"I purchased an entire system with all of the bells & whistles. Before making the trip to Computer Buyers I priced each piece online through various price search engines... the end result was some parts would have been cheaper online but the whole system together worked out to be slightly cheaper than online and I got all of the parts from 1 vendor and there was no waiting for the UPS guy! I have never considered myself to be a hardware expert but the sales person(s) I dealt with all seemed to be up to speed on the current hardware and although they had varying opinions (which I suspect is normal) they handled my sale professionally and I will purchase from them again.

"Conspiring, crafty, crooked, cunning, deceitful, devious sales tactics. They do not care about anything except taking your money and providing no service after the fact.
Regardless of what there propaganda policies say. Everything carries a "tail lights" warranty, meaning the second your tail lights leaves the parking lot the crap you bought is yours.
Take my advice and steer clear of these vultures. You are better off buying from a random merchant at www.pricewatch.com. Sure you are equally likely to get screwed. But at least you will only pay half as much for being violated.

"I don't care what anybody says about this Computer Company! I have been buying from them for more than 8 years. I have nothing but respect for them. Yes, there prices are a little bit higher, but you get service that you can't find any where else these days. I normally buy from a young lady at the counter. She does a great job helping me, and I know that if I need something ordered special for me that Mike can usually have it within a few days.
I know I won't buy my hardware anywhere else..

Personal comment....
This Jason guy seems really upset. For a "professional developer who's been around this area for 7 YEARS" you don't talk like one. Normally disscusion boards like this don't get positive comments. Just because I've had a positive expierence with CBW doesn't give you the right to bash my opinion. it appears that they had bent the store policy to help you out. In return you have gone on a rampage with CBW and people like myself. "
" I speak here as a satisfied customer and would not want to be misread as Computer Buyers Warehouse. I have done business here for some time and plan to do so in the future. My experience with customer service has always been good and I would just like to give the company a good review from my end. "
"What a joke.
Went into their actual store 3 days ago to purchase a motherboard for a new system I'm building.
I purchased the MICROSTAR K7N2DELTA-L motherboard and a AMD Barton 2500 processor. The sales tech ensured me that I could purchase an addon board that would give me SPDIF out for the audio to get DD 5.1 sound, which was one of my requirements. Well it turns out he was wrong.
I also purchased a set of speakers (discounted), a processor and ram.
The motherboard box was missing a part and so were the speakers. I attempted to return the motherboard because I needed the DD out that it could not support. I was told they could not take it back because a diagnostic board was missing. The board was not in the box and my problems began. CBW eventually refunded me my money after I wrote a scathing review on this site.
UPDATE:
While the 2 recently registered users (both on the same day.. hmmm) seem to think I'm a "liar" (lol, whatever) the simple fact of the matter is that I was treated quite poorly until I posted this review.
The part has been found btw. When I purchased the board a co-worker bought the same board. He began building his system this past weekend and what do you know his box had TWO diagnostic boards inside. Doh!!
So who's the idiot? Not me I'm afraid.
Regardless of the outcome of my problems I still stand by my statement that the customer service I received was lame at best.
It's true I was told the motherboard could receive an add on card it never could.
It's a fact the person I spoke with told me the manager was too busy to talk with me (which is a flat out bs).
Their store policy is clearly flawed on returns. If you make a purchase, leave the store, then attempt to return the item due to missing parts you will have a major headache and most likely won't be given the time of day.
It's a fact that speakers I purchased had a missing leg that supports one of the rears. Since I didn't need it I didn't bother to attempt to return them for the reasons stated above. The box was sealed btw, the speakers were demos so I can understand how the leg was missing.
I don't blame CBW for jumping on this site and claiming I'm an idiot. However, does it make sense that I went to this effort for the hell of it? Nope.
I would have been happy to edit the entire post, leave it blank. But now that CBW has chosen to bad mouth me I think I'll leave my review relative to how I was treated and comments about my other purchase that had missing parts.
I'm a professional developer who's been around this area for 7 YEARS. I am entrenched in the local software industry. Through my recent discussions with friends about this problem I've encountered others who have had bad experiences dealing with them as well. I think I'll encourage them to write their stories as well.
CBW has chosen to start verbally bashing me rather then admit they could have made a mistake. Well 50% of what I brought home was missing parts.
I'm sure there are plenty of people who have had good experiences there. If you're a satisfied customer then why would you have a problem? Duh. It's when you have a problem with their service that you begin to see their true colors. When you write a review about their mistake and they choose to attempt to discredit you that their true colors show.
How unprofessional... But I'm not surprised.
Jason"
