All I can say is that I would purchase from these people again in a heartbeat. "
"I haven't never had such a rude costumer service like this website. The way they talk to you like sh*t. They don't care. I saw the price in the website is cheaper than others place about $400. But when I place my order. They send me a confirmation email with a different price. I call and ask them, they tell me they can change the price to whatever they want. "They are very pleasant and security conscious to ensure no credit card fraud. They have a very insufficient internal and URL account communications however, with the inability to know when an order is shipped. My account record never displayed the tracking number, and they were unable to provide me the tracking number until more than two business days after order was shipped. Also they much prefer to handle questions and inquiries via email versus telephone. While they are polite on the telephone, it is clear they rather not be verbally talking to clients. My account was established at their californiacell.com site versus their californiacomputer.com site. The sites are not properly linked, as was unable to use the "Account" page of he later to log in and find my order status. Thus my comments regarding no updates to my order staus are in regard to the californiacell.com site.

"Could had never thought of that terrible service. 6 months ago I ordered two laptop batteries from them with overnight (or nex day) delivery. After 5(!) days had a call from them saying that one of the items is out of stock.
Two weeks ago I placed the same order and left a note that I REALLY want to be sure that they have the item in stock (I'm foreigner so I had just two weeks to spend in the USA). Finally after two weeks(!) today I received the package that contained..... just ONE battery! I called them and was told that they don't have the other battery (the same that they didn't have half a year ago) in stock! It was shocking! "I called to place a rush order for an IBM Thinkpad laptop computer. I specifically asked the salesperson if the product would ship today and ordered it with early overnight delivery (before 10am) since I needed this product before leaving for a trip. They assured me that the product was in stock and would ship today and arrive tomorrow.
A few hours later I called back to check on the order. The customer service representative told me that it had been released to shipping and that was all she could tell me -- she said I should receive a call shortly with the shipping information.
I called again a few hours later and after several minutes waiting on the phone she came back and told me that shipping had told her that my order would most likely not ship today because they did not have enough units in stock.
I spoke to a manager who confirmed that while they did "have the product in stock", the units were all spoken for and there was nothing they could do to help me.
So even though I specifically had confirmation not only that the product was in stock but would be shipped to me via overnight delivery, they were unable to fulfill the order. I was left without the equipment I needed and without time to take any recourse.
First, they never should have taken my order. The salesperson should have told me honestly that he could not guarantee that the product would ship. Failing that, they still should have called me to notify me that they would not be able to ship the product as expected. If I had not called to confirm the order, I never would have known the product wasn't going to be shipped.
Lastly, it is my honest belief that they never had the product in stock. After a long conversation with the manager, he told me that they had 5 units in stock this morning and that 4 units shipped out at 8am. The last unit was due to ship out in the afternoon. If that were true then at a minimum 4 of those 5 units would already have shipped prior to when I placed my order which meant the in-stock quantity would have shown up as at most 1 unit. He told me they had several orders in front of mine as well, so even if he had more he still wouldn't be able to ship the unit.
The bottom line is that this company cost me thousands of dollars by failing to live up to their promises. They clearly do not follow reasonable procedures to ensure this type of problem doesn't occur. I believe they intentionally booked my order knowing they would not be able to fulfill it as required in hopes that I still wouldn't cancel it even if it were delayed. This type of behavior should not be accepted from any vendor."
"This is the WORST customer service I have ever encountered with a company. I placed an order for 3 notebook PCs. A week and a half goes by and I am informed they only have 1 in stock. I proceed to order that last 1, and a week and a half later, I get an email saying my order was cancelled because they shipped that last 1 to someone else. It is now a month later and I now have to start from scratch to find another merchant. It gets even better when they tell me that there is NO manager I can resolve this issue with, but just their immediate "Supervisor" who handles EVERYTHING. Amazing... maybe that supervisor owns the company too?"
"What an aweful company. I was ordering a Tohsiba Pocket PC and the order had to be processed within 2 days or I wouldn't be elligible for a rebate. I ordered the Pocket PC from them, explained the situation, and they told me the product was in stock and it would go out the next day. When I called the following day I was told that they accidentally didn't even process the order! To top it off they had apparently sold their stock. As a result I had to scramble to find somebody that would sell me the Pocket PC and still meet my rebate requirements. SUMMARY: DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!"
