"My CellCorner Crisis:
- New in the world of unlocking, I bought a remote unlock service from CellCorner naively believing that my order came with a cable to do the unlocking remotely (the description said "with cable").
- Remote Unlock log-in information was sent to me on the same day, now I just need the cable.
- Waited almost a month and no cable showed up in the mail. Wrote an e-mail to Customer Support regarding the cable and after a few exchanges over several days, I came to realize that my order does not come with a cable. I wrote back and told them I would like to cancel my order since I never used the log-in information and I will never be able to without a cable.
- Customer support wrote back with "Unused credit will be refunded within 7-10 days. Cancellation fee will apply." I was mad that I would get a cancellation fee even though their return policy shows nothing about it (they changed their policy since). Despite that, I still wanted to cancel the order.
- More than 10 days has passed and no refund and no replies were returned to me. These people are terrible! I cannot do a complaint with PayPal because the 45 day appeal period was over. I went up the next step and took it to the BBB.
- Finally, a month after filing my complaint with the BBB, I got my refund minus a cancellation fee. According to BBB, CellCorner stated "Our cancellation policy clearly states that we do not give refunds for unlocking/flashing credits and other intangible products. This refund is one time courtesy refund." They wrote me an e-mail saying my refund will be processed in 7-10 days and their return policy does not state no refunds (if it does now, that is because they changed it after this matter).
- Final note: This company has terrible customer service if you ever have a problem and you need to contact them. They'll ignore your pleas because they know they can. They know they are an Internet company that can just disappear. So be aware of that. I also notice that they like to advertise their company in unscrupulous ways. They would post on forums with a link to a new product to unlock a certain phone and the link would lead to their business."
"I made my order to Cellcorner.com for an unlock code for my v3re. My order came within the specified time frame and I must say that I am VERY SATISFIED with their service. I would DEFINATELY buy from them again. Just thought I would let you know that their service is more than worth the money!"
"*** YOU CAN IGNORE THE ABOVE RATING CAUSE IT IS NOT TRUE IN ALL CASES***
On March 05 2008, I paid for an unlock code for Motorola L6 i-mode and was quickly invoiced and charged but did NOT receive my unlock code within the promised timeframe (2-24 hours).
March 06-09/2008 - Wrote several follow up emails and made attempts at using Live Help on their company website but these were completely ignored.
March 10/2008 - Received email from Cellcorner advising Order has been shipped but NO EMAIL WITH UNLOCK CODE was supplied. Checked online order status which was changed by the Company from Processed to Complete, but that is completely untrue as nothing was delivered.
I have disputed the transaction with my card issuer. Do not purchase from Cellcorner.
March 20/2008 - No updates. Cellcorner have NOT delivered working unclock code as promised. Do not purchase from Cellcorner - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED."
"My order has not been completed, I have mailed information on the pay, cellcorner this site is a fraud, they are thieves."
"I must confess I thought the code will never arrive. They said it would take from 4 to 20 working days and that is the way it was. I received my unlock code for my 8300 blackberry by e mail, I followed the instructions and that's all. IT'S UNLOCKED. MAybe these guys should take the time to check the inquiries sent through e-mail. Quite satisfied with the service."
"I purchased a Motorola unlock code for a RAZR. The process and delivery occurred within 2 hours.
I purchased the unlock code to reprogram the phone. However, the unlock code only works by inserting another provider's SIM card, which wasn't known until after I received the unlock code. So I had to go to the Internet and purchase a T-Mobile SIM card so I could enter the unlock code (another $20).
I just received the card today, 4 days later, and was able to successfully unlock the telephone."
"these folks guaranteed my money back if im not totally satisfied!! i ordered the unlock code..it was supposed to arrive within minutes of payment..that was on the 3rd..today (6th)i get an email giving me the code..too late,i found a site that was much quicker and cheaper,,i have a dispute for my money back at pay pal for misrepresentation and i want my money back!!"
"I will never order from these theives again. I placed an order for an unlock code that was supposed to be emailed to me within 24 hours. @ days later i receive an email saying that my order was cancelled because they could not verify my credit card info. Well, the theives took the money out of my account! They will not return my emails! What a bunch of slimeballs!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!"
"Don't bother with this website for getting unlock codes for multiserver client. It's been several hours and I've received nothing. After much trial trying several multiserver reseller websites the best is "http://www.totalmultiserver.co.uk/". A little pricey but credit info came in instantly and guess the credit wasn't actually expired like some other websites I tried. got my phone debranded successfully. I received the passwords 4 days later. took too long.they should say so on their website that it may be up to 3-10 days or whatever. if i knew that i wouldn't have bothered ordering from there."
"Buying from CellCorner was the worst purchasing experience I've ever had. I purchased an unlock code, but the code they provided me with did not work. I contacted their e-mail support, which suggested all sorts of things to try, all of which I happily tried but to no avail. After they finally exhausted all of their ideas, I asked for a refund. They said I'd need to send them a video of the code not working, so I did so. Despite that, and that their web site clearly advertised a "it either works or you get a full refund" policy, they refused. It wasn't that they stated a reason for not refunding me, it's just that all three times I asked they pretended like I hadn't and replied only to other parts of the e-mail.
Finally I filed a complaint with the local department of consumer affairs (both they and I are in New York City), who left them repeated messages. CellCorner ignored these and didn't respond. That's right, they blanked their local DCA. This is a good-sounding business, right?
I'm filling out the necessary forms to take the small claims court right now. These guys are liars and thieves, plain and simple. Use one of their competitors instead, they can't possible be as bad as these guys."
"The order process was simple. I got my unlock code when them said I would. I'm very happy with the whole experience.
Thanks Cellcorner.com !"
"I don't think you guys should do business with this CellCorner. It is almost like a scam. I ordered unlock code for my sony ericsson w810i and i got it like a week later, but the code didn't work. So I sent them email saying that code is not working and i want another one. I haven't gotten a single respond to my email for weeks. I should have read the feedbacks before getting ripped off. "
"It took more time fore these guys to give me the code... But it worked really fine and their instructions to unlock m y phone were really great!!! "
"Unlock Code did not work as advertised. Web site is designed to be misleading and not tell you that you need to buy their custom cable for their code to work. Then when you discover this after the purchase they refuse to even respond to any customer service questions or even provide a refund for that matter. Additionally their web site does not work with all browsers. "
"I ordered an unlocking code for my BlackBerry. Unfortunately, they took about 48 hours instead of the promised 24 hrs and there was a strange charge made to my account (though it was later cleared up). Also, when I sent them an inquiry, I never received any response.
But, in the end I did receive the unlocking code I paid for."
