"Will refund half of your order without notice. This happened to me so regularly I stopped buying from them. If you don't want to sell cards don't be a card store, it's that simple."
"Other than having some off and on problems with getting a reply to a general query, I have had only good experiences with Cool Stuff. The have been easy to work with, pack well and the prices are competitive if not superior. Have been cutting down on my ordering lately but it's time again ..."
"You would figure that if a customer spending hundreds of dollars threw your site received a bad card you would fix a small 2 dollar problem especially when its your fault. The card i bought was marked on the site as near meant and came damaged. I asked for a replacement even suggested that I keep the card and they just refund me enough so i'm only paying for the played card price and gave a picture to prove what i received. after that no response and no fix for two weeks. If this is how you treat your customers I will spend the hundreds of dollars on my items somewhere else regardless of the deals they have its the principle and the way you treat people who buy your product."
"I recently bought a large quantity of grab bag cards, and a couple of specific singles. I ordered a few different types of grab bags, with 2 of most of them. The grab bags contained mostly low price/useless rare cards. I expected that to a degree, but the frustrating part is that each of my "Instant collection" Grab bags contained almost the exact same cards. (Common cards had almost the same cards, and the 10 rare+ cards ended up being 8 of the same for each of them.) Going through and checking all of the total rares that I got (Over 200), it seemed less random and more calculated to get rid of low price cards. I had runs of an entire set, with anything useful or worth something removed. All and all with the grab bags, I wish I had just spent my money on singles or packs, and would not advise anyone to by their "random" sets.
The two singles that I bought also had issues. Both of them were missing from my initial shipment. They resent me one of them, and refunded me the cost of the other. This upset me because the price of the card tripled in price after that, and I had to pay well more than I wanted to get it. (From a different vendor.)
Card quality was mostly good, with a few bad cards.
All and all, I would recommend using Ebay or Troll and Toad for singles/lots. You can get a better price, and I have had no issues with them since I started using them instead of CSI."
"I am always nervous about a pre-order, especially when the release date isn't firm. I was ordering from CoolStuffInc for the first time and was even more nervous because the pre-order item was significantly discounted and would not be available until after Pay-pal's usual dispute resolution time frame was expired so I was concerned it might be sketchy (ordered 9/12/17, shipped 1/31/18). My fears were unfounded.
The shipping was through a relatively slow method but I chose the inexpensive route so I can't complain. I got a notification when my order shipped and was able to track it.
My items arrive complete and well packed, and I got them for a great price. I will be happy to order again. "
"So I ordered a lot of dnd miniatures. One of them shipped accidentally broken. Cool stuff, after I emailed them and spoke to kind hearted people, shipped me a new one with no hassle! Thank You Cool Stuff Inc!"
"I placed an online order for store pickup, not realizing it wouldn't be delivererd in time for Christmas, I opted to drive to their main store with the warehouse. I inadvertently forgot my picture ID, however I had the confirmation email, and a copy of my picture ID on my phone. The manager refused to let me pick up my order, wouldn't even look at my confirmation email or seek other methods of verification, he insisting I would need to make the hour trip back home and the hour trip back. This was done with a less than pleasant tone, when I asked to speak with a manager he informed me he was the manager and there was no other option. I ended up paying for the game in cash and requesting a refund via email, that was processed quickly. I am giving three stars due to his lack of customer service and unwillingness to be even the least bit helpful. I will say at the Waterford location and the rep at the Maitland location (where the warehouse is located) who helped me make the cash purchase were excellent. The manager at the Maitland location though needs some customer service training! "
"I really don't understand the bad reviews here. CSI is HIGHLY regarded in the board game community as one of the top-tier merchants. Their prices are frequently the lowest available on the Internet (even beating Amazon). I've placed almost 20 orders with them over the years, and every single delivery has been quick and accurate - no missing or damaged items. I've not had to deal with customer service myself, but I've heard good things.
A lot of people get upset about the pre-order policy - if your order contains a pre-order item, nothing in the order ships until the pre-order items are available. This is clearly spelled out when you place the order (you even have to tick a box acknowledging that you understand), but some people still seem to ignore it and get upset. I don't think this is an unfair policy. But if you don't like it, pre-order somewhere else.
CSI is a phenomenal merchant. Many of the reviews here look like they're for a different company altogether. "
"Never received my item, coming up to almost at least 6 months that I ordered it for my nieces birthday I May. Sent several emails, never received a response. The last email I sent , get the following response:“Recipient address: ****@****
Reason: unable to deliver this message after 2 days” Undeliverable REALLY”"
"I don't know where to begin. So, the shipping takes forever, and in my case they not only took forever but they sent it to the wrong address. When I emailed them to tell them the shipping label showed it never shipping they told me to contact FedEx... FedEx can't help when they never picked up the package!!! Then they finally found out they shipped it to my friend (an address I had on file 2 states away). I asked them to either ship the package or refund me. They offered to refund the shipping from AZ to CO WITH A GIFT CERTIFICATE. Why would I inconvenience my friend, wait longer for my package and still want to give this company my money. Terrible. Never again. If you want your package some time this century don't bother with Coolstuffinc. "
" I appreciate that they called to verify my purchase because the billing & shipping address we're different. That means they're watching out for thier customers. The interaction with them was professional & pleasant. The item arrived in a timely manner & in great condition. They regularly have sales on par with Amazon.
I'd made an attempted purchased on board game geek.com prior to shopping here. My experience with that seller insured that I will never do business on that site again. Maybe my appreciation of this site stems from how horrible that experience was. Coolstuffinc, thank you for making things easy and thank you for treating me like a valued customer. You have earned my future business.
Also to be clear, I didn't try to trade anything in. I just bought a game. I do see that thier trade in rate is only 25%, if someone is looking to get a better rate check if you have a local board gaming convention that does board game flea markets or even the market on Facebook. Good luck & happy gaming."
"I ordered the NEW edition of a board game, they sent me a copy of the first edition. There are two editions of this game, new should mean second edition. They refuse to reimburse me for return shipping, even with store credit. I will not be doing business with them again as there are other retailers with better customer service."
"I placed an order Monday, the day after hurricane Irma, and my order still shipped right on time. I honestly expected a week delay on shipping, but they haven't missed a beat since the hurricane. I'm very impressed. Glad you all weathered the storm so well."
"For some reason my most recent package was handed off to USPS from FedEx. USPS made a mistake and in the end I had to pay an attentional 11.90 in shipping. CSI was totally dismissive of my case and instead of giving me 12 they ignored me. I spent 1500.00 in less than a year... a penny wise a dollar dumb. Now I'll never deal with again. They're great unless you have an issue. At this point the damage is done and a simple credit won't fix the issue. "
"I've tried several services for selling trading cards now and this was the fastest and least hassle. The website doesn't differentiate between all the different rarities of the same cards, but in some cases that means higher payouts for the same card than other websites. Other websites are really picky about the state of the cards and will cut what they said they would pay. Cool Stuff paid me full price for cards that were just barely "Near Mint." There are very few bad reviews here, but they show up at the top for some reason. Look at the good reviews too!"
