"I ordered two sticks of Samsung 1066 256Meg Rambus 32s. After I placed the order I received an email confirming my order. I never received a Fedex tracking number. I called on Thurssay 02/27/03 and was told that my order would ship that night and that I would receive a Fedex tracking number. That was a lie. I then called Friday 02/28/03 and was told that my order had been "lost" and that they would process it then. Thank God that it wouldn't go through (my credit card declined it). As I found the same Ram for eighty (yes $80.00) less on Pricewatch. This company lies to it's customers and does not deserve your business. Stay Away!!! Run Forest Run!!!!"

" I had purchased Samsung 512MB RDRAM 1066Mhz 184 ECC from Components Direct back in November of last year, and then recently on the 17th. When I received my memory it was then that I noticed that not only was it the inferior and slower 800 memory, the original order I had placed months ago was also incorrect as well. (I had to bug them for about it still being stuck in their warehouse according to UPS tracking, until they admitted they had not shipped it yet, and then shipped it a week after the order had been placed). My computer bios, Windows XP, and hardware diagnostic software also confirmed this. The first batch of memory had even been purposely mislabeled. One of the modules was even defective.
I called back and explained the situation to them, already being irate at their incompetence in botching two completely seperate orders. They told me they would send UPS at their expense to pick up my wrong memory and to then call them back as soon as it was done, as they would sent me the correct memory overnight. I had to take half a day off from my job just to make sure someone was home to give the package to UPS.
Six days later and I call asking where my order is. They then admit that it hasn't been sent yet, and that he weill send it and give me a tracking number later. I call back to get it and he says his "shipping guy" hasn't come in yet. (A company this big supposedly has one shipping guy who hasn't come in yet by 3:00pm). I call back an hour later and am told by the person who answers their phones that their computers are down. She at first tells me she can't transfer to RMA because of this, but then does when I tell her that the phones have nothing to do with this .

By the time I reached the RMA representative (same one I spoke to before) and ask him for the UPS tracking number, it's at this point he mentions they can't send it until they receive my package. I reminded him that I had a printed copy of his e-mail stating it was going to be sent the same day. He tells me he "made a mistake" and that his boss told him to wait until they receive my original package.
All the memory I ordered cost me about $1200, and now I don't even have the wrong memory they sent me in the first place. After reading this site I have almost no hope of getting this resolved properly, as the company are masters at giving you the runaround. These idiots even tried to tell me to my face that the incorrect memory, with model numbers pressed into the metal itself, where the right ones even though the model numbers indicate they are a totally different item entirely, and my computer and diagnostic software even confirm this. This company apparently thinks that its customers have no clue what they are even ordering, and so are ripe for the picking. I fully expect them to either try to dump crappy memory onto me again or try to claim there was nothing in the box UPS sent from me, this company is that crooked.

Save yourself the trouble of losing $1200 and the use of you computer because some crooks would rather go through a lot of trouble to screw you then to just drop what you ordered in the mail. As for the idiot who claimed he worked for the company, you got some nerve to screw your clients, and to then get on this website and pretend you don't now about any of this. ***holes like you and your crooked company should rot in hell for bilking innocent people out of their money.

"I made the order before I read all of the negative ratings for this company. The ratings made me extremely nervous.

My card was not billed until two days after I made the order. When I called to ask if there was a problem the customer service rep. (was polite) and stated that my order was going out that day.

The order went out that day and I received everything I ordered.

Conclusion: The company did deliver the parts I ordered with no hassles or problems.

"Ordered Windows XP Home License code. Arrived looking as if it was removed from a computer, packaged and sold to me. I was given a RMA quickly, but I am still waiting to hear from them as to if they recieved the returned merchandise, and when the replacement will arrive.

They also took a long time to ship me my merchandise.

"Ordered a Sony DRU-500a DVD burner from them on 11/27/2002. It's 12/19 and it still hasn't shipped. They've been giving me the run-around since I got curious and called on the 16th. First they said that they were getting it on the 17th and would ship it then. They didn't. Said the same thing that day, that it would go out on the 18th. When I called on the 18th, they claimed to be unloading the boxes while I was talking to them, and that it would go out that day. It didn't. Then I found out that not only had they been advertising it as IN STOCK the entire time, they were also selling the OEM white-box version (usually a GOOD BIT cheaper) as the retail version, even going so far as saying 'retail kit'. That's fraud, plain and simple. They are refusing to pay for expedited shipping to get it here by Christmas, even though it was ordered almost a month ago, and are refusing to drop the price by the typical OEM white-box discount.
Stay away from these scammers.

"1) Placed an order on Friday Nov-1-2002. I ordered a motherboard, CPU, and
memory.

2) Tuesday, Nov-5-2002, checked my online order status. Showed as pending.
I was expecting the order to ship Monday seeing how it was placed on Friday
the week before. I called their customer service. They told me over the
phone that my order didn't ship Monday because they were waiting on memory.
But that it had come in today, and they would be shipping my order first
thing Wednesday morning. They were also going to upgrade my order to 2nd
day air.

3) Wednesday, Nov-6-2002, checked my online order status. Still showed as
pending. Called customer service again. What is going on? My order is
still showing pending. They tell me the website is slow to update,
everything has been shipped. I should see it by Friday. (I made 1 mistake
here. I didn't ask them to find me the tracking number like I should
have.)

4) Thursday, Nov-7-2002, checked my online order status. Still showed as
pending. Called customer service again. What is going on? My order is
still showing pending. Rep told me that they didn't know why my order
hadn't shipped today. Everything was ready to go. I was starting to get
real upset by now with their bullcrap. Right hand doesn't know what the
left hand is doing.

5) Friday, Nov-8-2002, checked my online order status. Still showed as
pending. Called customer service yet again. What the heck is going on!?
My order is still showing pending! This time, rep tells me they were
waiting on my CPU, but it just got in today. I said what the heck!? I've
called everyday since Tuesday, and each phone rep has told me a different
story. Then I said forget it, cancel my order. They said are you sure? I
said absolutely I'm sure. They said ok, you should see a credit to your
credit card within a few days.

6) I finally got my credit back on Nov-20-2002. Lucky for me. I expected
to have to contact my credit card company and dispute their charges. I will
never place an order with this company again. Ever.

"I ordered a Plextor 12/10/32S Internal CD Burner. I got a different model. The owner's manual was the right one and the box was correct. Before I ordered it, I called and asked if the one advertised on Pricewatch.com had BURN-Proof technology. The person stated it did. I ordered it on my debit card. Big mistake. After many calls they never called back. I sent them an e-mail asking them to correct the situation. No reply. These people should be put out of business immediately. I have a product I am very unhappy with. Making coasters every once in awhile. Stay away from them."

"Don't buy from these guys unless you want your credit card overcharged $1,263.00 (thats not a typo). I bought a P4 processor from these guys and it arrived a week late. I had to call and find out that they were back ordered. Then, I get overcharged $1,263.00. I'm still disputing this charge 3 months later with my credit card company. I've called time and time to get this matter resovled only to get the "The person who handles these matters is unavailable. Would you like to leave a message so he can call you back?" Which I do and still no one calls back. Save yourselves a headache and do not buy from these ripoffs."

"Horrible expierence. Sold "512MB 1066" Ram on their website which turned out to be 800 ram. Total fraud. The 1066 ram doesnt even EXIST. Called them up for several days gave me the runaround and never called me back, after promising 4 times. Suspended payment on CC, waiting for refund.

"On September 9th, I placed an order for two sticks of Kingston 256MB 1066Mhz RDRAM, and an OEM version of Microsoft Windows XP Pro, due too their cheap prices. The website wouldn't show if these items were in stock or not, so I called them up, and they said the Kingston memory would be in stock the next day. I finalized the order, and received an e-mail confirming the order as well as an online invoice. I then called them 3 days later and asked them about the status of my order. They said it would be shipped out that day, and arrive the next day. However, they were unable to give me a tracking number. Well it didn't arrive the next day, so I called them up again, and they gave me a tracking number. It finally arrived on September 16th. But to my suprise, I had only received the Microsoft Windows XP Pro, and NOT the Kingston memory. I called them up again and they said it would be coming in another shipment within 2-3 days. They weren't able to give me a tracking number at that time. The 3rd day came and no package. I called them up yet again, and they were able to give me a tracking number. The package finally arrived on September 20th.
Overall their prices are pretty cheap, however I wish their website stated if their items were in stock or not. I also wish that they would keep their customers up to date, especially when it comes to splitting up orders because they didn't have the items in stock.

"MstrCompTech: I'm sick of dealing with wanna be pros like yourself that have no clue what's going on. The double sticker does NOT come from the manufacturer. The sticker has the Components Direct logo right on it. I have contacted Samsung and discussed this with them. Components Direct is selling PC800 remarked as PC1066. Components Direct web site does not reveal the last digit of the Samsung part number which differentiates PC800 and PC1066. PC800 ends with CM8 and PC1066 ends with CM9. Their site simply lists it as CM. I ordered what I thought was (2) 512mb PC1066 sticks. I contacted Samsung and they haven't even manufactured these yet. Anyway, I returned the memory and I've been in a battle to get a refund for 30 days now."

"This comment is to JIG i have ordered from them many many many times with no problems...the double sticker you refer to comes that way from the manufacture so go ahead and try to press charges against components direct they didnt do it maybe you should contact samsung i have bought several from other locations local to me with the same thing so maybe before you black ball a reseller you should learn more about your product...so sick and tired of stupid end users....deal with people like you where i work day in and day out"
