"I needed an unusual size monochrome graphics module. The site was easy to navigate and I found several choices. Datasheets are posted with the LCD. Pricing was good. I ordered, the LCD arrived promptly and well packed. I'd definitely use Crystalfontz again."
"The order was shipped promptly and arrived when expected. I haven't seen a bill yet to confirm that the discounts were applied properly but I was told that they would be."
"Fast email response and confirmation of order. Delivery and tracking info automatically sent which was appreciated. Goods arrive in 4 days and were exactly as advertised and expected."
"Nice and easy to do business with. Plus, they followed a special shipping request perfectly.
Only source on the net for long RS-232 DB 9 cables that I could find."
"This is my third order from Crystalfontz. Their products are well-built, nicely engineered, and well-documented. Some products are well worth the money (635 with a 5.25" bracket), but some are overpriced (if you need just the 5/25" bracket for a previously-purchased 635). Shipping is quick and traceable, but not cheap. Crystalfontz hosts a lively discussion forum where people can ask questions about product implementation or share ideas. It's not for the tech-phobic -- these folks lean towards C++/C# coding, which may not be your cup of tea. There are some VB6/VB.NET discussions out there, but you may have to comb through lots of info to find the discussion thread you need. Overall, a good company to order from."
"Nice direct sales of their own products.
Overseas delivery was smooth, except for a minor post delivery paperwork hickup by FedEx. I received the goods here in northern Europe 5 days after ordering online and it could have been just 4 days if I had checked my email a few hours earlier. When shipping overseas Crystalfontz has a policy of manually sending you an e-mail with the shipping cost and then waiting for your OK reply, and that e-mail sat in my inbox for 11 hours before I checked my mail that night.
The Crystalfontz web site claims that they cannot accept credit card payments over $100, but fortunately it seems they don't enforce that rule, at least there was no problem paying for the $136,50 + S&H + VAT item I bought.
Their shipment came in a very oversized "FedEx Medium Box" filled with lots of bubblewrap, an inner cardboard box and more bubblewrap, all wrapped around a nice little gadget smaller than 3 packs of cigarettes stacked end to end. I wonder if the product could have been sent in a bubblewrap lined envelope and just been dropped into my mailbox.
The Crystalfontz product I got seemed OK, but I haven't gotten the rest of my gear up to speed yet, so I really cannot review the product itself.
On a scale from 1 to 10, I would currently give them an 8 or a 9, nothing fancy, just good solid order processing and handling."
"The shipment arrived one day earlier than promised. All was in order. I highly recommend this company."
"Needed to replace unit whose LED's on one side had failed. This unit had been in at least 3 separate computer builds in two different cases. I couldn't remember original date of purchase or find a record of it - it had been a long time. Crystal Fontz offered to replace the old unit with a newer (upgraded from DB9 to USB)version for 50% off, did not charge for the USB to motherboard cable and attached the new LCD to the front panel face at no charge. The service was fast and the product is excellent. I highly recommend Crystal Fontz. Thanks to Tim for all the help."
"Very fast shipment. Website easy to use, checkout easy to use. Great price at the quantities that we needed."
"Excellent product, fast delivery, kept well informed. Very good"
"very pleasant to do business with. Very fast shipping and excellent quality components! Will do business again!"
"items shipped quickly, shipping costs good, arrived from overseas 3 days after placing order"
"Perfect! the service was great, easy to use and the goods arrived quickly as promised."
"Crystalfontz offers excellent "intelligent" LCD displays that are easy to use. It is an enjoyable experience to incorporate the display into embedded systems. Communication with these intelligent LCD displays is via low-speed SPI or UART, and the command syntax is easy to learn. The boot screen of the display can be programmed via a serial cable. Because this cable is a "straight-through" female-to-female RS-232 serial cable, ordering this cable is also recommended; it is available directly from Crystalfontz. This is a great serial display, and I highly recommend it for anyone building an embedded system where some feedback is required for the user."
