"Purchased a costume and accessories online from Costume Discounters on 9/28. I used Paypal. I spent $75 to get the free shipping. The total amount of the purchase was withdrawn from my account on the same day. We received a partial fulfillment of the order on 10/7. I called to find out when the rest of my order would arrive only to be informed that the remainder of my order (which happened to be the main costume, what good are the accessories without the costume?) was cancelled because it was out of stock. I was not notified of the cancellation and I was charged the full amount plus a shipping fee. "
"I ordered a costume for my 3 year old for 28.95 weeks before Halloween. They charged me 48.75 for overnight shipping which I did not authorize. I contacted them immediately, they would not cancel the order, would not let me speak to a "supervisor", and hung up on me.
I currently filed a dispute with PayPal, the money was deducted and did not receive my package. They were unprofessional, unapologetic and I'm sorry I ever found them online. Now I see the many terrible reviews and I wish I had read these prior to ordering. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM"
"Ordered a costume from them for my THREE YEAR OLD, who is now really hoping we can find the same costume in time for Halloween! They told me my credit card had been declined and it's a damn good thing I checked because it was most definitely NOT DECLINED. I called them and sent them MANY emails. Even screenshots showing the money was taken out and they still try to tell me to try re order from them that I needed to try my credit card again, after I've already paid them once for no costume! This website is a freaking joke, how someone can do that to a three year old is beyond me!! NEVER BUY FROM THEM! THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER!!! "
"I ordered on 10/4, anticipating a costume party on 10/18. After not receiving my order by 10/14, I checked the status and was shocked to see the order was cancelled. After contacting them, I was told they only communicate with orders that have been shipped or back-ordered. When I noted that I would be reviewing the company, I was given a "fair warning" that "they decide what reviews get posted," so that I was obviously wasting my time."
"Costume Discounters has an incredibly large selection of costumes, not just for girls. There is something for everyone whether you’re 1 or 100. They also sell this adorable Sleeping Beauty costume that I got for my little one. I do have to admit, it was a super hard decision to make. Roughly ninety percent of what I saw on the website, I knew would be a hit with my daughter. I’m really glad I decided the Sleeping Beauty costume would be the best choice. She loves the princess dress, and I love the quality of the costume. Most costumes I can find locally are made extremely cheaply, but this one is made to withstand some wear."

I did, they said I was a winner in their monthly survey contest, sent me a small check for participating, then froze/blocked the account the check was written on. I have contacted Jim Moore, Marketing Director every day for the last three days, to no avail. He will not answer his phone, nor return my call."
"Do not buy from this company. Their costumes are cheap and the sizes are incorrect. I received my order, however was unable to pick it up as I have been very ill. When I was able to finally get the item and try it on, one of the items was broken, another the seaming falling apart, and one didn't fit. When I called beyond the 10 days, one salesperson was rude and the supervisor would not exchange the one item for a different size. Do not buy from them - they are cheap. Not worth the hassle."
"I first brought several costumes for a 70's Halloween party then I realize that each costume is unique. I have brought many costumes from Costume Discounters since and have not been disappointed. The costumes are not just for Halloween they can also be use for role play with a spouse/partner or a play. You can dress them up with accessories, thigh high boots, pumps, petticoat, etc.. Also Costume Discounters also have costumes for children. The adult costumes are very tasteful but you can make them naughty. And the prices are very reasonable. "
"Got this for my grandson who is into the Zelda games. It looks just link the Link character. He said it was the best Christmas present he got. It was good quality and well made. He wore it to Comic Con and had people stop him to take his picture. "I first came across them through living social pay $15 for $30. I originally pre-order 10-11-14 and my discount was applied then I'm informed my costume isn't available so I have to place new order 10-15-14. But I had to pay full price with my cc because since my LS coupon was applied already I couldn't use it anymore. I was informed that after my payment was confirmed I would then receive my cash refund. I called 2 wks later I was told by CR that my refund was applied, but that maybe it was my bank that still had not processed my refund. Waited another wk called my bank to ask about any pending transactions that I could no see on my end. My bank stated nothing pending on my acc. Called DC back day later I was told it was taking longer they usual to process this ok no prob another 5-7 bussines days! Called back yet again they didn't know what was going on with my issues it would be "escalated" to management for procession and I would receive a call within 24-48hrs. Called again after a week with no call from CD on hold for about 30min was hung up on. Today is 11-17-14 and I've called a total of 5x by now spoke to a Customer rep he wanted to give me the same story about my refund applied and that my call would be escalated. But he "did see that my refund was applied on 11-15-14 but I had to wait AGAIN 5-7 bussineses days!!! Very aggravated by now. I requested to speak to someone to day no more games spoke to "Amy" some manager that didn't even offer an apology and said she wasn't able to send me a confirmation about any of this so I just had to BASICALY wait for my bank to see my refund. And if I wanted I could logg into my acc to see everything about my order! I hung up on this so call manager. I am a full time mother, student and have a full time job.I shop on line all the time due to my bussy schedule. With this company it was and will be First and LAST TIME ever purchasing anything from them. I will never recommend them to anyone. On the other hand I Will be reporting to Living Social and BB! "Im not the type of person to write a review for a company but i feel i had to in this situation. Costume Discounters has the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. I purchased an item for my Halloween costume for my girlfriend for a halloween party. I paid for two day shipping which expected delivery date was October 30, the day of our party. October 30 arrived and my item is nowhere to be found. I'm a very understanding person realize that not everything works out the way its suppose to but now i have to go out of my way and look for a last minute costume for their error. i would have been very satisfied if they had refunded my whole purchase and we would call it even, no harm no foul. but when i called they told me that there is no way for them to compensate me for the 2 day shipping i paid for that DIDNT arrive in 2 days... its just the principal to me. the difference between me being somewhat satisfied and totally unsatisfied was over a shipping fee that i paid for that never made it to me in time for the party as promised. BUYERS BEWARE! DONT USE THEM "

I just spent about 30 minutes on hold to be honored for your low price guarantee only to be told that you will not honor the price at Walmart, even though your policy clearly states the exclusions and Walmart is not one of them! Not only is this low price guarantee dishonest but your prices are also dishonest. The product I wanted shows regular price $49.99 and it shows current price as $39.99. You also advertise an EXTRA 20% off, it does not state that this price reduction has already been taken off of the advertised price until you go to checkout and suddenly the price shows $49.99, not $39.99 as advertised and you are forced to put this 20% off code to get the discount. This company is a FRAUD!! I will make sure EVERYONE is aware of this scam!"
"I have never been so discussed with a company ever! First repersentative told me i qualified for easy prepaid returns policy which was a main concern of mine since i am in canada, so she convinced me it was easy and would not cost me anything extra for ordering out of province...so i ordered. When i got my costume, was not right one. Then i call and the rep says i qualify just print out prepaid label..(sounded easy enought, so i tryed) label would not print, so i called and next rep tells me that i don't qualify for anything i was told before that persauded me to order in the first place. This company lies to you to get your order than rips you off 50$ in shipping and return cost. I was told i would be credited the shipping at first now i am not and its $30 shipping! LIes lies lies, every rep has a different story. I will never ever order from them and will make sure no one in my area does either, i will report this on every social media site i can think of so they don't lie , cheat and steal from someone else trying to enjoy halloween with thier children. "This is the worst custumer service I have ever experienced. I ordered my costume on 10/11/12 and it is now 10/23/12 and I'm still dealing with them. The first problem was the valid coupon code I used did not apply to my order. I called and they stated I would see it in 3-5 business days. I actually received my costume two days after I ordered it, it was a decent quality for the money. HOWEVER, they than placed another hold on my account for the cost of the costume (after I received it!!) and I still didn't receive my credit. The woman said it was their common business practice to put two holds on your account for the order (this makes no sense and I work in banking). I received my credit finally, but only to have them post the second charge to my account! The fourth time I called (there were 54 people ahead of me in the queue), the woman said a computer glitch charged customers twice (so the other customer rep lied to me). I read reviews from last year and apparently they charged people twice last year too!!!!!!! This is not a glitch - they are trying to scam you!!! I now have to wait 5-7 days for my money back and the only thing they offered me for THEIR mistake which took my grocery money was 20% off my next order!! I'M NEVER ORDERING FROM HERE AGAIN! PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS!!!!
