"After reading the reviews here, I was very leery about ordering from them, but the price was too good to pass up. I ordered Quicken 2003 Premier (based on a search at pricewatch.com) late on a Tuesday and paid by PayPal. I opted for PayPal's money back guarantee for $2.29 - just in case, and FedEx 3-day for $9. The order went through without a problem. The next day (Wednesday) I received notification that my order had shipped, including a tracking number. The package arrived on Friday and was exactly what I ordered. All together, I paid less than $40 for software that retails for $70. I am very happy and will use them again."

"Found vendor on Pricewatch. The Price advertised was less than on compu-terra's site, as well as the shipping. I had to go thru paypal to pay them, and because I selected the $.99 shipping, I had to fax them a document waiving their responsibilities because it was send uninsured. I bought a Memory Stick, so I wasn't concerned about any damage, and the part I recieved was in working order. I would not select their cheapest, ie. $.99 shipping for anything with moving parts. I was a little dubious of buying from this company because of their rating here, and their dificult to navigate website. I recieved my product on the 17th. 5 days after order. I would be cautious ordering online from them, order over the phone so you can talk to a real person. "

"The number I entered was for my order. There is no invoice number, as most likely, I will not be completing my purchase.

I ordered from Mark via their 800 number on 3-4. He quoted me 3 days to build and then shipping that would be no later than Tuesday.

Friday the 7th at 5:48 PM this arrived via email:

"Your order is currently awaiting a credit card charge authorization. Due to
the increase volume of credit card fraud, our policy has recently changed to
comply with the credit card fraud prevention policy. Please print out the
attached charge approval form, fill it out, and fax it back to us at (440)
460-1066 along with a copy of your credit card (both sides) and driver
license to get your order processed. Once we receive it back, we will charge
your credit card. Please note that for the same reason we will be able to
ship your order only to your billing address.

There is no way I will email a company with their reputation that much personal information. I thought that people out there trying to purchase from them should be aware of what they will have to go through to complete a purchase.

Had I known this when I ordered, I would have found someone else instead of wasting several business days. Unless they process my order as is, and have it to my home Tuesday at the price they quoted, you can count me among their many dissatisfied customers.

"This company has a lot of bad reviews, but so far I've only had three problems with their service.
However, I probably wont do business with them again for these reasons. :(

NUMBER 1: SHIPPING
Three business days from "order" to "ship" and then charge you for three day shipping? Ouch! Thats 6 days before you get your product and it costs more. If I'd known that to begin with I wouldnt have ordered from them.

NUMBER 2: ORDER STATUS
The order status on their horribly crafted site doesnt work. My items shipped and they still show "processing". Great.

NUMBER 3: PHONE SUPPORT
These guys absolutely will not answer a phone. I called from 11am central to 6pm and got nothing but voicemail. :(

Like I said, they've got problems. Overall I'd have to say I'm very dissatisfied with the service. I did get my product, but it's 3 days late and for those 3 days I felt like I was being ripped off because they wouldnt answer the phone.
This is very bad when you have deadlines.
Of course it's up to you to buy from them, but if you want your items in a timely fashion I'd suggest against it.

"I started to place and order with this company after finding them though pricewatch. After getting to the payment section of the order and finding out that they do not take credit card, I didn't complete the order and went somewhere else.

Since that time I have recieved many unsolicited commercial e-mails and repeated automated requests to complete the order, even after I sent email (to the address specified by them, for customers wishing to cancel their orders) requesting that my order be removed and that I be removed from any further automated spam.

Despite the fact that I did eventually get a hold of someone via email (though not at the address given by them), and they said the order would be cancelled, I am still getting commercial spam from them. I already took the time to read up on the anti-spam laws in my state, as I told them I would, and what they are doing is not considered illegal in my state, but I think it's horrible business practice, and thus my comments here.

Though I was very leary of them due to some negitive comments here I went ahead and bought a ECS K7S5A motherboard, 1.33 ghz 266 FSB athlon/t-bird CPU, and case with 300w PS and front USB. They put it together and tested it. All for $149 shipped via FedEx 3 day.

It only took them a few days to put it together and ship it and once it was shipped they sent me the tracking #. It arrived well packaged and works great. The MB had the newest BIOS, the case was better then expected, and they sent me the retail MB box too. Overall this was a good purchase.

Those who read the negitives should remeber that if someone has a bad experiance they will tell 20 people about it, if they have a good they will tell 1. So take it with a grain of salt. (They also do business as compu-tera)

"Comp-Terra sent me a defective hard drive. I contacted them for a RMA sent the hd back, they then sent me a email saying the hd was good and were charging me $25.00. Before I sent the hd back I had it tested by a professional and I personally used PowerMax. I will never use this company again, and encourage anyone else not to do so. I heard many negatives about this company and they proved to be true. This is incredable, they want me to send them an additional $25.00 for a defective hard drive. Pure and simple these people are crooks. If need be I will spend thousands of dollars in legal fees just to prove a point. I will not be ripped off by a pack of thieves. "

"I ordered a motherboard/processor combo from Compu-Terra. Paid for it with a Visa Debit card. I was told that I would receive an email tracking number the following day. I never did. I waited yet another day and still no number. I called them to see why. They told me that they were no longer accepting cards and that my order had been cancelled and my card had been credited. I was told I would have to order with paypal if I wanted the board which I promptly did. The board was shipped. I waited and still no refund on the original purchase from the card. I called them a week and a half later and they said they sent the refund and they are finished with it. I checked my bank and they said there was NO credit issued from compu-terra and none pending and the only recourse I had was to seek action against compu-terra.

If you dont want RIPPED OFF Don't order from them. I would also like to put the word fraud in here so that when anyone types fraud and compu-terra into the same search engine, they will find they aren't the only one that compu-terra RIPPED OFF

"The letter I sent them...

"Just thought you should know that on Dec 24th, the motherboard I ordered
arrived. Not only was I pleased with the tech book that came with it, but
installation was a snap, and best of all...it worked. Considering the
problems I have had with motherboards, that is no mean feat.

After almost 2 moths of dealing with out of stock vendors, bad boards, and
tech support that either had no idea what they were doing or disliked their
jobs immensely, I am very happy to have finally found your company. Not
only did the salesman, I wish I knew his name, know what I was talking about
(which is a great deal more than I have come to expect) but when shipping
difficultys arose (I have a PO box, and wanted it shipped to my apartment)
Natasha was kind enough to call and helped me through the inconvenience.
Shipping was fast, the packing was great...

It was a very good experience."

"Everything was great, shiped on time, no damage etc. The only issue I had was with the motherboard I ordered. It boots with a Gateway logo to cover the BIOS. It's not a real big deal, it's just that the site never stated this fact. As far as I can tell it's not refurbished, and it works great."
