Avoid Days Inn Dumas!

"At check in I was told I had a double queen room. When I informed the clerk I had reserved a king suite she told me I was mistaken. When I tried to show her my confirmation & reservation she refused to look at it. It even had a pic of the king suite I booked. She accused me & hotels.com of making a mistake. She had no desire to try to resolve the situation. She then got on the phone & reported me as being a very upset customer who had booked a queen room & was trying to say I booked a king room. She would not answer any questions. She would not refund my money (again third party problem) my choice was check in or leave. She told me all king rooms were booked, looked outside & parking lot was empty. This must be the new customer service. Kept telling me I booked a queen room & it wasn't her problem. The situation was handled terribly & she tried to escalate it to a bad situation."

Bed Bugs - Corporate refused to listen

"A family member was bitten multiple times by bed bugs. Called corporate right away. Said they would call in the morning, Never did. Called again the next day. Said they would call in a few days. Never did. Was later sent a mail saying they have nothing to do with it because of independent operators. Emailed them multiple times to bring partial satisfaction to the situation. As this incident cost us days and hundreds of dollars. They did not email back. This is the first time I heard of a franchisor taking no action or responsibility. Everyone else does at least a little something to help. They just continued their unprofessional ways of ignoring you."

"VERY DISSATISFIED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!! Days Inn Seguin, Tx. SUCKED big time!! Stayed 3 nights. 1st night called the desk and told him the tv would not change channels. He came in my room and played with the remote for 10 minutes, then handed it to me, shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't know what was up with it and left. I had no heat the entire stay. The second night when I returned to the room was when I noticed the heater was just blowing air like a fan, no heat. There was a pillow on my bed that looked as though it was driven over by a muddy truck tire! Again, had the desk person come into my room, she brought me a clean pillow. I then pointed out that the used coffee filter was still in the coffee maker from that morning and the pot had not been cleaned. I then told her that my tv would not change channels, to which she told me that the tvs were changed over and that she would return to the desk and call me with a code to walk me through reprogramming the remote, which was successful, albeit inconvenient. I also told her the heat was not working and she said maintenance was gone for the night but she would leave a note to fix it. Third night, called to see why the heater was still not working and to tell them the ice bucket had the melted ice and used bag in it still from the night before. I was then offered a new room but seeing that it was really late, I was really tired and was checking out at 7:30 A.M., I declined to pack up all my things and relocate at that time. I did check out the next morning, but I had forgotten my phone charging cord. I called the hotel when I got back home 16 hours later... the desk clerk told me no one turned in my cord. I then described exactly where I left it plugged in, he asked me to give him 45 minutes and call him back, which I did and it magically appeared. When I complained of my stay and how terrible it was, Kayu offered to give me $17.00 back (10% of total before tax), I thought he was joking; he was not. I called corporate demanding my full refund back and all they would do was 50% before tax. So disappointing and a disgusting stay- I guess you get what you pay for! Too bad I don't get more from Social Security, I would have been able to stay in at least a decent place."

"I picked one star because I could not leave the stars blank. On September 25, 2015 I made a late arrival booking in Tucumcari, NM. I paid for my room but did not stay there. I could not believe the pictures on line. The hotel was nothing like the pictures. It was dirty, smelly and there were people hanging around that were scarey. There was no parking except at the KFC next door. Needless to say, I stayed at the Best Western across the street. When I went to return the key, there was no in the office. I was informed by someone she was across the street and would be back in a few. KMD, Peculiar, MO"

"We recently stayed at a Days Inn in Martin, Tenn. We needed a quick repair on our car and the motel attendant helped us find a repairman, and we were able to get the car fixed promptly and without to much expense."
