"Coinbase
I’m really tired of **** around with your company. I signed up today and provided my license for verification which was successful. No more than 20 minutes later it asked me to go through the same verification process again which is ridiculous. I do a lot of crypto business with other exchanges and will not do business with yours. Your process is absolutely insane, and this comes from someone that owns a global security company. "
"My account is over 5 years old, is level 3 verified but now it says verification in progress so can't do anything. Create support case (no 05063446) but still nothing. "
"They are a bit of a mess... at some point they must have done a big account migration in their databases in order to comply with new US regulations. This process seems to have corrupted my account - my name was gobbledygook numbers and other people's names in a string. Some links in the UI went to their development server. Other links resulted in infinite loops. I contacted customer support multiple times but they only said that their security algorithm states I'm not eligible to use their platform and they refuse to provide any info or help beyond that... except... I never used their platform. This stuff was broken before I ever got around to verifying my identity, making trades, buying crypto, etc. At this point all they knew about me was my email address. Their algorithm is broken and their customer service is anti-customer.
After a bit of research I signed up with Kraken instead. Verification took under two hours. Interface and service is far more feature-rich than Coinbase but doesn't feel overwhelming. Like Coinbase they operate in the legal space approved by the US Gov - making it a safe platform for people looking to invest in crypto."
"A fantastic introductory platform for exploring how to buy, sell, and use bitcoin. Coinbase doesn't aim for the highest privacy standards that are possible in the bitcoin environment, but the website presentation indicates that bitcoin is becoming a legitimate digital currency and that a level of trust has been established. After two dozen various transactions, no abnormalities or surprises have been encountered. BOTTOM LINE: Coinbase serves as an excellent way to discover bitcoin's expanding uses."
"Easy to set up an account but they limit your purchase value weekly. Not helpful if you are investing. You can link a bank account, debit card or use wire transfers. Well I linked a bank account and made a test purchase of one lightcoin for about $300. I got a message that it would take about 5 days to appear in my wallet. Even though I had several thousand dollars in my linked bank account they canceled my order on the 5th day stating that my bank had refused payment. So I contacted my bank and the had no idea why coinbase was saying that as they had no record of a transaction request. Of course there is no possibility of reaching a live person at coinbase for support help, so I filled out a form for help and submitted. In the meantime I have another order in play but since the value has also risen on that purchase I’m assuming they will keep my coins and resel to someone else at a higher price like I assume the did with my first purchase. Nothing less than theft really. My linked bank account originally had a 5K weekly limit. Then I verified my identity by submitting a photo ID and filling out some more info. That increased my cash account limit with coinbase from 10k to 15k. In the same stroke the dropped my linked account limit fro 5K to 2k. Well my current ETH order is over the 2k, but less than my weekly limit of 5K. I still do know know why my limit was reduced by 3k just because I verified myself in their system. I assume I will loose my gains of over $500 because they will block my purchase again. This company in my experience ranges from deceptive to downright theviery. I have done everything they have requested and still lost money with them. BEWARE!!! "
