Corel...you make it complicated

"Pursched a RX10M4 package that included the Photo Video Art Suite. This was an expensive camera and considered the software a bonus. I downloaded all 5...Paint shop prox9 Video Studio X9 After shot Pro 3 and Painter Essentials 5. I was given a sheet with the download instructions and the 4 serial numbers. Guess what every number is invalid. I have called them 4 times this month. Always they say Tech support will get back to you in 24 hours. I must have spelled my email address 6 times and they always used this as the excuse why they didn't get back to me. Finally yesterday I get a email...with a link and was told to uninstall the Corel software ...,.,ok.. Guess what invalid install number. I sent an email off to Androrama and let them handle it.... Corel is outsourced to the Phillipines.. and they have about zero customer service. Their reps on the phone are lazy and cannot communicate. They do not even try.

"Just a word of caution about the Corel Corporation's store. A month ago I made a purchase from them from a direct email advertisement. It had been a while since I had made a purchase from them so I had to correct the address. I corrected the Billing address and checked that the Shipping address was the same. Weeks went by and no software. I went to my on-line account and saw that the order had been processed, called their "Customer Service" department to get a tracking number and called FedEX which told me that the package had actually been delivered to my front door, NOT. I asked them to what address had it been delivered and was told the old address that I had corrected. I again called "Customer Service" and told them what had happened and the individual "corrected it for me" and shipped another package. Weeks went by, so I again called "Customer Service" to get a tracking number and called FedEX, again it was shipped to the old address. Back to "Customer Service" and I come to find out that both the Billing and the Shipping address had been changed to the old address. I wasn't sure where they were still coming up with the old address, but they were. Last Thursday I AGAIN called "Customer Service" and was put on hold so they could check with Shipping. When he came back on the phone I was told that a third package was sent FedEX ground and that I should have it by that Friday. The following Monday, still no package. AGAIN, "Customer Service" to obtain the tracking number. AGAIN, it was shipped to the old address, which by the way is a vacant house. I called their "Customer Service" department AGAIN and was put on hold two times for over 15 minutes both times after asking to talk to a supervisor. I'm waiting. Their software isn't bad, but beware of their Order, Shipping and Customer Service departments..."

"What in the world is Corel thinking by forcing file associations?

This is 2012, and in case you don't realize it, Corel, people don't tolerate that very well anymore.

Do a search for Corel file associations, and you'll find that it is happening across their programs. So it's obviously being done with specific intent.
I emailed them, and the mail bounced. You apparently can't email them, you have to call them.
Nevermind that you might actually you know, work for a living. No, you have to call them.

Whether or not they fix this, it's the last Corel product that will ever make it to one of my computers.

"Downloaded VideoStudio 11 trial, liked it bought it, bought new PC and tried to put it on there, no activation code, called Corel, told me that without the email, I could not get code, who keeps an email for over three months.
AVOID, cutomer service is awful!!!

"I wanted to order a full version of Paint Shop Pro and I found version X (10) on sale at the Corel website. In deciding whether or not to order from them, I looked at their order processing and shipping timetable given prior to checkout. I was ordering on a Sunday (Easter Sunday) and their website advised that orders placed on Saturdays and Sundays would process and ship on the next business day (which would be Monday) and that any order placed on a weekday business day before 3:00 pm would be processed that day. It did not mention any exceptions for this particular Sunday being Easter. I placed my order and selected DHL 2nd Day Business (2 to 3 business days guarantee), paying extra for this so that I could be assured I would get the software during the coming week.

I checked my order status online Monday evening and even though my card was debited for the full order amount at the time I placed the order on Sunday, my order was shown as 'processing'. I was concerned because, according to the information provided at the time of order, my order should have already been processed. The next day, Tuesday, my order was still shown as processing so I called the 800-number to find out if they could tell me when my order was going to ship. I paid for 2nd day Air for a reason and a delay in shipping beyond what their website said at order time might mean I wouldn't get my order this week. I managed to speak to a nice man who told me that they had been closed the Friday before Easter (not mentioned on the website) and that would delay the processing of my order. I expressed my concern that I had paid extra for 2nd Day Air and I wouldn't get the order in a timely manner and he said that it should ship that day and to check the order status online later in the day.

On Wednesday midday, I checked the order status online (to see if there was a tracking number since I had received no e-mails from them telling me anything was shipped) and it still showed 'processing'. I was a tad upset. I called again and this time got a young man named Adam. He told me that the order had already shipped and gave me the DHL tracking number. When I checked the number with DHL, I discovered that (without telling me) they upgraded my shipping to Next Day Air guaranteed delivery by 3:00 pm and that the order was on the truck for local delivery. 30 minutes later, DHL arrived.

So, I got my order around the earliest time that I had expected it when I placed the order with them but I was a little disappointed that (1) even after I had received the item that checking the order status online still showed it as 'processing' and (2) that I didn't receive an e-mail with tracking number when the item shipped. Overall, I was very happy but I was disappointed that I had to go to all of the effort to be kept abreast of my order when, with today's technology, that shouldn't be.
