"This is my first order with this horrible company and my last order. I bought a product at California pet Pharmacy. First order. They did not tell me they were taking out an authorization charge which was deducted from my bank account in addition to the payment. Both same amounts. I called and their customer service is rude and with the attitude of "we could care less about your problem" CS lied to me and told me that the authorization charge amount should not be taken out of my account. But it was and my account was overdrawn. The bank even told me it was taken out. "
"Wish I could give ZERO STARS! I ordered over $200 in meds for my 14 yo dog and when I received the package, 1 of the medications was missing. I called customer service and spoke to Hailey. She had no idea how to handle this. She spoke to management & they wanted a picture of the packing slip & of the medication. How either of these items prove that I didn't receive the medication, I have no idea but I did it. When I was speaking with her, I asked to speak to a manager & no one would get on the phone. I called back and spoke to Sienna - very nice & helpful. Now the medication I should have received is OUT OF STOCK because it shipped to someone else & I have to wait until tomorrow for it to ship and they will only do 2 day shipping because it still 'falls into the window of the original shipping time' BUT if it was in the package with the others, I WOULD HAVE IT ALREADY! I spoke to manager VINCE OCHOA who was snotty and unhelpful & told me if I wanted upgraded shipping, I would have to pay for it. RIDICULOUS! "
"Needed to contact them by phone 3 times and each time was placed on hold for 15 minutes only to receive message the mailbox is full. Also had a really bad experience in ordering a medication which is too complicated to describe here. I strongly suggest that if you are considering ordering through them that you do not."
"My experience with California Pet Pharmacy (CPP) customer service was not only poor but also insulting. I ordered a tiny bottle of medication for my cat costing over $100. The color of this clear fluid medicine started turning milky when I still had about 20% of the bottle left. I called CPP and voiced my concern about the milky color. First, I was told it should be fine, but I called and emailed again, sending a photo and restating my concern, after which I was told to discard it. Based on needing to discard it, I noted that I would like a partial credit toward my next order, particularly given that I would likely be reordering this medication for years.
The agent I spoke with said that I should likely be getting a credit that day. Instead, I later received an email that same day denying this request and suggesting that the discoloration of the medicine was my fault, due to improper storage or contamination (e.g., getting food in the medicine). As a literate adult, I actually know how to follow directions on a bottle, which I did. I kept the medicine well within the proper temperature parameters and stored it correctly according to instructions. In addition, because I am not a fool, I was very careful to never contaminate the product with food. Because I know about germs and bacteria, I also cleaned the syringe every time I used it.
Not only was the denial of partial credit from CPP insulting, but it also suggests CPP has very shortsighted business sense. They could have credited me $25 to $30 toward my next purchase and earned hundreds of dollars over time from a long-term customer. Instead they chose to “save” $25 in the short term at the expense of losing both hundreds of dollars and a customer. That truly is a shame.

"Very poor customer service. I was charged for an extra prescription item I didn't order and never received: they claimed to have added it on based on my vet's fax, but I was never contacted to authorize the extra charge. After going back and forth several times by e-mail and phone, they are still refusing to refund my money. The rep I spoke with my phone, who was polite, at least acknowledged their error and said "her manager" would get back to me (I never heard from anyone); the rep I communicated with by e-mail erroneously insisted that I was shipped a fourth item. Shipping was also slow: I e-mail them to check on the status of my order after hearing nothing for nearly two weeks, after which it suddenly shipped. CA Pet Pharmacy might be slightly cheaper than competitors, but they aren't worth the frustration."
"I've been ordering from CPP for a couple years now and I've always had great service, fast shipping, excellent coordination with my vet, and good value. Thank you so much!"
"Have been promised twice that I would receive a return shipping label, it now has been 4 days, still waiting...... Ordered 3 items, two of the 3 items expired is less than a month, talked to Customer Service 4 times without any success, would never do business with this company!!!!"
"Took a chance on this company and now regret it to the amount of $150.. They sent my product to the wrong address and wouldn't make good on replacing it!! First time its happened. Customer service said they would review it and get back to me . No one did! I had to call them back and then they tell me there is nothing they can do! USE 1-800-PET-MEDS!!!!!"
"My husband and I have used California Pet Pharmacy for a few years now and have never been dissatisfied with the prices or shipping process of this company. In fact, we bought a year's worth of flea medication recently for our dog because it was a great deal; however, our dog unexpectedly passed away before we could use the first month of what we ordered.
When I emailed Customer Service to inquire about recommendations (because we understand that getting a refund would likely not happen due to it being a prescription), the response we got back was surprisingly cold, without any sort of acknowledgement that we have been customers for an extended period of time, that our dog just died, etc. It's not the biggest thing in the world, but customer service, I would hope at the very least after the death of a long-term customer, would entail a smidge of humanity or compassion.
If and when we have another pet, we will not do business with CPP again, even if the prices are comparable. I've heard incredible things about Chewy's customer service and will swiftly make the switch."
"I placed an online order on Tuesday 9/25 @1:30pm for 2 medications for my dog (Galliprant and Vetmedin). I received a call on Tuesday evening to call in because the Vetmedin was backordered. I called Wednesday morning, spoke to one of the representatives that asked me if I wanted to cancel the order for Vetmedin so Galliprant could ship right away. I told her to please cancel the Vetmedin since I needed Galliprant to be shipped ASAP. Today 9/28 I called to verify if it had shipped since I have not seen any emails from CPP stating it did. I was told that Galliprant has been on back order and they just received it and it will ship tonight. This means I will not receive the medicine until next week, but I'm running out of medicine by Sunday. I told them that since they didn't inform me of the back order for Galliprant at all, they needed to pay to get me the medicine overnight. They confirmed this was a screw up on their part, that they should have advised me of the back order, but still they would not ship it overnight. Now, I' left without any recourse because I will not be able to get the medicine I need for my dog before Tuesday of next week (vets do not carry that medicine, they need to order it). When I asked the supposedly supervisor Kayla (she refused to give me her last name) to put me with her supervisor, she said she would not do that. When I asked for the name of the owner of the company, she would not do that either. All that she continue to say is we apologize for the mistake, but we are not going to mail the medicine overnight. In other words, they don't care about their customers."
"I ordered meds for my dogs for 14 mo. Happy with all shipments. Prices are the best on the internet"
"Great prices, quick shipping, caring customer service. Will definitely order again. "
"We absolutely love California Pet Pharmacy! They make orderimg our pet medicine so easy and convenient!!"
"I used to purchase medication for my dog's Cushings Disease from our vet. I now purchase all the prescriptions for my pup from California Pet Pharmacy. Their prices can not be beat and their customer service is EXCELLENT. Items ordered often arrive within 2 days. I love CPP and would not purchase from any other pharmacy."
"I have had very good experiences with CPP! I always get my medications for my dogs quick! They make contacting my vet very easy."
