"Way to go guys. Salesperson answered all questions with no problem and was not pushy. I have had friends that purchased things online before and didn't quite get what they thought they would. "On the 6th of June they received my check overnighted via FedEx. The item was in stock and it would ship immediately. When we called on the 7th to get a tracking number, they said it had shipped and we would receive a tracking number via e-mail. We did not receive a tracking number, we called back on the 9th and were told the item had shipped and we would receive a tracking number via e-mail, it never came. Same thing again on the 10th. Finally on the 13th we spoke to their 'customer service department' and NOW we were told it never shipped it is back-ordered. I e-maield them to tell them is is unacceptable, they lied for a week and now they are telling us it is back-ordered. I received an e-mail reply that the item shipped on the 13th, the same day we were told it was backordered, by the SAME guy, Obi. On the 14th we asked for a trackign number, did not receive one, on the 15th we askedfor a trackign number did not receive one. On the 16th after sitting on hold for 34 minutes I was told it never shipped, but 'the FL warehouse PROMISED it would be overnighted for delivery on Friday. Friday we called for a tracking number, we were on hold for 78 minutes, they kept saying the FedEx tracking number is on it's way, pelase hold, then after 78 minutes the Manager Fred got on and said they don't have the printer, it never shipped, and he doesn't know when it will ship. Basically everything that was said up until that point by this company was a lie."

"Everything was explained in a cordial manner. I purchased exactly the Printer and accessories I wanted. The equipment came by FedEx ground from CA to WA. "Their prices are some of the most competitive I have seen for this model Notebook and the model I ordered comes with a bunch of accessories!!! They may not be the cheapest site on everything, but they are quiet close. As regards to efficiency, I ordered the Notebook on a Monday morning and it was shipped FedEx and arrived Thursday afternoon."

"I ordered a Benq 20" LCD monitor. Ordering was fast and easy. It was shipped when they said it would be, arrived when they said it would, and when i got the package, it was better than i could have guessed. "I ordered my Toner cartriges Sunday afternoon and called Monday to verify, the phone rang twice before a courteous sales person answered, in less than a minute he was able to tell me that the items had been shipped. Thursday I arrived home to find a brown box within which my Toner cartriges were safely and carefully packaged. They were immediated inserted into my printer and worked as expected. I would definitely buy from Compu America again. Thanks guys."

"I ordered a 3com switch to replace one that had failed on Wednesday Oct. 20th, 2004, I placed the order for a replacement that same day, I requested FedEx next day air which I was charged $43 for, Thursday came ...no switch, Friday came ...no switch, I logged into my account on their website, it wasn't even shipped yet, I called and they didn't have an explaination but said to call back later which I did, when I asked the woman who answered the phone I wanted to speak with customer service she said "NO! their busy ...call back later", I emailed them and requested that they cancel my order and refund me, as it turns out I received the switch Monday afternoon Oct. 25th, 2004. I emailed customer service and requested that I be refunded something since I payed for next day delivery and received my purchase five days later!
My suggestion is to avoid doing any business with this company, they don't care about customers and they'll gladly screw you over if you give them an opportunity.

"I must have lost my mind for a moment when I first looked at this site to order. On any given day, I would always check R/R prior to making a purchase with a few exceptions, NewEgg, ZipZoom, etc. However, for some unknown reason I did not check back here before placing an order with Compu-america. This is my own fault and anyone reviewing this now should learn from my forgetfulness.
The story: First called site to ensure parts were in stock, was told they were. Placed the order online 18 Oct. Never received a confirmation email at any time. Site shipping policy states when placing orders on items in stock and credit approved, 24 to 48 hours to ship. Requested FedEx 2-day. Item showed “being packed” for three days starting 22 Oct. Sent an email inquiry for status with return and read receipt, both came back as received and read but no replies from their CS. Checked my CC account and showed the charges were placed, still no emails from their CS. Checked status 25 Oct, “Ready for shipping”, this was the status for 4 days. Called 29 Oct. and CS states it will be shipped overnight for Saturday delivery.
This is the email I received at 7:30 PM 29 Oct.:
“Your internet order is currently on hold.

The item that you ordered is not available for shipping. It’s still in back order for 2 weeks.
If your willing to wait please email me back or call us at ***-***-**** between the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm pacific standard time (Monday - Friday) and ask for ask for Janet at extension 102 of the internet sales as soon as possible to resolve any discrepancies and to expedite your order.

Please have your order number ready when you call. Your order number can be found in the subject field of this e-mail.

Sincerely,
COMPU-AMERICA”

I immediately replied with a cancellation and credit to my account, Lord knows how long that will take. I will also follow up with a call on Monday.

I ask all of you for forgiveness for this lapse of memory and promise it will not happen again.

"I called Compu-America on January 12th to make sure the item was IN-STOCK and not refurbished. They told me they had it in stock and it was a brand new product. I hung up and got authorization from my company to purchase the item. I ordered the product online and waited. I got my "thank you for your order" confirmation at 5PM that night before I left from work. I was all "woo-hoo" and happy. My first barrier was getting into work the next day and getting an "address verification" rejection email. This wasn't good. I deal with more than a dozen online vendors and this was the first time this has happened to me. I called Janet in internet sales at Compu-America and verified the billing address (which was a PO Box). Janet then told me that it verified, but their policy states that they will not SHIP to addresses that has not also been verified on the Credit Card. I then said, "Let me guess, you don't ship to PO Boxes either". She affirmed. She gave me two options: 1. Call the Credit Card company and have the shipping address added to the account or 2. Fax them a copy of the credit card. I won't go into the complexities of both options...but neither were really convenient for me (nor for my manager of whom I had to call to get it done, who also wasn't very thrilled with being bothered with this). Needless to say, by the end of the day I got the shipping address verified and they charged my card for the amount of the product. YAY! All done...so, I thought.

Two days passed and I notice the status on my order still said "IN PROGRESS". This annoyed me and I'll tell you why in a second. Despite the mention of the horrendously long ON-HOLD times, having to listen to that ON-HOLD message stating how greatly knowledgeable their sales people are and how EASY it is to track orders using their online Tracking Service...Grrrr. At any rate, I spoke to Janet again and asked her about the status. She says to me that she doesn't know why but my order hasn't been shipped and she puts me on hold to find out why. After being on hold for too long, she comes back and tells me that my product hasn't been shipped out yet and it should be shipped on Monday. I was about ready to cancel my order right then and there. But, I didn't. I said, "Okay, thank you". That is when I checked on PriceGrabber.com and ResellerRatings.com and bothered with reading the reviews. :: sigh :: Why didn't I do this before I made my order? I know why, because Compu-America had such a dirt low price for my product.

Monday arrives (MLK-Day). And now it is Tuesday. I go online to check the status, it still says "IN-PROGRESS". ROAR!!! I call Compu-America. On Hold...............

I didn't want to talk to Janet. I wanted to talk to someone else. So, I purposefully asked to check my tracking (versus before when I asked for Internet Sales). I got someone differently. He checked my order and put me on hold........... He comes back and tells me that they don't have my product in stock. But, they were getting more in today and he would "call me back to give me more information". I told him that Janet said that my product would be shipped on Monday (yesterday). He put me on hold to "talk to Janet". He comes back and says, "I spoke to Janet and...". He repeated what he said before.

I simply said, "Please cancel my order".

Customer Service is very polite.
They are very *POLICY* Driven. Every case is handled the same with no special care to anyone.
Their prices ROCK, but their business ethic as a whole made my shopping experience with them EXTREMELY un-pleasant. I'd rather pay $30 more for more prompt service than do business with this company again.

BTW, 2 days have passed since I cancelled my order, and I still have yet to see a credit made to my credit card account. They said they would credit it on the night of my cancelled order.

"I ORDERED FOR AN PRINTER hp 2110. I WAS CHARGED IN MY CREDIT CARD BUT WAITED FOR NEARLY 3 WEEKS WITHOUT THE ITEM BEING DELIVERED. THEY SAID ITS NOT IN STOCK BUT IT WAS WHEN I ORDERED ON LINE. THEY WOULD NEVER BOTHER TO INFORM THEIR CLIENT IF ANY FEEDBACK FROM THEIR END NOT UBTIL YOU TELL THEM WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW. I REQUESTED FOR THE REFUND OF THE AMOUNT AND I WAS ADVISED TO WAIT FOR 2-3 DAYS MORE FOR ANY REASONS ONLY THEY KNOW."
