"I had ordered a Halloween prop that arrived quickly, but when batteries were installed, nothing happened. No sound. No movement. I thought it strange that nothing on the shipping invoice or the package label had Costume Hubs name. So I thought I had gotten scammed. I emailed customer service, who responded within 24 hours. They said they would ask their production department. I really thought I would never hear from them again, but the following day, I received another email asking if I could list the damage. I wrote back stating there was no damage, the prop just didn't work. They said they would relay that message to their production department. The next day, (yesterday) I received an email stating they were shipping me a new prop that had been tested and worked properly. My whole experience with them and customer service was very satisfactory. I will buy from them again."
"Wow. Like many others, I wish I had read reviews before purchasing from Costume Hub. I have experienced nothing but stress since doing so. About the only thing that went right with my order was that it arrived in a timely fashion. However, I received the wrong size of the costume I ordered; their website actually has it marked wrong. I ordered a toddler small, which should have been 12 - 24 months according to the sizing chart for that item. I received a toddler small, which the package had marked as a 3 - 4 toddler. I called and spoke to a man (did not catch his name), who said they would issue a full refund including shipping since it was their error. He also said not to bother sending it back, because it would cost them more in shipping than the costume was worth. A week later I had not received the refund and called them back. Spoke to the same guy, he apologized and said the refund did not go through for some reason, but he would fix it and refund the full amount (costume plus shipping). Another week goes by, still no refund, so I call back and get a woman named Sara. Let me say, I have never been treated so rudely by a customer service rep in my life. She immediately became belligerent with me, said there was no record of my previous calls, and also that a refund had already been issued to my bank and if I had not received it, then I would need to contact my bank (she wasn't able to answer why a refund was issued if I supposedly hadn't called previously). She also stated that they would not refund the shipping costs even though it was their error, that it was against their policy to do so, and she would gladly send me a copy of their policy to review if I had any further questions about that. The call went on for at least 20 minutes, at which point she began yelling at me and then hung up. I called back immediately and got voicemail. Called back again and she picked up the phone with a, "LOOK, Mrs. -----" then proceeded to talk over me and would not let me get a word in edgewise, ending with "...and if you have any more questions, you can callback and leave a message or talk to someone else!" then hung up again.
Long story short, I called my bank and opened a claim with them to dispute the charges with the merchant. They did finally end up getting the costume charge refunded, but never got the shipping charges back, however my bank credited the shipping charges themselves and closed the claim.
I will never order from Costume Hub again and warn everyone I know away from this place. Stay away unless you want to become their next unsatisfied customer!"
"I ordered a "Village Wench" costume. Wasn't sure what size I should get, so I called to ask. The rep was very helpful. When the costume came, the colors were a bit brighter than pictured, but the costume was great and the size was perfect.
I saw this costume on another website for $40 more, so I consider Costume Hub's price a bargain. It arrived when promised, and I'm happy with it."
"Ordered a costume for my daughter for a school play. Paid extra for quicker shipping and it did come in a timely manner. Unfortunately, it wasn't the costume I ordered. I called Customer Service - had to call numerous times to get a live person - and felt like she thought I was lying about it. She said I could send it back and she would 'look at it.' Whatever...I know what I ordered and know what I got! Anyway, I returned it and 3 weeks later am still trying to get a refund. Talked to them last week (8/12) and they said it would be credited to my account by the end of the day and here it is 8/16 and stil no credit. Can't get anybody on the phone and an email went unanswered too. I guess if you get what you ordered, all is OK...but if something is wrong, good luck!

"I should have checked the reviews about this company BEFORE purchasing. They are pathetic. I ordered a costume for my son for Halloween/Christmas (since he wanted to be an elf). When we opened the costume, it smelled terribly of a sweat-shop in a 3rd world country. So, I washed it, per washing instructions and the red velvet bled onto the white sleeves. Needless to say, we now had pink sleeves. So, halloween was not so fun for my little guy this year. He didn't seem to care much, and wore it at Christmas to hand out gifts and the trim was coming off and it just look tattered for the 2 times he wore it. In contacting Sara Hughes at Costume Hub, there was nothing she could do. She kept referring me to their policy, which is a load of crap when it's the manufacturer's defect. I hate being ripped off and mentioned to Sara that this was a load of crap, until she HUNG UP on me. How's that for customer service. Pretty pathetic! Groupon offered a coupon for this company and I would beware. READ BEFORE YOU BUY from this company. Just horrible."

"I ordered a Costume from CostumeHUB and had it shipped to Canada (Kitchener, Ontario). According the CostumeHUB website, they claim to pay all duties, taxes, and brokerage fees. They calculate them and charge them to you at checkout. So I was charged $8.12 in duties when I bought the costume. Then when it arrived, I had to pay an additional $23.54 in duties. I contacted Customer Service immediately (on October 25th) via email as their 1-800 number doesn't work from Canada. No response for 5 days. Their response didn't address any of my concerns. I reiterated my concerns and again, the response didn't address anything I had written about or requested of them. Oh, and be prepared to wait days for a response. I think it's intentional, as they hope to push you beyond the "30 day" return policy so they can just ignore you from then on. Ultimately, they have refused to address any of my concerns. They don't even answer my questions. I asked to speak to a manager, and they just ignore the request. CostumeHUB is a very shady company that lies, with NO customer service to speak of. DO NOT EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM."

"I ordered two costumes Order #WOB51593 and while I received them before the promised date 10/25 I received a wrong costume. I ordered a Thing 1 costume and Thing 2 costume but received 2 Thing 1’s. I immediately called and called left messages, emailed and even tried their "live" web chat but could never reach anyone. I tried all week but never got through. This was all started on 10/25 but only just now received a response on 11/3. Still the response I just received was you didn't report the error within 72 hours -WHAT!!! THEY ARE KIDDING Right?? Apparently not. I will NEVER use them again. STAY AWAY unless you want the luck of the draw. I'm sure that sometimes they get it right but their lack of timely help and their very delayed response shows they do not want return customers. "
"I placed my order with next day shipping and never received it on time. They don't work weekends so I had to wait until Monday but I did leave them several messages that they never replied to. The website showed my order as "to be shipped" so I panicked because I had no way to know whether they'd send my package or not and I would have to buy from another place, which is what I did, since it seemed I wasn't getting my package anytime soon and CostumeHub's return policy states you can return any package. The package was delivered late during Monday and I didn't see it until the 25th; I had already placed an order for another costume and had decided to not keep anything they sent me because their customer service is terrible. Sadly, I opened the package because the label didn't state it was from CostumeHub. The sadder part is, it wasn't even the complete order and one of the items was missing. I tried to initiate a return through their website but it wouldn't let me so I tried contacting them and I didn't hear from them until today. They only addressed my initial shipping concerns, claiming their computer shows I placed my order at 7 pm - my order confirmation email clearly states I placed it early in the morning. It's like my other messages were ignored. I hope I can get them to give a return authorization number and get a refund, but their lack of communication makes me think I won't. I plan on filing a complaint with the BBB if that happens. Merely based on their customer service, I strongly advise against buying from this company."

"I ordered a Yoda mask off there site and what I received was not what was pictured.
I would not trust their site, I wrote to tell/complain about my experience and the only thing they did to reply was send me the Fedex shipping label to return the mask. There site claims that customer service is a focus but clearly that is not the case.
I just suggest to anyone that needs to order from them to really read the fine print on what you are ordering. At least they are taking it back.
