"I purchased a barebones system from these scam artist, after finding them on pricewatch. They charged me to assemble and "TEST" the system (which I thought was a rip-off, but figured I wouldn't have to spend time troubleshooting) and when I received it, only the motherboard was plugged into the power supply. Obviously not tested, the OS wouldn't load. I switched out CD-ROM and tried different CDs with no luck. Finally, they agreed to refund my money, so I mailed it back to them. After 6 calls and 2 letters I have still not received ANY of my purchase cost back. "
"Where do I begin? Ok, here goes...
May 2nd, 2004: Placed online order #500377 for XP1800+ Pricewatch special. Received email confirmation for order #500377 within minutes.
May 4th, 2004: Received email message from Compubuzz requesting me to phone regarding order #500377, which was "on hold".
May 5th, 2004: Phoned Compubuzz, spoke to CSR named Samira or Sameera about order # 500377. CSR stated it was a routine anti-fraud verification request, asked a few questions, then stated my order was "confirmed" and would be processed in the couple days.
May 10th, 2004: Received yet another email message from Compubuzz requesting me to phone regarding order #500377, which was yet again "on hold".
May 11th, 2004: Attempted to call a few times but received busy signals or was put on hold. Received email stating that order #500377 had been cancelled because Compubuzz was unable to contact me.
May 12th, 2004: Attempted to call again, spoke with CSR Samira, asked what the problem was with order #500377. Samira claimed Compubuzz performs routine anti-fraud checks and cancelled the order because I did not contact them. I advised Samira that, in fact, I already called and spoke with her after the first request on May 4th. Samira apologized and re-instated my order, claiming for the second time that my order was "confirmed" and clear to proceed.
Feeling re-assured, I foolishly placed a second order for AMD XP2600+ Pricewatch special that evening (12th). Received order confirmation #500657 email within minutes.
May 22nd, 2004: Received second order (XP2600+) #500657, still no sign of order #500377. Processor had signs of previous use including chips or cracks along the edge of the core. Did not want to test processor until I notified Compubuzz of the damage.
On or about May 24th, 2004: Called Compubuzz, reached CSR Samira again, informed her about the damage. Samira stated this would be documented and to proceed with testing the processor; if it was defective, the processor would be replaced.
Also asked Samira about the status of order #500377. Samira yet again stated the order had been cancelled because Compubuzz could not reach me, as though we had never talked about this TWO FREAKING TIMES already. I was quite upset and let the CSR know how I felt about this blatant incompetence. I left the order cancelled.
On or about May 27th, 2004: Tested the processor and it is clearly defective; Windows Protection Errors, system halt, blue screens, etc.
On or about May 28th, 2004: Requested RMA for replacement, approved online, RMA# issued.
June 1st, 2004: Shipped item USPS Priority Mail to Compubuzz.
June 3rd, 2004: Compubuzz received RMA package via USPS Delivery Confirmation.
June 10th, 2004: Received replacement processor, again with a damaged core. This time, the damage is even worse than the previous one. I've uploaded a photo to the following URL:
http://s89934018.onlinehome.us/images/xp2600.jpg
Notice the crack or gouge along the left edge of the core. Further, the AMD Ordering Part Number is for a Model 10 Thorton core, but I ordered a Model 8 Thoroughbred core. Thorton core processors are not supported on my mainboard. I sent a support request to AMD asking if this OPN is even valid.
AVOID THIS COMPANY! Consider yourself warned."
"Ordered MB combo with a great price shown on pricewatch. Received the standard call trying to increase charges for a number of things. After declining additional charges, I recieved an email canceling my order as a credit card security risk. I was a returning customer with the same information, card working fine on many other current net orders. Strange. Looked on pricewatch to see their price jump considerably for this combo. Their email server seems to be rejecting replies. The confirmation process they request takes weeks. Easier and faster for me to deal with a straight shooter."
"Seems like a good price and checkout was easy. Good detail on the product provided (including warranty information)."
"They called the next day tried to upgrade, but I didn't,they didn't have product i ordered all kind of excuses so i cancelled, all I can say is buyer beware, they couldn't fill contract so they said my card was no good so i called credit card co. who had not heard from them!!!!"
"I ordered a CPU that they claimed was in stock. A week and a half later, it still had not arrived. I called them and finally got through after getting a busy signal the first several tries. They told me that the CPU was back ordered and tried to sell me another one. I told them to cancel the order. That was over a week ago and my credit card still has not been refunded the $61.71 that they took. I tried to call them again yesterday and got a busy signal.
UPDATE - After two more weeks with no refund of my money, I contacted the Better Business Bureau. They contacted Compubuzz, who then refunded my money. It was obvious that Compubuzz had no intention of refunding my money until the BBB stepped in.
You have been warned."
"Worst experience in 10+ years of placing orders online. Every promise broken No callback ever placed. Website crashes when you try to get a return merchandies agreement (RMA). "
"I recently made 2 purchases through them, one via phone and one via the Internet. The website is very easy to navigate and gives plenty of options. The phone order representative was very helpful in explaining all of my shipping options and approximately how long it would take to arrive."
"Great deals and a terrific site. Placing an order online was easy and intuitive. Also, it's great that you have another option for payment without using a credit card. My only problem is that they sent me a obviously damaged processor and now I have to go through the steps of a return."
"My background: Computer VAR, Systems Engineer, 25 years direct PC exp.
Ordered a high-end MB/AMD64/Memory combo on 04/13/04. They called immediately to upsell the cpu/fan combo, which I felt was worth the extra price, so agreed to the additional cost. Received quick email order confirmation and detail of items ordered.
Also paid PREMIUM for RUSH ORDER
Also paid PREMIUM for PRE-TEST (MB/CPU/MEM)
On 04/16/04, they charged my Credit Card.
I went online to check order status; it still said "processing".
On 04/19/04, went online to check again. Same thing. Went to main web site to check "My Account", got a strange message about "If you orderd before 04/19/04, click a link. It was a dead-end, took me right back to the "If you ordered..." message.
On 04/20/04, called 800 number. The lady that answered said "Your order was shipped on 04/19/04". I asked for the shipping info. First response was "Our computers are down, and I can't get through to UPS". I said to check with shipping dept, they would have a hard-copy. She said "Our shipping dept does not come in until noon, (CST)". Asked her to call me back. She promised to do so THAT DAY.
04/21/04. Checked website again. Now my "tracking link" does not work at all, the screen says "If the original account was created before 04/20/04, I would have to create a new one." I did, using previous info. When I put in my ORDER NO. to TRACK the shipment, it forwards me to UPS, and hands them my ORDER NO, not SHIPPINIG NO., so the UPS tracking page does not know how to handle that number.
Conclusions on this reseller so far:
1. Unprofessional customer service.
2. Unprofessional online account handling.
And, if I find out they DID NOT ship then add:
3. Unethical charging of credit card without
having shipped order.
4. Unscrupulous representation of facts about the
order having been shipped.
I get the impression this is a really small 2-3 person business (same person always answers the phone, makes follow-up calls, etc.)
Hopefully I will eventually get what I ordered, but so far am very unsatisfied with the whole experience.
Update 05/01/04:
I did eventually get all the items I ordered, with the exception on:
1. The did a partial shipment without informing me in advance, and in fact had told me the "Order" had been shipped. They did not bother with "Part of your order has been shipped".
2. They could not have tested the CPU/MB/Memory combination, as I paid for, due to partial shipment. The AMD CPU was still sealed in original factory container.
3. The money I paid for "expedited shipment" was a waste. They did ship the final shipment 2-day delivery.
In short, I will never do business with them again, as they have no ability or willingness to deliver what they say they are going to deliver, and on top of that refuse to admit to the customer that they cannot/will not deliver.
BUYER BEWARE!!

"I placed this order on April 9th and it has not even shipped yet (today is April 16th). I put specific instructions in the order to call me if there was a back order as my need for the motherboard I was ordering was time sensitive. I called on Wed, Thur, and Fri for a status, and was told each day that it was going to ship that day. I will not order anything from CompuBuzz again.
Update: Today is April 26th. I never got my order. After several phone calls, I was finally told that Compubuzz doesn't even stock the motherboard that I ordered (and that their website said was in stock). I put specific instructions to contact me if the item I ordered was not in stock; they didn't. They certainly didn't have any trouble billing my credit card. I still haven't gotten a refund. I would NOT buy anything from these clowns. I am seriously considering filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau."
"Web site navigation was relatively straightforward, the cart status was accurate both before and after I created my account on the system, and the add-on options were relatively easy to deal with. I particularly liked that there was at least a short warranty explicitly provided on the products in addition to the price add warranty available with the product. Unfortunately, things went south from there. They called to inform me that they couldn't accept my order (even though their system had done so) because it was a special price for single unit buyers and I had ordered two units. I had them change to qty to 1, but when that processor arrived it appeared to be used (covered with Heatsink grease) and was completely dead. Still waiting to hear back from their RMA/Tech dept."
"Ordered a system board and proc. combo from this company. Compubuzz called me and said that since I had ordered from them before, I was no longer eligible for the prices they listed on pricewatch, and that if I wanted to be eligible for those prices, I would have to buy one or more of their outrageously priced upgrade options. FALSE ADVERTISING"
"Prices can't be beat. Ordering process was straight forward."
"Placed an order for 2nd day air. They waited 3 days before they shipped it. I wrote an email reguarding this 58.00 shipping issue. No response at all. I guess after they ship customer service stops there."
