"I have been purchasing my dog food from CHEWY.com for the past 5 years. I never once had a bad experience. Their customer service has always been beyond polite. If I have any questions about dog food, supplements, ect., customer service researches my questions and finds the best product for my dogs needs. They never rush you on the phone. It feels like you are having a conversation with a close friend! I received an auto shipment and a few day later my Great Dane Bruno passed. I called Chewy to cancel the auto shipments and the young man was sweet to me and sympathetic to my loss. He offered to refund my last dog food shipment. A few day later I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers. What a great company!!!!"

"I recently purchased a raincoat for my dog that I needed to exchange for a larger size. I called customer service and the representative was very pleasant and helpful. She stated that a larger size would be sent out today and asked that if I didn't mind, donate the incorrect size that I have. Once again, the ease of doing business with Chewy is remarkable and their employee customer service is reflective of a good company, as well. The customer service person (Reiley or Riley..unsure of spelling) represents the company well and Chewy is fortunate to have such an employee... especially during this busy Christmas season! My dogs food is on auto ship monthly and I have never had a problem. Keep up the good work Chewy!!!"
"I've been ordering my dogs' harder to find food (Victor Hi-Pro) and a few supplies for our new puppy over the past few months and have loved the ease of ordering and quick delivery. Today I had my mind blown when utilizing the Customer Service Chat function. We had ordered an x-large plastic travel crate for our large breed puppy, but the incorrect size arrived. I was able to log into the chat almost immediately and was greeted by a friendly and exceedingly efficient customer service rep. In less than 2 minutes, she had the correct size crate on its way to me. Maybe my standards should be higher, but in today's robotic service world, I was so impressed and relieved to get quick and no-hassle assistance from an actual human being. Will definitely keep using Chewy for as many of my pet supplies as I can. "
"Buyer be careful. Chewy.com takes money twice out of your account. Once as a hold and then once again when your order is shipped. The hold takes several days to drop off. BE CAREFUL even on credit cards they do this."
"I really love Chewy.com. It's unbelievable how much this website has made my life easier. I don't have to go into pet stores anymore (it breaks my heart to see all of those animals in improper housing), I don't have to think about going on an errand when we run out of food or litter because by the time we run out a new shipment is on our doorstep. I love being able to get almost everything I need for 4 animals of 2 species from one place. Plus, Stormageddon absolutely adores this house I made him out of the Chewy box"
"I have been a customer of Chewy.com for years. The customer service was always excellent, putting my kitty supplies on autoship was just very convenient, and the prices competitive. So when my cat, Domino, of 20 years passed away, I called to cancel all future orders, and end my autoship plan. They were very compassionate and understanding over the phone that day. and one week later I received a Beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers with a hand written condolence note!!
It was soo touching, and very much appreciated.It is so rare that a company treats their customers with this level of compassion.

However, Matthew L not only refunded that product, but also gave me videos to play for our puppy when leaving for work and told me to use yogurt in the Kong we purchased because it has great probiotic benefits. I was about to stop using Chewy as my primary source of pet products, but I will absolutely use them many more times now! "

Cons:
Their customer service has no accountability except to regurgitate their script
They raise prices without notice. The 3-day notice that your order is shipping is insufficient (you need the food by then).
They change their policy when they actually ship and when you actually receive it.
They will charge you before they actually ship it. They are suppose to charge you when they ship it; not before.
There "love of animals" does not come through when you have an issue.
Their "free" shipping is after you hit $50. Most places ship for cheaper. There's no reason not to ship with a $30 or $40 order. They are getting a discount already on those costs because they are a volume shipper.
Overall, they aren't the great company they pretend to be. Moving on and I'll be saving money elsewhere on shipping and on minimum order required, for the same price and the same product. I insist on excellent customer service (which is scarce these days). I will pay more if I have to but then at least I'm responsible for what is happening."

"Chewy customer service resolved an issue I had with my auto-ship order in under 5 minutes. The company was willing to donate the mistake to animals in need, which strikes a chord with me. Any company willing to lose money and help animals out of the goodness of their hearts deserves 5 stars in my book. "The last 48 hour have been extremely heartbreaking. Long story short completely unexpected circumstances caused us to have to put our dog to sleep. It's been agonizing. Just a few days before I had placed a large 61 dollar order at Chewy.com. It arrived lightning fast, just in time for us to take our very beloved dog to the vet to be put down. Having 3 large bags just delivered, I didnt want to waste the food or the money and wondered if it even made sense to see if chewy might take it back. I expected shipping it back would cost too much and there would be a restocking fee. Still, I opened a chat with chewy.com just to see if it was even remotely feasible. I gave them a small paragraph story about the situation and asked if it made any sense to send it back. Their near immediate response was to tell me that the full price I had paid had just been credited back to my credit card. Just like that. When I asked about getting the food back to them, they told me they did not want it back but preferred I donate it to a local animal shelter in my pet's name. I am amazed and humbled by the heart that chewy.com showed us during this immensely tough time and the fact they wanted the food donated to a local shelter - even while refunding us in full tells me a lot about how great a company this is. I truly appreciate this and will tell this story whenever it seems appropriate to do so. Really quite amazing and deeply appreciated."
"I love Chewy.com. It's easy, fast, convenient and they offer almost everything...except the occasional promo code for valued customers, like every other pet supply place online. It's nice that first-time customers get a 20% off deal, but what about the rest of us who keep coming back? With 6 dogs and 4 cats, Chewy gets over $1000 from me every year. It would be nice if they showed their appreciation by sending a holiday coupon now and then. I'm just sayin'..."
"Normally this company is very good but when they can't handle the volume or they are going to get an order to you well after their promised 2 day deliver they get an F in communication. I had an automatic order placed at 1am on a Friday. Normally my orders ship the same day even when placed in the afternoon and I get the order the next day. In this case, they never shipped the order until Saturday and they shipped it from a warehouse that well exceeds their promised 2 day delivery. So now the order that was placed Friday am will not be received until sometime Wednesday and that's if it gets here then. They never communicated any of this to me and if I hadn't checked on my order I would not have had any clue the order was going to be delayed. The food I get from them is not one that can be found locally so now I'm having to feed my dog less to make it last. This is the worst customer service EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "
