Misrepresented Parts to fit t2 68

"I have shopped cip1 since 1996. But no more.
Their Bosch parts are not Bosche.
There's no way the parts would fit.
This has happened a couple of times.
I'm never buying from them again. I suggest you don't either.

Buyer Beware!!!

"Ordered a transmission solid mount with 2 holes on each side. One set of holes to mount to car and one set to mount engine cage. So cip1 sent me a solid mount with 1 hole on each side. Called them the same day I got it. And sent pictures. Had to wait a week for them to tell me the other 2 holes don't matter, which for my application the 2 holes do matter. They then proceed to tell me to sell it on the samba. All I wanted was my money back but they won't give it back then they wanted to charge me 20% restocking fee plus the return shipping, This is the company's mistake and I shouldn't have to pay a restocking fee or return shipping. They will not send me a prepaid shipping label, instead they told me cut it up or run over with my car to destroy it. I just wanted to ship it back to them on their dime because they made the mistake why should I pay the price for their mistake. Their customer service is crap. Will never buy anything from them again. Called my credit union to see if they can dispute the charges"

"They sell you a product that is supposed to be for your car but it turns out that is not. Their answer is for you to have to go to a machine and get the part they sold you to work for your car, at your expense."

German C&C door handles

"I seem to have a problem with this company more often than not. Most stuff i get is not good quality or I have an order problem. This time I thought I would order the more expensive " German" quality door handles for my 55. One of the handles did not have the bolt threads go through all the way. I sent pictures and thought it would be a no brainer to send me a return shipping label and
I would send the bad ones back and they would send me some fresh ones ( after all this was their best ones) like all the other stores. I get an email back asking me to go buy a tap to thread it myself and "Gary" will give me $10 to buy the tap and maybe an extra $10 for my trouble. I am basically shocked to be asked to fix an inferior product myself. I emailed back that I just wanted a return label.
The next reply from "Gary " was to smash the handles in pieces with a hammer and take a picture of all the pieces and he would send new handles . He also asked if i wanted to purchase other things so he could add the handles. INCREDIBLE. Anyone else ever heard of this from a quality store. I replied back that I would not make a mess and smash the handles and that I am being very patient to please send me a return label.. This went back and forth a few times with this company shipping me something I couldn't use and refusing to send a return label. This went on for a couple months. I eventually went to a machine shop and paid them $20 and installed my handles which by no means are show quality . This company advertises in hot vw and states they have the BEST customer service in the industry. I will not be buying anything from them again so just a warning it might be better going somewhere that backs up their products with a good return policy

Sent the wrong wheel

"They sent the wrong wheel I called to have it replaced and they refused to send me a shipping label. The manager Gary and Associate steve S where completely unhelpful. I would suggest bot buying from them stay away

They sell some good stuff and lots of junk stuff and no effort on their behalf

"I have put in 3 orders in 2018-2020. Some of it is decent stuff, NOS stock from way back/dusty parts which I like, when things were made well. Some of it is new junk and not worth installing. Problem the site has so little or NO description on the parts one has no idea what is going to show up. There is also errors in the catalogue, Vanagon gas tanks for one are listed by the wrong part number (verified by every other retailer). They replied "we have always sold them this way". Great, good for you listing them incorrectly and trying to make it right, there was no offer to send the correct tank or even ask if it was okay. Never pay full retail, there is always a sale around the corner with them. Be sure to ask them questions before you order so there is no surprise when the parts show up, after it is too late. At least the shipping is free, the only good thing. It takes 2 weeks to get to Ontario, one week to gather the parts and a week in transit (in other words SLOW). My USA orders show up in 3-4 days by comparison. I use them as a last resort when everyone else is sold out, overpriced or no listings. It is unfortunate, there are very few places to by parts online in Canada, it would be SO EASY to be really good..."

"I bought a header from them. Was crooked and poorly welded. All they could say was (it says made in Mexico). What a poor excuse. Was my first and last time ordering anything from this place"

Maid in Germany is doubtful

"The customer support is fast and good. However, the parts are inferior quality. I have had 2 orders: mirrors and domes for the wheels. Mirrors, supposedly German made, came with half the hardware. I installed them using hardware from my old mirrors (with few mods) but because of that I did not receive any support from Cip1. Domes came packed with the rims in the same box, and were very soft. In the transport they were damaged, and came out full of dents and do not fit the rims properly anymore. Conclusions: Get your advise the Cip1, but parts somewhere else. "

Every order has at least 1 problem

"A lot of the stuff is junk, or simply doesn't fit where it's supposed to, or do what it's supposed to.

Not all of it, but a lot of it.

But don't bother trying to talk to them about it, especially if you get the owner, Kris. You're more likely to be told to go f*** yourself than you are to get any sort of customer service.

They used to have reviews on their site, which was great. Then the negative reviews disappeared, so you would only see the 2 good reviews instead of the (probably many) bad reviews. Now the reviews are gone all-together.

They'll tell you they stand by all their products, but they won't let you find out about the bad things until they've already got your money, and they certainly don't stand by their customers. I guess they stand by their products in the "we sell great stuff and if you don't think so you can go to hell" sorta way.

Vacuum advance distributor

"Order a Vacuum advance distributor from them. Didn't get to install on my 1972 VW beetle for a least 3 months.(March 2018) Went to install June 2018 and the distributor is defective.The distributor is pinging around like mad. Tried to time motor and it was nuts . Called to tell them and they said it's been to long to file a complaint. That was it. No customer service whats so ever. I now have a $80.00 plus shipping piece of junk. Good luck if you buy anything from them. I sure won't try again "

"Beware! They won't take anything back, they don't know the products, they lie. Shop anywhere else. I have had 3 separate issues that were never resolved. I ordered a specific part number, after calling them to make sure they had them, they shipped something else that won't work & they won't take them back, so I am stuck with $2700 worth of pistons & cylinders. Then the chrome wheel saga of them selling fake chrome wheels that are painted chrome and are black painted underneath.. "

"I have purchased parts through CIP1 for years and been happy with the parts. Recently I ordered a Poly-Seat. $71 and $19 shipping. The seat arrived wraped in saran wrap. No box. The seat had some minor rash damage but since it was going to be out in the real world It was OK with me. When I set the seat where it would be installed it was too high. The base is raised up 5 or so inches and the seat was so high my head hit the overhead. There was nothing in the description about the thick base, only the total height. So I tried to return the seat. The not so polite little girl gave me a RMA number but said I had to box it even thought CIP1 hadn't. I took the seat the the local UPS and was told it would cost $73 to ship it back!!! And that the seller probably had got a deal on the shiping and maybe they would send me a return shipping label. I call the little girl again and asked for a return shipping label and was denied. I offered to pay for the label the $19 they had paid. But she said NO! She then told me that they got the seats from several manufacturers and the description was accurate?? Then I asked for the manager but she said no I could not speak with him but she would. I waited on the phine for a wopping 30 seconds until she came back and said he had denied the return and they got the seat from only one manufacturer and the description was accurate and CIP1 didin't have to take it back. So now I have an unuseable seat and am unable to get satisfaction from CIP1. So here is the deal. If just one person reads this and decides not to purchase from them then they have lost the profit from the transaction. DON'T SHOP HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY INTENTION OF SENDING AN ITEM BACK. THESE POEPLE ARE NOT THE SAME AS THEY WERE YEARS AGO AND THEY WILL LIE TO YOU AND KEEP YOUR MONEY. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER PLACES TO SHOP. MY LOCAL GUY IS PRICED SO REASONABLY THAT IT'S ALMOST THE SAME PRICE IN THE END AND IT SUPPORTS THE LOCAL BUSINESS. HE JUST DIDN'T HAVE A SEAT OR I WOULD HAVE SHOPED WITH HIM."

"I purchased some sheetmetal for a VW Bus from CIP-1 in January. After inspecting the parts and attempting to install them, I determined that they were not going to work. They were poorly manufactured and would not line up. I contacted them and they said there was nothing wrong with the parts but would take them back but would not refund any of the shipping costs unless they detemined that they were in fact defective. Of course they determined the parts were not defective. The only way to determine this is to install them on the vehicle which they did not do.
