"DID NOT RECEIVE THE GLOVES:
As with the other reviews, I would like to warn anyone buying anything from DOTS Gloves. I have tried to contact Dots Gloves many times over the past year, without any result (yes, one email from "Chris", but then nothing). I spent 45 bucks and never got anything. Really bad company."
"My letter to Dots via PayPal claim (still unresolved) because it angers me to write about it again:
Hello Dots,
I have tried on many occasions to email and call you, but there has been no response. The only contact I've had with you is a generic email and your robot voicemail.
I placed an order for two pairs of gloves on 30-Nov-2010. D217 Coal Mens, and D217 Clay Mens. On 16-Dec-2010 I received an email from you indicating that the items were on back order and would not arrive in time for Christmas. The email gave me the option to cancel the order. I decided to retain the order despite having to find alternate gifts.
Late January (or early February), a pair of gloves arrived in the mail (D217 Coal Mens) with a note indicating that the D217 Clay Mens were still on backorder. The note said that I had to specifically email Dots Gloves (****@****) with the subject line: "Retain" and my invoice number, or the item would be refunded. I had chosen two pairs to offset the cost of shipping. I assumed the shipping cost would not get refunded, so I replied to retain my order.
There was no confirmation that my email was received, and no answers to the phone number listed on the website.
As for the pair of gloves that I did receive: They are defective. The fingers of the glove are extremely skinny and short (my pinky finger barely fits in the thumb) and the palms are extremely oversized. The distance from the base of the thumb to the knuckle is more than twice the size of a normal glove. These were the mens size (supposedly larger), and I have smaller than average hands.
I will gladly send pictures to demonstrate the defects.
There are instructions for returns on the website, but having not been able to get a hold of anyone from Dots, I am skeptical of paying the shipping cost to return an item to you.
It is now March. Winter is almost over. I would like two pairs of proper fitting gloves, or I would like my money back.
This is a seasonal product, and despite being three months after ordering, I hope this matter is addressed expeditiously. "
"I, too, bought a pair of gloves from Dots Gloves as a Christmas Gift in December, 2010. I experienced the same frustration and lack of response by this company as has already been expressed in other reviews here (i.e., answering machine in DC, no email responses, etc.), so I won't repeat everything here.
When I failed to get a response from Dots Gloves, I filed a complaint with my Credit Card company, as well as The Better Business Bureau. As it turns out, on the very day that I filed these complaints, the gloves were waiting for me in my mailbox at home.
FWIW, the gloves do perform as advertised, but they are not worth the hassle. I would NOT recommend that anyone ever do business with this outfit."
"December 4th - Bought this glove via paypal
December 17th - Received and answer about overwhelming order and I would not received my glove for christmas [...]
January 12th - I tried to reach again by e-mail and never got answers at this time.
February 11th - Never received my glove, no answers, now I am in the processing of dispute claim with paypal.
Don't buy from dotsglove. "
"DOT Gloves showed up on the radar by using the internet and promoting its product on various known and what now appear to be bogus blog sites about fashion. In its height it made it to certain tech shows and onto spots such as "Rachel Ray", etc. Unknown to these legit companies is that DOT Gloves, LLC had no intention of sending these gloves out to the public during the Christmas season. After purchasing them from the beautiful and simple website at www.dotsgloves.com on December 6th, as a christmas present for my wife, I was informed that it would be shipped shortly.
On December 23rd, 2010, I called to find out that they do not have an actual office. They have a recording in the Washington, D.C. area code that plays a horrible, garbled, digital voice message that says they are suddenly backordered and to contac them by Email only. After sending an email to them I received a copy and pasted message with no name attached that said the following : "Unfortunately your order has yet to be dispatched. We remain backordered 2-3 weeks from now. We will include an additional pair of Dots Gloves free of charge with your order to apologize for our tardiness. Of course if this remains unsatisfactory and you choose not to retain your order, just let us know and we will issue a full refund immediately. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. "
This was all a lie I found out. They never sent the (2) pairs of gloves, nor responded to any Emails since. I have found out that everyone else that bought a pair of gloves got the exact same treatment during the holiday season. The scam is that they are hoping people do not file a dispute with Paypal until AFTER the 45 day hold period and the purchase is finalized.
Luckily I was smarter than that and filed a dispute with PayPal immediately and got my money returned same day. I guess they have been doing this for Dot Gloves, LLC customers for a while. You have been officially warned, DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY."
