"I purchased an acoustic guitar for my son from Cyber City Software.
It arrived poorly packaged and damaged.
When I contacted Cyber City Software they told me to keep the packing and wait for UPS to pick it up as they were filing a claim with them.
When UPS didn't come back to pick up the package I contacted Cyber City again. They told me to send it back to them myself. I did this after contacting UPS and discovering Cyber City Software had not contacted them about the damaged package. It cost me an additional $9.04 to send the package back.
That was 3 weeks ago and Cyber City Software says they can't find the package and haven't returned my money.
This all could have been avoided if the guitar had been appropriately packaged and someone had taked 10 seconds to write "fragile" on the package. Also Cyber City Software should have contacted UPS and had them pick the package up from my home after it arrived damaged.
As far as I'm concerned as soon as Cyber City Software charged my credit card they were done with their obligation. They got their money so they were happy.
I found this company poorly organized and extremely unproffessional. I would NEVER use this company again.
They still have not returned my money."
"They said they definitely didn't get the CDs. I'll have to take their word for it and complain to the shipper. Good thing I shipped it with insurance.
-------------------------------------------------
OK, I wrote them again in good faith. This time they replied and said they never got my returned CDs and asked for a tracking #. Will keep this post updated as the story progresses.
-------------------------------------------------
Ordered a number of software titles at once from this retailer. Two were delivered as nothing more than CDs in a white paper sleeve. One of the titles explicitly stated on its requisite webpage that it was CD only while the other didn't. I wrote them back saying I didn't want either and that I wanted to return both titles.
I emailed them a couple of times to get the correct information so all would go smoothly. I returned the titles per their instructions and waited to see a credit on my credit card. It never came. So I wrote them again stating that I should be issued a credit but I never got one. I didn't get a reply either. "
"As a Canadian consumer, I have had a great deal of trouble placing an order with this company although their website claims to send their products all over the world. I went onto their secure site, filled out the required information and gave them my Mastercard number. An email promptly came back to thank me for the order. The next email said my Mastercard address and my shipping/billing address didn't match and I had to give them the correct address. Having had this card for over 15 years with no problem, I was unable to fathom why there was a problem. Their email said to do the order again, which I did, thinking perhaps I had put in a wrong number. I again received the same email. My rather irate email asked for someone to call me to straighten this out. They indicated a rep would call me in the morning but I was working in the morning and asked them to call in the afternoon. The reply to that email stated "we don't call anyone". In the meantime I called Mastercard myself to verify my information. There was nothing wrong. I emailed Cyber City and told them this and questioned their 'automatic verification system's' ability. I also gave them the 1-800 number that I had used. A subsequent email reamed me out for not being around for the phone call and not previously providing them with the issuer's phone number! No where on the order form was there anything asking for such a number and I have never had to do this with an international order before. Their email ended with the advice that they did, in fact, call the issuer my order was being shipped. No where did they answer an initial question - would this product work on Windows XP. I emailed them to again to ask this question but haven't had a reply yet. Not holding my breath about the order actually arriving or being workable on my computer. This is the first time I've tried to buy software over the Internet and if this is the rigamorol one has to go through, it will be my last!"
"Software items were delivered as
ordered, well packaged. A bit slow
in delivery time (9 business days
from Wisconsin to Illinois). If
speed of delivery was not an issue
I would order again.
