This is a general complaint. I was never given any tracking number for my order, and had to call customer service 3 times just to find out my tracking number. Then I had to call USPS and CompUSA customer service just to find out that the number was totally invalid. After wasting a week on finding this out, the only course of action given to me was a "investigation" which would waste ANOTHER 7-10 days, tallying up almost half a month for a simple purchase. On top of this, the last representative that I spoke to attempted to bait me into a random membership offer that I wasn't interested in to save $20, and made the offer sound as if the reason it was given to me was because of the problems I encountered so far. The fact that I will waste a minimum of 2 weeks and several customer service calls just to get my item to SHIP is totally ridiculous. On top of that, baiting me into a random membership during all of this is just insulting. Since CompUSA claims to value feedback, I will say that my shopping experience here is absolutely terrible, and indicates that not only do I have to be prepared for invalid information, and repeated customer service calls, but I also need to be wary of unnecessary memberships disguised as discount offers for a obvious and major mistake. Again, the experience was terrible and a major waste of time, and I will make sure to consider this on my next purchase, if I ever come back again.
*Amendment: My package has arrived, despite being 'lost' as described by customer service. Also, the package arrived slightly damaged (retail box was ripped). Given the condition of the shipment, and the confusion and inconvenience described earlier, my rating does not change. The experience was poor overall. Now to go call customer service yet again to cancel their 'investigation'.
*Amendment 2: Yet more problems have arisen, although some is partially attributed to bad luck. The item I received was defective, as confirmed by personal testing and communication with the tech support of Adesso (brand of the product). Contacted CompUSA for a replacement and they were unable to do so as the product was out of stock (guess I bought the last one) and there was no equivalent alternative for exchange. Although the cause of the defect is unknown, the fact that the package arrived in a damaged retail box (originally packed with a outer cardboard box and a crumpled piece of paper; not very robust) probably didn't help. I am forced to go with a RMA process with Adesso for replacement; not a very quick or ideal endeavor.
I appreciate that CompUSA has replied to this review, but this purchase has only gone from bad to worse, and I still end up playing the waiting game for a product replacement. Once again, my rating and opinion remains the same."
