"I placed an order online for a laptop and chose PayPal to pay. The system gave PayPal my entered shipping address which caused it to be rejected. There was no opportunity on the site to specify a billing address when you use PayPal or GoogleCheckout. I got a brief email that wasn’t signed telling me to contact PayPal. I responded in half an hour that it seemed they had used my shipping address and could they re-place with the other address I had already entered into my account. They replied that they couldn’t. Three hours later I called and it rang perhaps 10 times and a woman answered who sounded not exactly happy with her job. She said that they couldn’t re-place my order with a credit card over the phone because they don’t take orders over the phone. She then said that my product was “end of life and being phased out by the manufacturer” and that they had just sold the last one. This was three hours after their email to me regarding the address mixup which is a design flaw on their site. I realize that they can’t hold product for every order that has an error, but three hours, when I had responded to their initial email in half an hour and requested to re-order with the proper address?
I was curious about the “phased out” part because the laptop had just come out and asked a Dell rep. They said that it wasn’t being phased out. I then realized that Dell wasn’t showing that model with that hard drive space. The Colamco rep never said that. She just said “This product is end of life and is being phased out” rather than “We have the same model with a smaller hard drive.”
These guys are cheap for a reason.

"I had a terrible experience with Colamco. After three months of waiting for a product to restock in their inventory, Colamco shipped it to the wrong address in my town. Their policy would not allow me to re-route the package through the courier or pick it up myself, so the product had to be re-shipped to Colamco. Nevertheless, Colamco would not issue me a prompt refund or offer me a kind gesture for the inconvenience. I am still waiting for either the product or my money. Colamco has to realize that I did not buy their product from their warehouse, so I should not have to wait for their warehouse to receive the package from the courier before I get my refund. I have never dealt with such poor customer service from an online store. The FTC will hear from me and, if I do not see my money within one more week, my lawyer will come into the picture as well.
In response to the Colamco rebuttal below:

I should not have to wait for Colamco to issue me a refund because of its mistake. It is not my business whether the product arrives at the warehouse or not. If Colamco cannot deliver the product as I requested given its inability to print my address on their package, which was clearly stated in my original order, then that is not my problem. The timing of this return was scheduled in weeks, not days. To make matters even worse, Fedex confirmed that the package had returned to Colamco and was in its possession, though not at its warehouse. Therefore, there was no need to further delay my refund.

The constant contact Colamco is referring to was not constant. Telling me to “call next week to see whether the product has arrived at the warehouse,” is not my definition of constant communication. Only when I threatened to pursue legal action about this matter did Colamco’s accounting department solve this problem.
Finally and coincidentally, I am happy to report that a few days ago, I purchased the same Sony picture frame for two (2) dollars less than I had paid at Colamco. The product was shipped within 24 hours and with no problems whatsoever.

A rep from COLAMCO, , has responded:
“The customer was made aware of the backorder at the time he placed the order and the order was kept open following the customer’s explicit instruction to do so. When one unit became available in July, once again we confirmed with the customer that he still wanted the product shipped which we he did and we shipped it on July 29th. When he called to check on it, we found out it went to the incorrect address. This was the only one available so we did not have a replacement to ship. We were unable to have it rerouted with Fedex as it was a "restricted shipment". The customer called Fedex and tried to have it re-routed also, but found out it could not be re-rerouted. He seemed ok with it at the time and said to reship it when it arrived. He called back at a later date and cancelled the reshipment. He was told we would issue the credit when it came back to the warehouse. The credit was issued on the 18th of August. Even though we were in constant contact with him, the customer had not notified us he was unhappy with how this was handled, or we may have been able to address his concerns.
