"I was looking for an alternative to the NYC photo stores for three reasons. One is that they didn't have a full complement of all the Canon L series lenses I wanted (availability). Two was price. Three was honesty. As you know, some are honest, and some aren't, but the honest ones are getting harder to find and deal with, especially in this economy. Canoga Camera was suggested on the Yahoo Canon forum, and I decided to give them a chance. I was astounded at their availability and price on their website, beating all of the NYC stores, and I decided to call them just to make sure, by inquiring about when the Canon 5D Mark II would come in. Again, I was astounded at how nice AND knowledgeable the salesguy was on the line. After he assured me everything was USA warranty (on their website-duh!), I immediately went back to the website and ordered four L series lenses and placed the Mark II camera on back order. They checked out my credit card thoroughly, because my billing and shipping addresses were different, and I don't blame them. Everything came in as spoken and advertised, and I am very happy with their advice, service, prices, billing, shipping and merchandise. "Forget those big NYC stores, Canoga Camera beats them in price and customer service. I have ordered from them on multiple occasions and every time have been happy with the process.

I recently ordered a popular lens that is hardly kept in stock. They had the best price on the lens and had it in stock the day before I ordered. I spoke to Patrina and she said I could place the order and they would send it when they received another shipment, in around 7-10 days. To my surprise I received a call 2 days later telling me they received the shipment and it was going to be sent right out. I also spoke to Ghada who confirmed the ship date and was very pleasant. When the package arrived it was packed very well so that the lens wouldn't shift in transit. Unfortunately I live on the east coast so the shipping time took a bit longer, i wish they had an east coast store!

"Recently I ordered a Nikon AF 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G VR AF-S DX lens from Canoga Camera. The lens shipped the same day and arrived on time. Canoga Camera's excellent customer service maintains its high standard first found when I decided to look seriously at Nikon's D70 about 4 years ago. At that time I had read some excellent reviews of a Nikon dealer called Canoga Camera, so I called and spoke with a customer representative.
That man patiently answered questions about switching from film to digital format and the advantages of the D70. Not once did he try to "sell" the camera; on the contrary he made sure what I thought I needed was in fact what I wanted, with no pressure, no patronizing. That D70 still performs well - now with a brand new 16-85mm VR lens on mount.
Subsequently I got a great deal on a D40 locally. Swayed by performance reports for Nikon's 18-200 VR, and because of Canoga Camera's formerly outstanding customer service, I ordered that lens from Canoga on the 25th of November, 2007. Then, as now with the 16-85mm lens, I was unaffected by the many, many choices and "promises" offered on line and in stores for camera stuff, because I know Canoga's service record; so, as with any "good thing," I am sticking with it. I don't purchase photography equipment very often, but when the time comes again, Canoga Camera has a loyal customer here and my next purchase will be from them.

"I went to the store & although it was only a small retailer place for walk-in customers, the staff they have are all very courteous and knowledgeable about the things I need. I was looking for a case I saw on their website, and when I asked about it, the girl immediately checked their inventory and went scouring their stockroom for exactly the item I needed (& I got it!). Also there was another customer who was taking forever deciding between a Nikon D300 and D700 & the sales girl never became pushy "on buying the more expensive one" nor offered him of "ridiculous upgrades" that would skyrocket his bill unnecessarily. "I ordered a Nikon D700 on this day along with other gear; the website said all of the equipment including he camera was in stock including the camera. I received a phone call on December 2 stating the camera was not in stock, but would be there in 1-2 days. The salesperson I spoke with apologized for this and told me the shipment was delayed and that they thought it would be there in 1-2 days; I mentioned that I needed the camera by the weekend since I needed it for a job the following week. The salesperson told me they would expedite the delivery at their charge; he called me back on the 3rd and the gear was delivered as promised on the 5th, in good condition.
