"I found the company on ebay, and was thinking about buying a computer off of there, so I decided to call and ask a few questions. I was talking to Elena who custom built a computer for me over the phone. I paid for it via bank wire transfer, which went smoothly. One thing I did not like was the fact that when the computer got shipped to me Fedex made me pay $216.96 on import duties which I was unaware would happen (apparently some Canadian provinces have to pay this, some do not). Other than that when I received the computer(about 1 week after ordering) there was a few problems with the overclocked settings, which was all handled very well by tech support, it was fixed within 30 minutes to an hour.
-Customer service is excellent.
-Tech support is very knowledgeable.
-Computer runs very well.
All in all, I would recommend buying a computer from them if you were looking at building your own custom computer. It saves a lot of hassle and in some cases you wouldn't save very much money by building it yourself."
"Great Experience - Computers delivered as promised. Good Price and machines have been working fine."
"Fast, friendly service, excellent product."
"great price, fast delivery ..."
"UPDATE: After my dad called them Monday, the new card should arrive this Friday and I shipped the old card back yesterday.
Update #2: New card came today, had minor issues, but Brian from tech support helped me out. I called as soon as I got those dreaded 4 beeps of doom. This card is HUGE barely fits in the tower! But it's working and that's all that matters. And it should stay that way.
So my dad got me a computer from AllPCZone for my birthday that would be used for my school work. Due to the 4th of July holiday shipping was delayed a little. When I received the computer a week later and hooked it up to my monitor, it said it wasn't receiving a signal. After a few hours of troubleshooting, I found out the gfx card wasn't connected to the psu. No biggie. So after I plugged it in I had some issues installing my version of Win7. After I got passed that I installed the drivers for the gfx card. When it restarted, I would go to IE and it would reboot instantly. While in safe mode I installed the updated version of the Catalyst drivers. Then the computer would blue screen on start up. It wouldn't work until I went into safe mode and uninstalled them.
After hours of researching the symptoms on the internet I found out that AMD's Catalyst 11.6 can cause blue screen. So I downgraded and the same thing happened. This all happened over the weekend so I could not get in contact with AllPCZone OR AMD. After more researched I figured the gfx card was faulty. On monday I got a response from APZ's tech support. The guy said it could be monitor incompatibility or a lemon card. He suggested I try other cables. I hooked the monitor and tower via DVI cable, same thing happened. I tried HDMI with the TV, TV got little to no signal.
I called tech support Tuesday and talked to a guy named Edward. He said to send him a picture of the card with the serial number and he would give me a shipping label so I could send the gfx card back and get a fresh one from the manufacturer. That never happened. I called Wednesday and a guy named Brian told me that I will be notified when I'd get the label and that it's a quick process that should have already been done. The only thing I got was an email asking for a confirmation on my shipping address. Thursday, I called again asking what was going on, same thing happened. It' Friday and still no email, no calls nothing. I tried calling them again but was put on hold and stayed on hold.
After about 7min of classical music, I hung up. After all this my father and I have decided to just refund the entire computer. I shouldn't have to call everyday asking for updates.
All I wanted was a good computer that I could use for school... :( "
"GREAT PC !!! I would Purchase From ALLPCZONE AGAIN & AGAIN ! "
"nice pc and was shipped well"
"Friendly service. Very helpful. Took my order, offered a few suggestions, didn't waste my time. Computer delivered ahead of schedule. Definitely buy from them again. Thanks for a great product."
"Great value and I checked. Build / Shipping was so quick I didn't even have time to change my mind about a piece of hardware. I have ordered 5 machines from these guys and counting...."
"All in all, i had a very positive experience with computerLX.com. The prices are extremely good, and the customer service was equally as impressive.
When i made my order, i got an e-mail a couple days later (it was a holiday weekend, i'm sure any other time it would have been more prompt) suggesting that i upgrade my choice of power supply due to the graphics card i selected. That to me is a sign of a company caring about the product they deliver to you.
When i received my computer (only 3 days after shipment...and that shipping was free!) i quickly saw that everything was thoughtfully packed. I had a camera next to me just in case of poor packing, but decided no pics were needed. Unfortunately the video card installed on my new pc was DOA. I sent an e-mail explaining the problem (and perhaps, in my annoyance may have suggested that my pc maybe wasn't put through their 48 hour testing period), and promptly received a return e-mail stating that it was tested and was working fine before shipment, but agreed to replace the card. There was none of that "well what did you do the card?" nonsense, they did not try to stick me with a dead graphics card. no questions asked they agreed to replacement, paying for the return shipping and all. That is quality customer service.
I was like you. I came here because i was looking for reviews from real customers because i didn't want to give my money scam artists. With these small companies, its true, you never know what you're going to get. But with the big companies, you know exactly what you're getting: low end power supplies, inferior components, tons of crapware that pushes your booting time past the 5 minute mark. I took what i felt was gamble, and it paid off. I would certainly buy from them again, and I think you should put your hesitations aside and choose them. You deal with real people who are concerned about the overall configuration of your pc, helping you get exactly what you want out of it.
my one complaint is a minor one: there was no confirmation e-mail that my replacement video card had shipped. Came home and there it was. Would have been nice to know when i should have expected it so i wasn't paranoid that maybe it got stolen off my doorstep while was at work. But i'm not even going to knock off a star for that, because i want you to purchase from them. You'll be saving yourself some money and dealing with employees who know what you want out of your build and will treat like something more then a small portion of their nightly bank deposit."
"After years of using Dell, I have opted to go with a whitebox company for my newest computer build, for various reasons. I looked into building my own computer and found that computerlx.com can build your computer at a small additional cost over building it yourself. The plus side is that you have choices on all of the hardware installed, unlike the big guys, so you can tweak the machine to fit your needs exactly.
The machine arrived in one week after ordering it, well packed. I hooked it up, turned it on and started running it. I had a problem with the BIOS because the ram I had installed is overclocked. I called AllPCZone and they resolved the situation very quickly, no problems since.
The overall shopping experience was very good, they even offered to setup a Raid 0 or 1 setting for me. The computer build seems to be very good and I imagine if I have any problems with the hardware down the road it will be due to the manufacturers cutting back on their quality control (read reviews on Newegg about parts). The real question with any company is 'how is their customer service after the product is purchased?'
As of now I do not need any further assistance an hope that I will not need any. I did opt for the extended warranty. So far, I am very happy."
"I ordered one of the systems on their website with a few upgrades. The price was great. I couldn’t have built the pc myself for cheaper. I received the pc on 6/22, less than a week from when I ordered it, so shipping was very fast. The pc booted right up and it seemed to be running beautifully. The OS and all the drivers were up to date. The inside of the case was very neat and organized. I discovered a bit later that the front USB ports didn’t seem to be working. As it turned out, the cable from the front USB ports had been wrongly attached to the firewire port on the motherboard. Everything I’d plugged into the front USB ports (almost $300 worth of devices) had been fried.
After talking to tech support and plugging the USB cable into the correct port, the pc is now running perfectly. As far as compensating me for my toasted devices, the company immediately shipped out replacements for a flash drive and an optical mouse. For the other 2 devices, an external hard drive and a video recording device, which were still under warranty, the company contacted their respective manufacturers and obtained RMAs for their repair or replacement.
Everyone I have interacted with at the company has been friendly and professional. Almost a month later, my new PC is running great. I am totally pleased that I ordered from ComputerLX.com.
