Like many others I ordered a Ceton infinity4 card from Cannon PC. I expected a long wait when I pre-ordered the card, so no surprise there.
What did surprise me was paying $28 in shipping for a 1lb. package shipped UPS ground. "
"I too ordered the Ceton InfiniTV card - which got "delivered" by UPS - but was no where to be found.
I left a voice mail for Cannon, but I just called back a few times throughout the day until I got a live person. You should never leave it up to just a voice mail, as one reviewer did. Once I spoke with him, he filed an inquiry with UPS and has been very forthcoming with information.
One reviewer had stated others getting units ahead of time - that was an agreement between Zones.com and Microsoft to prioritize Microsoft orders first regardless of date. And it's just likely that Zones got their shipment before Cannon. That isn't in the control of CannonPC - they shipped out what they got...
I had (despite my dilemma of possibly having to wait another month for the next shipment of tuners) a very pleasant experience dealing with Cannon - and I would definitely use them again."
"On August 4th, Cannon PC e-mailed customers who had pre-ordered the Ceton InfiniTV in March, to inform them that they would be processing charges to credit cards "just prior to shipping", which was expected to occur the following week.
For whatever reason, Cannon did not receive enough stock to cover the orders for all the customers that had been charged. Despite this, they did not communicate to those customers who were charged on the 6th but whose orders were not fulfilled on the 13th that there will be a minimum of one additional weeks delay.
Cannon might or might not be responsible for the miscalculation in how many customers they should "pre-process", but the failure to communicate with the customers involved does not leave a good impression."
"This vendor was a part of the Ceton InfiniTV 4 Pre-order program which I participated in.
The ordering process was simple, I received my order confirmation via e-mail and I was able to view my order online the entire time (Ordered in March, still have access to view my pending order in August).
Below are certain events that have discouraged me from dealing with this company going forward:
Issue #1 - I had lost my credit card that I used for this order, so I contacted the vendor via phone on Thursday July 22nd (During their listed business hours) where my call went to voice mail where I left a message describing the situation.
I didn't receive any follow up communication, so over the next several days I proceeded to leave a voice mail and e-mail message indicating the issue.
A week later I finally made contact with this vendor and was able to update my credit card information.
Note: At least one other person who placed an order experienced this same issue.
Issue #2 - The entire time of the pre-order program, we were told by Ceton as well as Cannon PC that the orders were going to be shipped on a first come, first serve basis due to the limited supply. I discovered that this was not the case as 4 other people who have volunteered their information have received units prior to my order being shipped (at least two people ordered several days after me). There are also several other users who brought this same issue up. I/we am now waiting for the next batch of cards to arrive which is at least another weeks wait if not longer.
Issue #3 - My credit card was authorized and charged for this purchase before CannonPC even had the product to ship. Granted, Cannon PC did inform me of this action being taken, but in their communication they also stated that the card would be shipped within days of this charge being made. My card was charged approximately two weeks ago and I still do not have a product to show for it, and am not expecting one for at least another week.
The above was based on my personal experiences, while others have had more positive experiences I can only speak for mine and hope that you take this into consideration when making your purchase.
