"I have been a continuous shopper at Camera Wholesalers of Stamford. Prices are a tad more than B&H BUT they take all the time you need to teach you how to use your purchase. Brian, the manager, has always been extremely helpful and always recommends the least expensive alternative."
"I have purchased a number of things from this store, but it seems that no matter when I go in, or who I speak to in the store, they are arrogant and usually a little less than helpful. The prices are exorbitant (usually 25% greater than what you would get through B&H or such), and they don't seem to carry a large supply of any brand besides Nikon. They didnt have basic things like brand name batteries for my Canon Xti, selling me instead generics. They also didnt have a body cap for Canon SLR's the last time I was in there. My wife came in with me the last time I was in there, WITH my new canon 5D Mark 2, and they were rude to me until they saw the camera, then they acted insulted that I had my new camera in their store.
I could go on and on, and cite example after example, but the gist of it is my wife and I decided to never buy from them again, even if it means ordering things or waiting until we go into Manhattan. "
"Nikon 200 with 18-200 Lens. Via phone, fair prices, in line with all other on-line merchants. Nikon extended warantee better price than others. Polite, not at all like other NY and near NY merchants. Did not strong arm me into buying accessories, in fact I had to call them back to add to my order. Shipping was as they stated. All in all a very good experience in buying a very hard to find camera and lens combination"
"I ordered a Nikon 18-200mm VR lens late Tuesday afternoon and it arrived on Thursday. You have to call them to order. Their staff is very nice and there was no pressure. It would have been nice if they could have supplied a tracking number (UPS 2nd day air), but they require you to call them for tracking. The lens arrive in great shape and I am happy with their service."
