"This was my 4th Nikon camera purchase from Cameta - D70, D700, D40X with 18-200mm lens, and D7100. My experience with the salesperson via email was less than satisfactory. He made assumptions about photos I would be taking - he thought I was using camera to take scenery photos, family photos. If that were the case, I wouldn't be buying a D7100 - I can take family and scenery photos with a point-and-shoot. I also own a Panasonic LX5. The package I was looking at included a Nikon 70 to 300mm lens - does that look like a scenery/family photo type lens?
When I asked him about some other memory cards that Cameta carries, he misquoted the speed of the card - the write speed and read speed are not always the same - for me the write speed has more meaning, especially with a camera like the D700 that can fire off 6 frames in continuous shooting mode.
I considered buying the D7100 kit from someone else, as I was so frustrated with the salesperson. I would have purchased the camera body, lens, and spare battery, without all the included junk for the same price. The spare battery is not NIKON. The Transcend card is not an especially good memory card - would have liked more choices - different brand, and 2 - 16Gb cards instead - camera has 2 slots.
In case you're wondering - I photograph wildlife and needed more speed and power than the D40X and 18-200mm lens - it will be my backup.
