"This review comes a bit late, but here goes . . .

Bought an LG GSA-4163 DVD burner back in January 2005. After almost a year, the burner started to act up and would no longer burn properly. The burner was still under warranty, so I brought it back to the Canada Computers location I purchased it at, for replacement.

In the end, the store honored the warranty and replaced the unit with a newer GSA-4167 model. So I was happy about that, and the new burner works perfectly. In the end, that's probably what matters most.

However . . . everything that has been said about Canada Computer's customer service, is true. Don't go there for the service, just go there for the good prices.

In my case - while the burner was replaced - the staff were somewhat unpleasant to deal with. They appeared disinterested and bored in my case. "Call back in two months" was about the extent of the conversation I had with them. Didn't leave a great impression, to be sure.

"Bought some parts from this store...one of several transactions i've done with them. Installed the motherboard and it wouldn't post. Took the system in to them to get the motherboard replaced and they said they wouldn't do it. Argued with them for awhile since i just bought the stuff 6 days ago and it doesn't work. Now i'm stuck with having to buy another motherboard...

Don't shop here! If you buy a part and it doesn't work - tough luck for you is what they basically say. Will NEVER buy a single item from them again!

"Where should I begin? This retailer has terrible customer service. They take forever to get orders approved. When I purchase gear from them a few months back they were nearly impossible to get a hold of... But once that happend my gear was shipped. Took about a 16 days from my first attemp until the parts were shipped. The case came with a nic on the front bottom. But after 9 attempts by email and 4 by telephone I just gave up. Their pricing was killer so because I could save $300.00 I was willing to give them another chance and I for the better part of 3 weeks attempted with no success to get an order through. I emailed and emailed and emailed them called their retail locations and head office and I didn't get one reply from them. I ended up spending $200.00 more and bought from a different retailer and had achieved success. This store is painfully bad considering no one was willing to email me back to confirm an order of $2300.00 cash. They must be making an incredible amount of money to not want to make a large sale in January. If you can get through to them the pricing is great. Don't think your going to get any sort of decent service. I would recommend going to a better online retailer who price matches like NCIX who I deal with as well and have had the complete opposite experience."

"I have purchased both for business use and home use and have always found the selection and price to be excellent. I had problems with hardware and it was tested and replaced without difficulty.

However, I'm not a fan of their 2% charge for using credit cards and not a fan of the really poor warranty and service they provide past the first 7 days after purchase. They need to improve in this area before I will do more major business purchases.
