"I placed an order with Cost Central for a product. The product description was clearly labeled with exact information as well as model #. I received a order confirmation stating the same. The day the order was to be delivered I received an invoice stating another product with a different model#. I called Cost Central/Erie Computer and they told me that there was a computer error on their sysytem. I never recieved a call of this error and only found out of the error after I made contact. Their Customer service made no attempt to satisfy the order just offer a refund. No compenation for wasting my time for their error. The manager spoke to me as if I were insignificant and that I have to accept their method of resolving their mistake. If I make a mistake I have to work overtime on my dime to correct. Apparently Cost Central/ Erie Computer is not responsible for making mistakes. The customer is."

"Sixty one (61) days. That is how long CostCentral has taken to resolve issues with an order placed on Thursday, October 6th, 2011 for 3 items (HP ZR24w, Lenovo Thinkpad X220 and ThinkPad T520).
As a preface, a real-time inventory system is pointless if there is a "24-72 hour window to fulfill orders" according to 'John/Jon' at CostCentral. It also doesn't help that tracking information is sent 24-36 hours after the package ships. I often receive items from CostCentral hours before I get a tracking number because of my close proximity to one of their warehouses. This is a double edged sword. If there's a delay in the order it could take days to straighten out due to slow communication on CostCentral's part. When I placed my initial order there were nineteen (19) Lenovo ThinkPad X220s in stock. On Friday, Oct. 7th 'Shelley' contacts me via email that the ThinkPad X220 is out of stock. By noon the same day, I send a reply for her to proceed with the remaining order minus the X220. Shelley never sends a confirmation, nothing is processed and the order sits until I call the following Monday. Though I did get an automated email from CostCentral reminding me every single day from Friday through Monday with the subject line 'ACTION REQUIRED!', despite them being closed on the weekends. The situation was a bit aggravating but that is not the reason why I am writing this review as it does get worse.
On Monday the 10th, I place a separate order for a Lenovo T420 in lieu of the out of stock X220. I mistakenly choose FedEx ground shipping when going through check out but called CostCentral soon afterwards to ask if they could expedite the order to ship the same day. 'Matt' explained that if I upgrade to Overnight Shipping that he would *GUARANTEE* that the package would arrive the next day. Now remember that I normally receive FedEx Ground packages from them within 24 hours. The only reason I paid $40 for Overnight (PM Arrival) shipping was because I needed that laptop the next day. 36 hours later, I call up to find that not only has the order not shipped but the paper work hasn't even been processed. Thanks CostCentral!
On Tuesday the 11th, the HP ZR24w and Lenovo ThinkPad T520 ship. The next morning, Wednesday the 12th, FedEx delivers the packages and I check the contents. Instead of a HP ZR24w monitor, there are three boxes of HP branded Laser Toner, all Magenta colored. What?!? The packing list in the box states "1 x HP ZR24w". I call up CostCentral again and speak with 'Stacey' in the returns department about A) Where is the T420 that I requested to be shipped Overnight B) How soon can you ship me the HP ZR24w?
Now here is the difference between good service and bad service. If you mistakenly send the wrong product and you know the customer is under a time constraint then you should offer to Overnight the replacement to meet the deadline. Instead, it was explained to me that the earliest a replacement HP ZR24w could be sent out would be either Monday or Tuesday (10/18, 10/19) of next week. I decided to cut my losses, requested a pre-paid return shipping label and placed an order with Newegg for the HP ZR24w. In contrast to CostCentral, Newegg processed the order in 6 minutes, the product left their warehouse within 4 hours and I had the HPZR24w in my hands within 18 hours (FedEx Overnight Shipping). THAT is how you do business.
Now the 3 boxes of HP Toner that came instead of the HP Monitor I ordered were sent back and arrived at their warehouse on November 4th. A refund is suppose to be issued within 14 days but apparently my order fell into another temporal rift. I sent 'Stacy' two emails (Nov. 22nd and 28th) inquiring the status of the return and had absolutely no response. If she was out of the office for over a week, then she should have set up an autoreply. If she left the company then someone else should have been monitoring her inbox. I called CostCentral on Nov. 29th and spoke once again with 'Matt' who said that I should see a reimbursement on my card within 2-3 days. Seven days pass and as a last resort on December 6th, I contact my credit card company to request a Chargeback.
I have records to verify all of the above statements. I would like CostCentral to post a step-by-step explanation here on ResellerRatings as to how this order was so thoroughly screwed up, starting with the initial placement, to the shipping, to the return and all the way up to and including the refund. I have spent 8 weeks over 3 separate email conversations with 2 hours and 45 minutes on the phone to sort this out. A customer should not have to waste this much time hounding a company to correct these problems. There is no reason why a refund should take 30+ days to process especially after speaking with a CSR. I've demonstrated more than enough patience with CostCentral and used a Chargeback only when my other options were fully exhausted. Though if there is one mistake that I admit to making, it is this: I ordered from CostCentral."
