"I BOUGHT A WIRELESS SPEAKER SYSTEM FOR MY TV FROM COMFORTHOUSE. THIS WAS MY THIRD PURCHASE FROM THEM (FIRST FOR THIS ITEM THOUGH) AND THEIR SERVICE IS FAR SUPERIOR THAN OTHER MERCHANTS I HAVE DEALT WITH. THE MERCHANDISE ARRIVED PER TIME ADVERTISED AS USUAL AND THE PRODUCT ITSELF WORKS GREAT. WHAT YOU DO IS CONNECT IT TO YOUR TV AND THEN YOU CAN LISTEN ON HEADPHONES ANYWHERE IN THE ROOM. I LIKE TO STAY UP LATE TO WATCH TV IN BED AND NOW MY HUSBAND CAN SLEEP WITHOUT BEING DISTURBED."
"Poor customer service! Order placed on 11/28/11 and payment made same day. Received email stating order was placed with a link to check on ship times. Followed link and it stated drop-shipped item. Waited 10 days and no delievery. Called and could not get a person, was told to leave a message. No one called back but I finally get an email and it states the item is backordered and going to take another 10 days to deliver. So, new deliver date is 12/17/11. I thought your checking account couldn't be debit'd until the item shipped? Last purchase I make at Comfort House!"
"My purchase was for a softheat low voltage electric blanket. This blanket may have been my best purchase ever. It heats up great and I love the safety aspect of it. It's comfortable too and will probably use as they recommend all year round. I ordered on a Tuesday and my blanket was delivered on Friday. It was quick and well packaged. All in all a perfect transaction. I will shop at Comfort House again."
"I wish I would have read these reviews before I purchased. I have purchased a handpresso expresso machine. I placed the order during the weekend and paid 2nd day air to make sure I have it for my trip. Come Monday, I wait till late afternoon for an email showing the package has shipped. No email received. I click on the link on the original purchase email to track the order and it still shows as not shipped. I call 4 times and a recording says leave a message. I finally leave a mesage and decide to email them as well. Of course no call back, no email response. What's the point of paying 2nd day shipping? I read the reviews prior to placing he order and they were mostly positive, so much for that. Having no communication with first time or loyal customers is the kiss of death to any business. Do not bother purchasing from this company. "
"Just in time for summer we purchaed a casita screenhouse from comforthouse.com. This is my new outdoor room. It arrived quicker then I anticipated and was relatively easy to put together (but make sure you have 2 people available because this is required; expect to spend an afternoon). Overall very pleased with purchase and service."
"I ordered a burr grinder and it arrived well packed. However the bean hopper was cracked. Comfort House handled it flawlessly and replaced the hopper.
I am very satisfied with the product/speed/price/service."
"I'm an experienced online shopper whose been around block. I've had the opportunity to deal with the good and the bad. All I can say is Comfort House went far beyond my expectations and is one of the best online shopping experiences I've ever had. For one, they have real people who were genuinely interested in my concerns (I had to phone them prior to purchase with a question) and in my business. Nowadays it's hard to get someone to even say thank you. Comfort House exuded thanks. They delivered ahead of schedule and I'm thrilled with the quality of the merchandise. I will definitely recommend them to others."
"I decided to order an outdoor fountain from this establishment and since it was an expensive purchase I called first with some questions. The customer service representative was surprisingly helpful and provided me with the answers I needed. Their brown delivery truck was efficient and delivered the merchandise to my stoop in around 5 days. Because of the size of the box I had to wait for my neighbor to help me unpack it. Nothing was broken and it was very well packed. My handyman came by and set it up for me in my front yard. I love how it is solar powered and my electrician was not needed. It is now the talk of the street. I am very appreciative of Comfort House and there service and will shop with them again."
"This is a Comfort House response to the review written by ccastracane. We were unable to respond as part of the review as we had done previously because when we logged in the site advised us it would now cost $249 per month to join in order to respond to a complaint.
Ccastracane posted this complaint on multiple forums and this was our response sent on another forum on 12/31/10:
Ccastracane placed her order on the evening of December 13th for a custom made map puzzle. This is a jigsaw puzzle customized with a map centered on the address you specify. It is made-to-order in the UK and has an advertised 2-3 week delivery time in our product description. Our cut-off for Christmas delivery did not pertain to this item. Our holiday schedule says any item advertised with a 2-3 week delivery time should not be expected to arrive any sooner than the time stated in the description.
Our holiday schedule was posted on every page of our website and on all pages in the checkout process to prevent any delivery surprises.
An email shipping notification was sent to CCastracane on December 17th at 7:24AM Eastern time. It is a time and date stamped email. We apologize that she did not receive it. When she contacted us on 12/21 she received a response from us the same day. She wrote back to us to state she was never provided with the information about delivery time. She also stated it was "certainly not during the checkout process".
This item ships via postal service and it it true that no tracking information is provided by the factory for this particular product. Given that it is made in the UK, the logistics of it are somewhat unsual; it is the only item of the 15,000 that we carry in which a tracking number is not available.
Unfortunately the much publicized weather conditions in the UK many have caused some shipping delays but we expect CCastracane will receive her order soon. We will phone her next week to follow up and iron out any issues.
The Hometown Map puzzle is one of our greatest gifts and we hope this not very fair review does not discourage others from purchasing it or shopping with Comfort House.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Gornstein

As further follow up, we did leave a phone message on Monday for her to contact us but as of yet she has not."
"AWFUL! STAY AWAY!
I ordered an item on December 14th - 3 days before their cutoff date for delivery by Christmas (December 16th). I received an order confirmation and then no other communications. On December 21st I contacted them to inquire about my purchase and was told that my order was being shipped and that standard shipping time was 2-3 weeks! They also told me that I had received an email saying that the order had shipped. I emailed back to complain about the long delivery time and lack of warning on their part. I also noted that I had never received an email stating that the order had shipped. Funny enough, the next day that email arrived along with an email stating that not only was there nothing they could do about my getting my order to me, but that "no tracking information was provided".
Poor customer service, awful shipping times and a lack of tracking information all made for one ruined Christmas gift."
"I found a medic alert bracelet through them and ordered, typed in the text and waited. Processing took longer than they posted it would, by a week.
When the package came, there was a typo in the printing (life threatening one, Protein S Deficiency only listed Protein Deficiency - that was a critical error). I called immediately and was treated to some confusion (told at first I was *wrong*, I must have typed it in wrong (though the invoice verified my order text), then told to mail it back, including the invoice. I had to *pay the return shipping* for their mistake, and wait all the longer. (This felt so rude!) The product that came was different than ordered and was sent the first time, but with the correct print. If you want time wasted, money wasted, and abysmally bad service, by all means, shop here. Oh, and last, a replacement invoice was not given the second shipment, though I had been promised one and did include the original as asked when returning the first bracelet... so I no longer even have a receipt for taxes."
"This is one customer who won't be back. READ THEIR RETURN POLICY CAREFULLY BEFORE PLACING AN ORDER. I ordered an electric blanket for a Christmas gift on November 21st. It arrived (after an email prompt) on December 8th. Two days after Christmas, we tried the blanket and it was defective. I would have been more than happy to return the blanket and order a new one, but that was not an option. Comfort House directed me to the manufacturer, who offered to send a new control, but I declined. If the problem was NOT the control, the blanket would still be non-operational and need to be returned. I spent $8.50 to return the blanket via UPS. Today I received an email confirming that my account has been credited LESS a 15% restocking fee. So, here is a recap of a sterling transaction from start to finish: Original order: Blanket = $89. Comfort House charged $9.95 to ship and added tax of $6.93 (which taxed not only the merchandise but shipping as well)for a grand total of $105.88. I spent $8.50 to send the blanket back, and have received a credit of $75.65. Translation: I spent $38.73 for nothing. Also, please note that I was charged a "restocking fee." This means someone else will be sent this defective blanket.
Comfort House washes their hands of you once an order has been placed. I did NOTHING wrong and have been made to feel as if I were asking for something unreasonable. Their Customer Service is intractable. Good luck to them. Next stop BBB. "
"I placed an order for 2nd day delivery and received a confirmation email. The order not delivered as promised in the confirmation. I sent an email inquiring about the order. I was told that shipping charges were under-quoted by $400. I responded asking that they ship by freight. They claim not to have received that response (but 2 weeks later they responded to the email they claimed not to have received).
That was the summary. Here is the full story.
I placed an order for 3 patio heaters from these guys. I chose them based on their extensive collection and doing comparative shopping. The date of the order was late November. Because I was throwing an outdoors party on the 17th of December, I wanted to ensure the items got to me on time, so I selected 2nd day shipping. I received an email indicating that the order was received and accepted.
Then a week went by. NOTHING. No shipment, no further email, nothing. I tried calling, but they do not have anyone around on the weekends. So I emailed them.
Even though I had previously received a confirmation that the order was received and confirmed for 2-day delivery, I received an email saying that they could not ship my order 2nd day air for the price they quoted, but they could do it if I paid $450 for shipping. I responded by December 8 email, asking them to send it freight. No response. AGAIN. I checked the status of the order on the web site, and it indicated that the order had been cancelled. I did not ask for it to be cancelled; in fact, my December 8 email requested it be sent by freight. THEN, I wrote back asking what was going on. They responded that they had not heard from me so they cancelled. They denied having an email from me. I thanked them and moved on to buy at FrontGate (always great service). 2 weeks later another Comfort House customer service person responded to my December 8 email (the one they denied having) saying that they would ship the order.
There is just one thing you must know: THESE GUYS ARE NOT RELIABLE. Run, Run. Shop elsewhere.

"I ordered seven curtains. When my order finally arrived, only three products were the correct item that I ordered. I called and emailed their "rude" customer service department several times. They said that it was my fault that I received the wrong size and color. They excused themselves by referring to their terms of sale. I was charged a high shipping fee, paid for return shipping, and was charged a restocking fee of 15%. I could have saved money in the end by ordering from Target. Target might cost a little more, but you can return it to any store without having to pay a restocking fee. Shop elsewhere! "
"Very satisfied with transaction. Would probably purchase from them again. Only gripe is shipping costs too expensive."
