"fter spending approximately $12k and very happy initially with my purchase. I soon found out that they are only concerned about a sale. I had a saddle right at the yr mark but this one I recently put on my ride. It separated at the joint and ultimately snapped. I tried to work with the shop but told I could get a discount on a new saddle. Knowing Selle and coming from the industry in the past, they would of exchanged it. They are that good of a company. These guys could care less. Don’t spend your money here. They only want to take it."
"I am writing this while still on hold....again. I placed an order hours ago and also sent an email to 'sales' to make sure this is not shipped usps. I do not have usps home delivery. I then phoned, talked to an actual person and explained the same. This person verified it would ship UPS. Later the same day I now have a usps tracking number!
I have now spoken with 2 individuals, spent much time on hold, whom cannot solve this issue in a timely manner. I will definitely shop elsewhere with a reputable seller. They get 1 star for doing so well at doing so bad."
"Ordered a smart trainer and never received it and it says in the email it was refunded i never got anything to return it. called they said they dont even know what happened. would sent me another one but would have to charge me another $395. Which i refused because i never received this so called imaginary refund. Be very careful with these people a little sketchy and then on top of that they use a shipping comany i never heard of."
"Bought a new Campagnolo Record chain, was surprised when the pin wasn't in the package. Then i took a closer look and they had sold me a used chain (great way to ruin your drive train). When I called customer service they passed me on to a sister company who said they don't provide returns on chains. This was once a great company with very helpful staff, but it seems they have turn that over to a very unfriendly Backcountry" group. I was a pretty regular $2,000/year customer -- not any more..."
"Bought a $500 power meter crankset labelled as new, but to my surprise, as I unboxed it, there was grease all over it. The teeth of the crank had marks and the axle was UNDOUBTEDLY fitted into another bike, there are several scratches in the axle. My bike is parked during a global pandemic and I was waiting a week for this item, and now I can't return it when there are no substitutes available and having to wait several days/weeks for another product. Competitive Cyclist could not replace it, and customer service held me on a chat for 1 hour and did nothing. I offer to send pictures and they didn't even care to share me a contact email"

This place is something else. I have had mixed luck ordering in the past, but this past Christmas season was a real bonehead move. I ordered a wheelset at the end of November 2019 that showed in stock. I was given a tracking number the next day and it sat in the warehouse for 3 days with no movement. Then I checked again on the 4th day and the tracking number disappeared and now became backordered. Although it was backordered, my credit card was still charged so I was kind of stuck and couldn't order from another shop. I called to figure out what was wrong and I got the "Wow I am really sorry, I am not really sure what happened" garbage that I have heard from them before. So for the last piece I needed for my bike build, I was backordered with no delivery date in sight. I finally received the wheels after Christmas (what a joke) and have no complaint about the wheels themselves, just the way the situation was handled. Instead of just admitting the wrong, they pretended like they had no clue what had happened and that eventually I would receive the wheels and to just be patient. Never received one single answer for what had happened, an apology, an expedited order, no callbacks for any of my calls, or an alternative to what I had ordered. Just ghosted me completely.
So I had cooled off since then and went ahead and ordered some cycling kits from them on April 1st, 2020 as they had some pretty decent prices. My order was canceled a day later with no explanation. I called them, spoke to customer service and he had no idea why the order was canceled and told me that he would "look into it and call me back". No callback and no follow-up. Pretty sad. They obviously don't want my business and that is perfectly fine with me. In a time like this, businesses with this lack of customer service will go down with the ship. Have fun sinking! :)"
"I've bought a number of things from CC over the past few years. Generally happy, although it is important to note that their claim of free 2-day shipping is aspirational only and not a firm commitment. This is probably down to the delivery services they use, with On-Trac being the worst offender. USPS is a close second. Why CC persists in using these half-baked services is beyond me. As long as you realize that your delivery will likely be 2 or more days, you'll be ok. "
"Called sales to for assistance in having an order shipped out same day. I was fortunate to have spoken with Joe. I explained that I am heading out on a road trip and need the parts delivered no later than 2 days. He assured me it would ship same day and be delivered in days for free. After hearing my concern about it possibly being delivered late afternoon he spoiled the surprise and mentioned he had already upgraded the shipping to next day delivery! So stoked with this gentleman's service, attention to detail and professionalism. Thank you Competitive Cyclist! "I purchased two pair of cycling shorts. My first AND LAST order with them. Across the top of the page (and in a prior email) was splashed this text: 20% off your first order.
I ordered two pair of cycling shorts listed at $80 each, or $160.00. I never received an email confirmation of the order.
I never received a receipt. My account was billed $153.00 (a $9.**** shipping fee was a ripoff but with the discount I figured I was still ahead of the game).
After about the third email I got this absurd breakdown:

Total charges do not match up with my credit card was charged.
So they are running a shell game. When I called to ask about this, I was told that because THEY shipped from two different warehouses the discount only applied to one order.
I saved $7.00. Next time buy from Performance. Lesson learned.

"I am new to biking so I was looking around trying to find some clothes and didn't want to spend a ton of money so I found this company. I'll be honest I thought this was a scam company that just sold knock off or fakes. But it is 100% legit. They guarantee 2 day shipping and my order came right on time. I tried everything on and it was authentic quality materials and fit real well. The only issue was the bib shorts that I ordered came in a different color which honestly doesn't bother me. But just something to be aware of. I read lots of reviews from many sites and I found that they aren't the best with completely getting the order right all the time. Many people complained of wrong sizes and colors being sent. Thankfully all mine were the right size just the bib shorts were the wrong color which again doesn't bother me. I saved $365 which is an incredible amount of money and I'll definitely order from here again. "
"I ordered a pair of XL G-Form Pro-X2 Elbow Pad & XL G-Form Pro-X2 Knee Pad. Unfortunately, the knee pads were too small in XL and I needed an XXL.
After contacting them and explaining to them my situation, they sent me a free return shipping label and let me repurchase the XXL for the same discounted price shipped.
I just had to call in to give them my CC info because orders to avoid any mixup with PayPal payments done over chats and emails.

"I purchased an expensive mountain bike last fall. Sales end was excellent. I began having issues with the brakes about 6 weeks ago. The warranty department was initially responsive. There was a mix up on their end for the replacement parts. I had to contact them several times before they realized the mistake. No urgency to resolve the problem. I eventually contacted SRAM. Their response was excellent. In the end my bike was without functioning brakes for 5 weeks. No reason to use competitive cyclist again or to recommend them."
"Ordered a pair of gloves which showed up quickly but were the wrong size. No receipt or return information included. Emailed them and they responded that they did not have the product in my size so someone decided to ship a small pair. That email then encouraged me to buy another product they claim is in stock. Still waiting for info how to return for refund. Wont bother with this group again."
