"I bought a cable from this merchant that was defective. They did not respond to me for nearly a week to my RMA request despite claiming on their website they respond within 1 business day.

After I emailed them again a week later they finally responded then tried to stonewall my return by asking me to test the item on a bunch of devices that they just assumed I must own before they would allow me to return it.

After going through a lengthy explanation the finally gave me a RMA #. They claimed they charge 10% restocking fee and "reserve the right to increase the charge", and restocking is waived "if their error" which I assume means if the item was defective, which this item clearly was. Well they charged me a 20% restocking fee on my return, I guess they felt insulted I would return a high priced cable. What a bunch of jokers.
