AVOID at all costs.

"AVOID at all costs.

Waiting twice as long as originally agreed (a week extra) and still not received the package.

The muppets at DHL have lost the parcel. Last tracking claims that it arrived at the Airport and was due to arrive at home 6 days ago. However the tracking still claims it us at airport with service unavailable.

DHL are clueless in regards to where the package is. Despite being in the delivery industry for such a long time they still can't deliver and manage simple shipments.

Now I have to wait a week extra for them to conclude their investigation before I can claim my refund.

Really clueless company. Sending parcels through them has a good risk of it being stolen or lost.

Incompetent and Untruthful

"Totally incompetent so I need to stay home another full day to wait for the deliver but even worse, they lied and told me that the driver attempted delivery at a time when I was sitting ony porch and no truck went by, let alone stopped for 2 hours before that time. I can't even trust them to deliver without a signature without lying about it."

DHL international shipping

"I ordered recently something from the USA to Thailand. I received a phone call from DHL asking to submit my passport for three days to create a "paper-less-clearance-something". I am from Germany and would not give out my passport, specially being outside of Germany.
The shipment was returned to shipper. The shipper contacted me and complained about how vague DHL was with them.
Just pathetic. The entire absurd episode took almost a month. What a waste of time. I have to now reorder the goods, obviously I will be using a proper shipping company this time.

"They are a hiorible organization. You need to fight to understand first what is going with the shipment u going to receive and after that u need to fight to make thier different divisions understand what is going and then fight and fight to receive it.
9 days so far not getting my shipment coming from dubai and a lot of lies in every call from the suffering service they have = (customer service)

DHL clerk commit act of racism toward ethnic minority customer - Company condones behavior

"Our father-in-law, an ethnic minority unfamiliar with the process of couriering items, went to DHL to send us two small items. The DHL clerk took complete advantage of the situation, making him believe his only option was an oversized box that, surprise, surprise, cost my father-in-law an exorbitant fee since they charge by box size rather than weight (what was a total of 4 ounces). The box literally cost ten times that of the items being shipped. My father-in-law knew we needed the item so, trusting the clerk, drove home (an hour away) to get enough money to pay the exorbitant pricing he was lead to believe was his only option. My father-in-law would had more than enough to pay for proper (and standard) packaging carried by DHL facilities. He just wasn’t made aware of that.

I filed a complaint and the response was shocking. They refused to open an investigation into my concern of discrimination and said the clerk not only dealt with the customer in a perfectly acceptable manner, but tried to convince me that the customer somehow ‘benefited’ from how he was treated. What?? I don’t know if they think all their customers are idiots or they just simply view irrelevant anyone that isn’t a big business with a big contract with them.

DHL - A clerk committing an act of discrimination by taking advantage of an older, ethnic minority customer unfamiliar with the process is one thing; Company representatives justifying the dishonest act is completely another. Was it worth it? Because I can assure you that customers will be happy to take their business to a company that doesn’t condone discriminating and racist behavior towards paying, and trusting, minority customers.

TERRIBLE SERVICE

"I have been trying to get a hold of a Sales Rep to give me a quote and finalize my business. I has been impossible to contact anybody that can help you, Each time I call, I have to tell the entire story before the contact me with the Sales Rep that manages my account. Once they said the supervisor was going to call me back in 15 mins, which she never did. In order to get a SIMPLE QUOTE, they need verify my billing address, with receipts, I don't even have, since my bills are electronics, and I do not receive paper bills.
I AM VERY UPSET, with their logistics performance.

Absolutely unreliable and horrible customer service

"I booked a DHL express Collection and delivery to Amsterdam with the premium delivery guarantee for pre 9AM. This was for a very important tender in Amsterdam and 11AM was the absolute deadline.
I was convinced that with the premium guarantee and the two hour delay between the delivery time and deadline I could rest assured that this would not fail. However DHL were able to mess this up and they delivered the package at 11:50.. Our disappointment after preparing for days for this tender is obvious but i decided to remain calm and call DHL to at least get the 50 GBP refunded. A friendly lady called Kerry apologised for their failure and committed to refund me for the costs incurred. However, when i received the confirmation email i noted to my surprise the cheapo's at DHL had decided that i would only get the premium cost back which was 18 GBP. Utterly disgraceful and pointless. I told them to keep the 18 GBP and we will not be using their services again.

"DHL holds and delays my package for about a week, then gives it to USPS for delivery.
They have disappointed me several times
This time I ordered a luggage scale off ebay in plenty of time.
But the scale was delivered after my flight departed.
Not the first time DHL has disappointed me
If you have a choice, request another shipping option.

Perverse incentives leads to corrupt Kafkaesque customs release process

"In the last years I've shipped hundreds of packages to my native country of Israel through Airmail and USPS without any unusual difficulties. Sadly I've experienced more trouble, hidden fees and Kafkaesque procedures with the 2 packages I sent through DHL than with all the other packages put together.

The first package went through, a couple of weeks late after more hidden fees totalling more than 100% of the original DHL shipment fees.

I thought that was bad. Then my experience went from bad to worse with the second package. At present the most likely outcome for my DHL package is that it is going to be "liquidated", thrown in the trash or pawned off to recover a percentage of the fees they couldn't extort out of me.

Disgusting. Customer pays DHL to deliver a a package, DHL delivers customers package in a hornet's nest and if the customer can't pull it out the goods eventually go to someone else for a discount. Thieving robbery by any other name.

Besides the wasted money was the time and frustration wasted bouncing emails and phone calls back and forth with DHL reps. When I explained this was the first time I had ever run into so much trouble with a package and asked how they could possibly account for this DHL revealed they have a special arrangement with customs called "individual release".

Thanks to "individual release" arrangement, my second package is now stuck in customs in a bizarre bureaucratic mess that I have never had the displeasure of experiencing before in all of the hundreds of packages I have shipped before. They're asking for forms I didn't even know existed, and after years of online shopping and hundreds of packages I consider myself somewhat of an expert on the customs release process in my country. Meanwhile my involuntary "bill" for storage fees and "help with customs" fees is getting bigger every day. I am so frustrated I am considering just writing off the package and letting them do whatever they want with it rather than allow them to waste any more of my time and rob me of even more money through thinly disguised extortion.

Perhaps my anger is misplaced? Isn't my beef really with customs? No, because DHL purposely engineered this procedure to maximize profits. In Israel other shipping methods such as USPS or Airmail pass through customs using a "collective release" process. This means only a small random sampling of packages are stopped for inspection, and the process for releasing those is relatively straightforward. The same is also true for mail delivered through DHL global mail. Only "express" mail service gets "special" treatment.

DHL's "individual release" arrangement with their customs affiliates guarantees that each and every single "express" package gets "special" treatment that is designed to complicate the process as much as possible. DHL have a perverse incentive to do this because the lengthier and more bureaucratic the process the more the customer pays for DHL's help in negotiating him out of the mess they got him into in the first place. They create the pain, offload responsibility to customs, and then extort the customer to relieve the pain.

"Not a good experience. I ordered Green Vibrance l on October 9, 2015 and paid a very pricey amount for shipping with DHL. Than I received an email saying the product is not available until October 23, 2015. The charge for delivery stayed the same although the guaranteed date was not fulfilled. On October 23, I received a call from DHL who charged me an extra $16 for delivery, claiming this is duty. When I said there is a free trade agreement between the USA and Canada, the story was changed to an extra that DHL charges for their services from the USA to Canada. I order this product for over 2 years now from different companies and never paid an extra shipping to the shipping company. All together I paid $36 for delivery and I still do not have the product. To add insult to injury, I will probably will not get it this week as well since there is not way to arrange time of delivery (they give blocks of the whole day) and to arrange work place delivery you have to wait until the first attempt is made. Never again!

"I had best delivery experience with DHL, the person arrived to my house when i was in college, called me and then arrived to college to deliver the package. The package was in perfect condition, nothing damaged, nothing broken. I'm very please and would definitely recommend this delivery company"

"Recently I had a parcel around 10 kg sent from HK to Australia.Its terrible when I received it.
My parcel was damaged because of bad handling. Some of my things were broken.

"My package was sent to another country and I received no customer service and kept being lied too and given the run around!! Now I have too wait weeks for the package I don't even need anymore . This was a complete nightmare and DHL hardly helped or ever bothered to called me to explain ANYTHING! It's as if nobody cared ! This was not free and I should of been treated better then this . "

"Reçu un paquet de vitamine de 59,36€ (vitamines) des USA avec un extra de 25€ (via iherb.com) Cette pratique est peut-être légal (aucune idée) je la trouve profondément malhonnête. "I have never had a good experience with DHL.
I ordered from Asos, express delivery to Norway. Please note that England and Norway are not that far from each other.
The delivery guy called me to let me know what time he would arrive, he informed me he would be there around noon. So I decided to stay home and wait for him as I was leaving the next day and would not be there.
One hour after he was supposed to be there I called to check and he said he was 30 minutes away. This kept going the whole day until it was 6 pm!!! Only then after waiting the whole day did he inform me that he actually couldn't come after all because the roads were slippery.. which is BS because my family had been out driving the whole day and it was fine, we also offered to meet him half way. But he refused!
I emailed the boss of DHL Norway to which he did not even apologize for wasting my whole day. He said it could be delivered the next day, but only later in the afternoon. I informed him that I had a flight to catch so if they could not deliver max at noon then they should just forget it because no one would be there to accept the package.
They could not care less and of course did not deliver the package in time, I later received a bill from DHL for their service.. what service? they lied about coming to deliver and made me wait at home the whole day for nothing and did not even apologize. If they are not able to deliver their packages in time when a customer has paid express they should at least apologize and not charge the customer!!
I tried DHL express a few days ago, deliver to Singapore. They let me know the package would be delivered late afternoon on March 27th, but it was not delivered before late afternoon the next day.. had it been one hour later it would also have been too late.
Unless I am really desperate to get a product and DHL is the only carrier, I will never use them again!
