"Retracting my previous statement. Compubuzz shipped my CPU out and it got here very quickly. I let these negative feedbacks here affect my judgement of the situation. I apologize and want to say thank you compubuzz for a great cpu at a great price!"
"Do not buy from Compubuzz.
I purchased an AMD mobo combo and the proc(Athlon XP 2200+) was fried.
If you want to get screwed and have your money wasted buy from them, otherwise forget it."
"This is an update to my previous rating of dont know...
I cannot remmond this reseller. Although I did not have much trouble getting in touch with them or any prob's receiving the computer when they said it would be recieved.
I ordered and XP1800+ and got a 1900+ no charge wich I thought was nice, but when I turned the computer on it would not install windowsxp, it just froze before it even made it past the first blue screen. I checked the temperature and it was 62c wich is way to high just for the computer while not even playing a game. When I examine the CPU I find out that they put paste on over the paste that comes with the retail heat sinks! No wonder it was running so hot. (plus the fan was smaller than my finger)
I could write a long list of what happened but the bottom line is the computer didnt work out of the box due to the fact that they dont fully test them before they ship them (maybe they turn it on) and I ended up using it for scrap parts. The MB went bad after the 3rd time turning it on, and they did issue me an RMA# but I didnt return it b/c I decided that it wouldnt be wise to start selling biostar mb's."
"Purchased Motherboard combo this month. Transaction was smooth and everything arrived on time. Overall very Happy!!!!!"
"I've become the invisible customer. I look at my hands, and they seem solid enough, but Compubuzz.com seems to have trouble seeing me at all.
Back on August 3 2003, I ordered a hard drive from this company. On August 8, my card was charged. I had received no shipment notification but I was patient, so I waited.
And waited. It is now August 21, and not only have I not received any communication from Compubuzz.com about my order, but (surprise, surprise!) I haven't received the hard drive I ordered, either. No explanation, and no response at all to several eMails I sent inquiring about the status of my order.
Today, I had finally had enough of being treated as if I don't exist. I exist! I am not invisible! And I cancelled my order with them to prove it.
Now all that remains is to see if they will give me my money back. Bad customer service (or nonexistant customer service in my case) is one thing, but it remains to be seen if they are thieves in addition.
Care to place a bet on wether I'll ever see my money again? No, I wouldn't take that bet, either. But hope springs eternal. ;) This review will be updated to reflect any further dealings with trying to resolve this issue.
Don't shop with Compubuzz.com. Not unless you want to become The Invisible Customer.
UPDATE: The matter is resolved, but not because Compubuzz made it right. I reversed the charge, and as I understand it companies get charged $20 by VISA for every chargeback. What a heart-warming thought. Compubuzz is now the one on the short end of the stick. (Thank you 'my bank' for handling that for me!) :)
The moral of the story: if you want to be ripped off by thieves, try to buy from Compubuzz. I hear they're waiting in their spider-hole for your credit card number..."
"Although my order wass held up initialy 2 days by the sales team attempting to sell me an additional piece of equipment that I already had,( aCPU fan for the CPU I ordered) just making sure I guess, the ordering went well after that. I have not yet recieved the pieces yet, but the follow up from a Customer Service Rep named "Taz" has been exeptional. "
"Called Compubuzz this morning in order to get a tracking number for a purchase that was told to me me TWICE was shipped Friday, 6/27.
Come to find out, it wasn't shipped on 6/27...It was on backorder. Was I notified of this? Nope. Was I told this on the phone when I called about 5 times last week (And talked to someone each time)? Nope.
Was I lied to twice? Yep. Did a woman take my name and number and tell me she would call me back in fifteen minutes? Yep. Did she? Nope. Has my package status been updated on their website since 6/26 (One day after I ordered the product)? Nope.
Good news is: The guy I spoke with today assured me that it was in stock right now and that it would ship today. Will it? I doubt it. He also said that they will upgrade my shipping to 2 day or something. Will it matter? Nope. Why? Because I have a feeling they won't ship it for another 2-3 days anyways...
This isn't necessarily a bad review for compubuzz....yet. But if I don't have my purchase by Wednesday (AT THE LATEST)..then I will be doing quite a bit of complaining. That's 2 weeks after I ordered it, and almost a week after I theoretically SHOULD have received it.
To their defense, they did make a big move the week before last..and i'm sure some of that carried over to last week as well. But there's no excuse for not informing me of the status on my purchase...especially when they already took $400 off my credit card.
Hell, I even received a tracking number from Colorcases today..something I didn't think would happen.
Compubuzz, i'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will receive my motherboard and processor tomorrow (As I said to upgrade my shipping to overnight)...or wednesday at the latest. Please please please get it to me!"
"Do not ever order anything from this company! I tried to order a motherboard processor combo and recieved two receipts with different reference numbers. I sent an e-mail to question this and was told they changed the shipping method. My credit card was charged twice. When I finally got through to customer service I was told the order never went through and that my card would be credited. 17 days later and I still don't have my money back. I have yet to be able to contact the company again through email or by phone. Stay away from this vendor! Stay far away!"
"I orderd a Seagate 120GB HDD on the 14th (saturday) and contacted the sales dept. on Monday the 16th to confirm that my shipping address was acceptable. I was assured that it was and that the HDD would ship that day.
I selected FedEx 2 day because my other HDD is failing and needs to be replaced (which I noted in my order).
On Thursday the 19th I called to get a tracking number and got the recording that the store was closed though it was during their specified business hours. Friday there was no answer at all by phone or email. It's 10 days later with no word. I've already contacted my credit card company and am preparing to dispute the charge.
I've never had a problem with an on-line reseller before. I wish I had known about this site previously. I'll be checking it whenever I make an order in future.
6/26/03 I did manage to get a phone recording stating that they were changing their location and will be reopened 6/30. Still no reply to my emails, still haven't received the drive. Resellerratings needs stronger terms for sellers such as compubuzz."
"I ordered an ABIT AT7-Max2 mobo w/ AMD Athlon XP 2600+ processor on 6/13/03. They called me later that day to ask me if I wanted additional warranty coverage. I was happy with the prompt service. Now I am unhappy that my order is still processing and they will not respond to my e-mails. But while the order is still processing, my account has already been charged $260 for the product of which I have no idea when it will get to me.
6/30/03 - I got a hold of them this morning a few times. I called them once at 11:00 AM EST. They said their servers were down from their move so they couldn't access any processing orders. They told me to call them back in an hour and a half and they'll be back up. Called 2 hours later at 1:30 PM EST and they still weren't up. They said they couldn't find my record in their hard copies. This means it was shipped on Friday or it has been sent to the shipping dept. since then [or it was lost]. If they would have notified me that orders were backing up because of their location move, I probably wouldn't have ordered from them. BTW... it's now 4:43 PM EST and their website is still not up."
"Four days ago I ordered an ATI Radeon 9500 Pro from Compubuzz.com. Since then I've visited compubuzz.com many times to ascertain the status of my order. The site says that my order is still processing and has not updated the status of my order for about 3 days now. This in itself is odd.
I then attempted to call the compubuzz.com to figure out what was going on. I placed the calls well within the office hours that were stated on the site and, lo and behold, I got an answering machine saying that the offices were closed. I tried calling over a span of two days. If the answering machine didn't pick up, the phone would just keep on ringing with no one answering. What is going on here?
I've sent an email to them and attempting to cancel my order, but fear that I will have to do it through my credit card company. Is compubuzz.com dead? If not, why can I still place orders?
Stay away from this company."
"if u are on a deadline, DO NOT buy from the store!! Your product will sit ready to ship for 30 hours....This was the case for me. I received the tracking number 11:41am Tuesday morning, it did not ship until 5:11pm wednesday afternoon....I mean wtf??? Then they wanted to charge me a 15% restocking fee....anyone wanna buy a XP2500???"
"I purchased the following items from CompuBuzz.com
- ECS K7S5a Motherboard
- AMD Approved Case
- AMD Athlon XP 2000 processor
- Athlon CPU Fan
I purchased this as a bare bones bundle advertised on pricewatch.com. The only problem I had with this system is the motherboard was poorly assembled in the case. They used plastic snap on gromits without any screws. Therefore the motherboard was not tightly secured to the case. During shipment, this allowed the motherboard to move which sheared all but one of the plastic gromits. So when I took the case out of the box, the motherboard had fallen down.
To fix the problem, I had to to remove the motherboard, remove the half pieces of plastic gromits from the motherboard and case. Then install the metal screw-in gromits into the case, reinstall the motherboard and secure with screws. Of course you have to remove the power supply to do this. I wanted to avoid doing all this, that's why I ordered a bare bones system advertised as "assembled and tested".
Fortunately I was able to get it all put back together and it is running well. My feedback to Compubuzz is to take an extra 5 minutes and install a couple metal screws to properly secure the motherboard as they should.

"Placed order for CPU on March 15th, received order on April 14th. Enough said. This company sucks.
Check out CompuBust's comments below. That's their response to me receiving my order A WHOLE MONTH LATER. Would you order from a company like this?
Since my CompuBust CPU is just sitting around collecting dust (ordered same item from other company, cheaper, arrived BEFORE CompuBust's), I'll conduct an experiment: I'll have my Dad send that CPU from his home in Florida to my aunt in Seattle, WA. I'll get back to everyone on that.
In the meantime, I would like to clarify CompuBust's definition of "cheapskate." A cheapskate is NOT someone who researches all options for the best price for an item.
An example of a cheapskate is someone that would advertise a CPU shipped in 10-14 days at a price that isn't profitable enough- so they "scare" as many people as possible into paying ridiculous UPS/FedEx shipping to make margins more profitable. The people that don't get scared? Their orders ship out much later when CPU prices have fallen to a much more profitable level."
"I ordered a PCChips motherboard and Athlon XP 1700+ combo board from CompuBuzz on Sunday 03/02/2003.
I received an email receipt from them moments later detailing my order. 03/03/2003 I received another email telling me my order was being processed. 03/04/2003 I received an email telling me my order was complete and on its way.
I picked FedEx 2 day and it was in my hands on 03/06/2003. Very painless order."
