"The purchase of this laptop was without a problem. I once had a question about the rebate process and their customer service was a big help. This computer will be a gift for our granddaughter who is graduating from High School. I know she will love this gift."
"El service provided by compusa was really good they keep tracking my order fine."
"The backpack was better then I expected, had a problem using the mouse with my acer aspire-one, the dvd drive did work well with it. It did use up the battery quickly."
"What a great buy on a laptop! It's beautiful. Never thought I'd get an HP laptop for less than $400 (after rebate) - haven't even seen any new ones for less than in the $600 price range. And it's loaded!
I love the new Vista (don't have that on home PC), wireless capability (great as run a home-based business & won't have to impose on anyone or run out to use a computer when out of town), really good sized screen with wonderful color and clarity, came with 2 GB standard & free extra 1 GB.
Haven't had it long enough to get it going to full potential, but will before too much time has passed. Thought it was great I didn't need to be on-line to download the operating systems and came with 3 CD's to restore any lost data.
Worked for years on a laptop and know they're not as ergonically friendly as a fully adjustable PC, but still very comfortable, and compatible with plug-ins, optional add-on features to compensate for that if necessary.
The operating speed is super for what I use, trust the Hewlitt Packard line as being top-notch, has the intel and lots of other extras. It's just a huge weight of my mind if the PC ever has a major breakdown knowing I've got this up and running and ready to go.
Couldn't be happier or more pleased with this product, manufacturer, price, and the peace of mind knowing I have a back up computer as my income relies on my ability to keep things running smoothly. And on top of that - knowing I won't miss the all important emails from my son in Iraq, my friends (not to be neglected as we all need our friends and it's too easy with owning a business to get cut out of social life because it's so consuming), plus can do all the photo work I need to do, use it with existing printer, speakers, etc., and it does have the capacity as well to have photo and voice communication. Actually, it does so much and I've had it such a short period time, for as much as I've discovered on it doesn't compare to how much more exists it has that I haven't even been able to get to yet!
Absolutely a super purchase, a "can't touch it price" for the product, and a great backup for me - and a pretty good idea for anyone who does a lot on the computer.
As far as I can tell this is a 5 STAR product and very happy I took a chance on it! Wasn't in the budget, but loosing my work would have cost so much more, absolutely worth it!
And would have never known about it if CompUSA hadn't been sending the "deals" notices out - they'll never land in my "Junk Mail"!
Kudos, CompUSA! And thanks a million!"
"Re: COMPUSA order# P1076505
Hello,
It should be noted that Chris at COMPUSA telephone sales extension 5814 spent a half hour on the phone delivering the highest quality, excellent customer service while looking for memory for me, verifying which type would be compatible with a Dell Dimension 4100 desktop which is at least 7 years old. Due to the age of the Dell E139761 Intel Pentium III PC motherboard, it takes care and effort verify the type of memory, and the maximum amount that the motherboard will support.
In several lengthy phone calls with Dell customer service and technical representatives, (trying to get the information Chris at COMPUSA subsequently gave me,) I received conflicting and incorrect information that came from Dell representatives who were not able to confirm what memory I need and how much the computer will support.
The Dell customer service/technical representatives found it difficult to stay aware of facts and correct numbers associated with the computer and were down right impolite, uncourteous, and nasty to me in every way. They did not know the words “please,” I’m sorry,” or “I apologize Sir.” Instead they raised their voices (all of them I spoke to in 5 phone calls), denied giving me their representative ID #s stating they are not allowed to, and put me on holds that lasted as long as I could wait in attempts to get me to hang up after I requested to speak to a manager or supervisor.
What ended up happening to me every time I was put on hold, was I waited 30-60 minutes before I hung up, knowing a supervisor was not coming to answer my call. This is simply standard operating procedure by Dell Telephone representatives when you ask to speak to their supervisors. You will not speak to a supervisor should you need one.
This method was done on 5 occasions in the last two weeks with Dell, to end my call and make sure I can not contact Dell with a positive identifier of what telephone representatives I was speaking to, to report this nasty behavior and extremely angry and unprofessional customer service.
The worst instance occurred yesterday, May 18th between 5pm-8pm EST sometime when I called and spoke to a Dell telephone representative who of course refused to give me his Rep. ID #, but identified himself as “Jay Z.” Jay Z told me he confirmed that my computer “could support up to 1GB of memory because it was built around the year 2001.” I told him that a year was no way to confirm how much memory a pc can handle. Once I asked for his name, he told me “Jay Z,” and then refused to give me his Rep. ID#, asked me why I wanted to speak to his supervisor, and then yelled several verbal profanities so loud I almost couldn’t understand them. He then screamed that he would put me on hold for his supervisor. I waited just over 1 hour listening to automated Dell messages in Spanish because I suspect Jay Z transferred me to Spanish speaking line. Unfortunately, I do not speak Spanish.
This horrible customer service has earned a place in my life where I and my family and relatives and close friends will never purchase a Dell product, and I swear on anything sacred to me that I will only work to make sure that every person I speak about computers with at work, school, and in other personal interaction will know not to and be weary, if not afraid, to ever purchase a Dell Product, for fear they will one day rely upon Dell customer service telephone representatives for any help.
After waiting in futility on hold for a supervisor at Dell last night, I hung up and dialed COMPUSA. Chris at Extension 5814 was able to identify the computer after a thorough search of his database, finding the motherboard, the type of memory, and suggest how much my computer could support. He and I then spoke about how much the processor could possibly support considering there were 2 DIMMs slots installed. He suggested I place the order for 2 DIMMs and try a few different configurations with 128mb/256mb sticks of RAM to see how much the computer would handle, being that it would be difficult to confirm on such an old motherboard. I called knowing this, and Chris understood I just needed a technical sales representative who could have the knowledge and access to information that would help me configure and purchase memory for an older computer. He also reassured me that any unnecessary RAM could be returned minus any shipping charges. This was very reassuring!
Chris was Professional, courteous, and a pleasure to talk with. He had a sense of humor, technical experience, and a sincere care that I had a positive interactions with him as someone who needed technical advice and caring assistance.
Chris’ professionalism is seen only amongst the greatest and most successful individuals in any profession I have had the opportunity to work in. I feel it necessary that Chris’ ability and attitude be recognized as that of the best in all organizations and companies, anywhere.

"Just what I was looking for! A great laptop about two years out dated but "looking brand new". That's what I got. I think it is a new unit that was never sold/leased and couldn't be sold for up to date technology. Works great for what I use a PC for, email and internet. My 12 year old IBM T20 is still working but I thought it was time for a replacement."
" The Compusa shipping are really fast, package as well, But in the special list, only motherboard doesn't match the memory, becuase the MB only accept the memory fsb up to 667MHz, and the pormotion list the memory is 800MHz, totally is differents, hope compusa do good on next times..
Thank you"
"The order was easy to fulfill through the web and it was delivered on time as stated by the order confirmation. Very good service and I am sure that I will be ordering again. CompUSA has great deals, and the way to communicate by e-mail is great."
"I was worried at first whether my specific order gets delivered before Mother's day although I had choosen the economy option of delivery - Ground Transportation. To my surprise, the product got delivered just before the Mother's day ... perfect timing ... I do sincerely appreciate your response.
Best wishes,
DB"
"Fantastic monitor for the price. Plugged t right in with no issues and truly notice a difference from my older 17" monitor. Would recommend it to anyone."
"Excellent service. Memory was not shipped, but Customer Service was very responsive and entered an order for the missing part of the shipment. Easy to track shipment on line. Did not have to wait for customer service to answer the phone. "
"I bought the HP/Compaq 6735s. This is a great laptop. It is mostly as advertised. It may seem trivial, but one reason I truly went for this model was the wireless card. It was advertised as 802.11 b/g/n, but is only b/g. I was looking to transition my network to 802.11n while buffering my investment in additional new accessories (PCMCIA Cards). Oh, well.
I feel a bit cheated. Less than two and a half days after I made my purchase this very same laptop is offered with an additional stick of RAM for 50 dollars less than I paid.
The laptop was sweet to setup. On startup, it self configured and installed a fresh setup. I hate that Microsoft's software was so stale on the preload, it took more than 50 updates before the software updates were caught up to date.
The wizards were dynamic in setup. When connecting to my in house network, it negotiated the setup flawlessly. All it needed was a quick network scan and a proper password. It negotiated the type of security and setup was more than a breeze. I was on the network and starting the afore mentioned updates almost before I was ready.
This is much nicer than the petite netbooks and not as clunky as it's bigger brother laptops. It's a very good midrange unit.
I still prefer my MacBook Pro, but it is one of the nicest non-Mac's I've come across. If I had to buy another non-Mac, I would look again to HP/Compaq.
The delivery was great. My order was scheduled to arrive 5/7 and was promptly delivered before 11am 5/6. (A day after my initial order I ordered a RAM upgrade kit. It was scheduled to arrive 5/8. It arrived early as well by a full day.) Both were pleasant surprises. "
"HI:
services is good! Price is OK!
Iust take longer time to delivery! "
"I ordered two products at a great price. Shipping time was very quick. It turned out I had misunderstood what I needed for one of the products and had ordered the wrong one. I called customer service and they agreed to send me the correct item and issue me a RA to return the wrong item. I was very surprised and pleased when it arrived the next day even though I had not used overnight shipping for the original order. I installed the correct board and everything works great. Thanks COMPUSA for a great buying experience!"
"I was having problems with X-58 chipset getting hot and this little baby saved the day on my Asus Deluxe P6t v2. Worth ever penny and then some, Thinking of buying 2 more.If anyone out there has cooling problems on their chipsets this is the answer, buy 2."
