"I ordered a 400gb seagate barracuda SATA drive p/n ST3400832AS. They sent me a hitachi drive instead. When I called they told me that they had called and ok'd it with me. They kept insisting this even saying that "maybe someone else there answered the call because we have it on record." I challenged them to give me the date and time of the call and they kept bluffing. After a while they tried to change tack and started to try to intimidate me into accepting the wrong drive. The guy kept asking me what was difference, what was the big deal. I told him the seagate has a fluid dynamic bearing which makes it cooler and quieter and it doesn't use a bridge chip so the data path is completely serial and that the drive supports NCQ. He hadn't a clue. These guys are constantly the cheapest folks on pricewatch but the hassle and such makes it just not worth it. The only way I could get them to send me a replacement was to threaten to look up with my phone company the records of when they supposedly called."

"I received two identical DOA SATA hard drives. I accidentally missed the ten-day return period by one day because I waited to get a different SATA drive to test my motherboard in case it was the problem, but when I contacted CompBus about replacing the drives, I didn't hear anything at all from them - even "Sorry, you've passed the 10-day return period...".

I checked out reviews *after* I had this experience, and all I see are negative reviews. So I'm adding mine to the list.

Shop somewhere with a longer return period in case you are waiting on several parts from different vendors, and always read reviews *before* you buy.

Thankfully, Hitachi RMAed both drives and I will be getting them replaced.

"Placed order for an ABIT NF7-M on Jan. 14th, 2005, and asked for ground shipping. They sent me an email 2 days later stating what I was purchasing, however they did not give me the tracking number or the shipper they were using. I called them to inquire about the shipper used and tracking info., the guy on the other end told me to call sales. Called sales, no one answered. I emailed sales department 3 TIMES!!! All my emails went unanswered. Finally, 10 DAYS later, I called again because I needed this board for a customer, the guy looks up my order and then tells me that they are out of stock on that item. WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU ADVERTISE AN ITEM WHICH YOU DON'T HAVE???? He did offer me an alternative, but I passed because 10 days was already wasted, and I already decided to buy the same motherboard at newegg.com for less. I will never use this company again. They are not serious when it comes to handling business, so why should I support them. I am shopping only at newegg.com, monarchcomputers.com and excaliburpc.com from now on. They are the only vendors that I have used in the past that haven't failed me. STAY AWAY FROM THIS VENDOR! "

"After waiting about 2 weeks for a shipping confirmation after placing my order i was going to contact them and find the status of my order. It was then when i seen an email from them stating the tracking number. I contacted them anyway to complain and they offered free 3day shipping which was a nice offer. They said someone will contact me the next day. Two days went by and no once had called so i just told them to cancel my order which by the way was already canceled for some reason according my order status. I didn't have time to fool around and wait for them to "think" about sending my order. I went to some other online store and received my product TWO DAYS! after placing my order and that was with FREE standard UPS ground. Their prices are very good by the way, but unless you are patient enought to wait a month i would say go somewhere else."

"I placed an order for a Maxtor DiamondMax 80GB back in february, waited about a week and still no drive. Called and they said they sent out an email saying they cancelled my order. I checked my email box AFTER I talked to them and low and behold, I had JUST recieved a notice that day. Today 8/8/04, I tried to call and see if they had a 120GB SATA Deskstar because they advertise the lowest price I have seen. Guess what? Out of stock. These are not rare products, they should have plenty of stock if they are in business. Why advertise if you are not going to deliver. I think the guy is running this out of his house. Don't waste your time, to try and save a few bucks!"

"I ordered a hard drive from this company and received an email confimation with a site where I could check the status of my order. When I checked the status it said it had been cancelled and the tracking number listed was "not in stock." The order was cancelled with no prior notification. However, the company had sent an authorization to my credit card for the amount of the purchase. They cancelled the order but never released the funds. I had to call four times long distance to try to get this resolved. It took nine days before this problem was fixed and my credit card was released. Compbus told me that my account would be cleared in about 30 days and it was not their responsibility to issue the release. I will never buy from them again. I suggest no one else does either."

"I placed the order, they tried to charge me $14 shipping, instead of $4. They said they would adjust it later. Then, after waiting for 3 days, I checked the status, and they had cancelled the order! "This vendor is a total nightmare. I ordered a DVD burner thru PriceWatch. Once I had completed the order thru Yahoo, it took me to a pay thru Paypal entry screen. I cancelled at this point and received a message that my card had not been charged. When I checked my bank account later than day, the order total had been taken out. I sent e-mail to get the order status. I did receive an e-mail back giving a link to the order status. The order was marked cancelled, but the charge on my card was still there. I have sent e-mail stating to remove the charge. If this does not happen within the next few days, I will be forced to get the card company involved, and then Yahoo shopping resolution process. I wish I had known about this site before I bought. I would have never bought if I had read the comments on this vendor before hand. In any case, I'll update this entry on what happens next."

"The product on the website might not be in stock and they will notify about 5 days later with a counter offer, which is way over priced. Made a purchase but they were not interested in providing the product nor the trying to correct the mistake cause the product that was not instock was still there...
