One Very Happy Camper

"tl;dr - it would have been a huge mistake to let the negative reviews on this site dissuade me from placing my order with Decor Planet…

I needed to order bathroom fixtures for a vary large renovation project - everything very high end (i.e., top of the line Toto). I sent request for proposals to several suppliers - Decor Planet had the best price. My sales rep Todd Bruce was outstanding. Everything arrived on time in perfect condition and in the process I saved a lot of money. I'll definitely buy from Todd again.

Scam

"Decor Planet admittedly sent me the wrong product so I ordered a replacement immediately because it took 8 months for the original to arrive. I then returned the ‘mistake’ in pristine, never installed condition and when my refund never arrived Venice told me I was not getting a refund because the product was ‘used’. The pictures she sent me were not of a used product but of one that had been intentionally and deliberately destroyed by Decor Planet to avoid refunding me for their mistake. This company is unethical and dishonest, avoid at all costs. "

Bad business

"I ordered an 84 inch vanity in gray for a very reasonable price. I was told that all items were in stock at the time of purchase. A few days after purchasing I received an email stating that the items were out of stock and that it would be shipped within a few weeks. I kept receiving emails pushing back the shipping date. Since the shipping date kept being pushed back, we contacted decorplanet to inquire about the same vanity in another color. We were told that this vanity color was in stock. I asked the representative to just switch the color for me to the gray oak colored item that was in stock which she did, however, I did not know that their prices went up which resulted in about a $500 price increase. I asked her if she could honor the previous price, but she stated she could not. Replacement item was shipped out in a reasonable amount of time. However, after receiving the item I noticed one of the cabinets did not match the other two cabinets. I contacted DP and they requested I send pictures. After sending pictures I was advised that they would send a replacement. It would take multiple phone calls over the next few days before I could get a shipping date for the new cabinet. On March 11,22 I received an email advising the item would be shipped by 3/15. As of todays day 4/1, I still have not received the item. I called customer service who advised me that the item is in “status” and that it would be shipped within the next 24-48 hours. I asked how long the item was in status. She advised since 3/16. This is unacceptable since I originally purchased this item in November of 2021 with a delivery day of the first week of January 2022. My contractor started my bathroom February 2022 and it is still not complete due to the incompetence of DP. They had the audacity to charge me more money for an item that I purchased before the price increase but I can’t even get them to ship me the item in a timely manner. Bad business. Never will I order from them again."

Their price is maybe better than others, but please don't buy from Decor planet

"I just had a terrible experience with decorplanet and I am sorry I have purchased product from them. If the item is defective, they won't give you replacement or accept the return. The Toto toilet arrived with broken piece(on the picture) but we found out later when our plumber installed the toilet about 20 days later. I contacted customer service initially just about broken cover, and hoping just replacing the cover, then the seat started not functioning electrically and remote control was not working after 5 days of installation. I contacted immediately the customer service because it was within 30 days of delivery about the item's defect.

This past a week and half I had to deal with their customer service and talked to manager yesterday. They put all the responsibilites on customers and they shifted the responsibilities to the manufacture warranty even though I initiated the process within 30 days. They said you reported too late. Why is it too late to report defect item within 30 days? It is really bad business model. They maybe a little cheaper than other competitors, but buy from the place where it has more reputations and quality of customer service, because you will regret. I am totally regret purchasing from them. You will end up with dispute and despairs.

I talked to the tech department of Toto yesterday and they even agreed 100% that how terrible the decor planet handled the situation about my case.

This is how stated in your company return policy: MANUFACTURING DEFECTS
If the merchandise you receive is found to be defective due to a manufacturing defect, a request for the replacement of the defective merchandise must be made within 30 days of the delivery of your order. DecorPlanet.com will exchange the defective merchandise or a defective part free of charge. Merchandise returned as defective, which is found not to be defective, will be subject to a 15% restocking charge, along with the original and return shipping and handling charges. If a defect occurs after 30 days of delivery, you must contact the manufacturer directly for warranty information. Decorplanet.com will not cover any labor or other costs of removal or installation, nor shall Decorplanet.com be responsible for any other incidental or consequential damages attributable to a product defect or to the repair or exchange of a defective product or part.

I reported the defect of item within 30 days of delivery when I contacted customer service. They delivered item on 1/25 and I reported 2/21. Why is it too late? It does not say that here? It says they exchange the defective merchandise for free of charge. If after 30 days, it is manufacture warranty. It was not after 30 days. They are lying. I even received return authorization and I already packed everything to be shipped after talking to customer service. Why did they send me the return authorization and ordered the replacement and canceled without informing me, Then when I contacted the customer service two days ago, they said you cannot ship the replacement. So why you didn't tell me on 2/21 they cannot honor the replacement and lead me to Toto warranty at that time? It does not make sense. I wasted more than 1 week. I should have read reviews in advance prior to purchase. I read so many people having similar experiences. Because of this defect, even though my bathroom construction was already finished, it is not completed due to the toilet defect. We have to rehire plumber when the repair item arrives from Toto and it will take again for a long time and it will cost us more money because of Decor Planet. This is the worst experience with customer service in my life time.

So please read this review and take it very seriously to deal with this company. I will never forget and forgive what they did to us.

Terrible Return Policy and Experience

"I'm not sure where to begin but i will try to make this an easy read. I purchased 2 items from this website December 2, 2021. We knew there would be delays... and we were ok with that. My first item shipped..... a Franke cutting board. It was too small! so i looked to see how i could return it. PLEASE READ THE RETURN POLICY CAREFULLY before buying anything from this website. 15% restocking fee!!! I reached out to the returns department to get the RMA label they require you to have. I received a response within a few days with this long list of things i needed to do....including pictures of the item and THE BOX... i had already prepared my package so everything was wrapped. I had to open the box again and send pics. I was irritated but the pictures were sent as well as the package, via USPS. They require you to send everything back in the original package, which i did. Once they received my box, they sent me an email stating they could not issue a refund because the board was damaged!!!! Damaged?? yeah you should see the pictures of the damage... i mean there is no way that could have happened in transit considering the board was wrapped in bubble wrap. Also, they failed to send me a picture of the box..... which i find interesting since they requested one before i mailed the package. i requested a picture of the box to show that USPS mishandled the package... of course i was told "its very likely that the box was already smashed by out team"...how ironic!!
My second item was finally shipped i was excited it was the wrong item!!!! they shipped the wrong item. i reached out to them because i was leaving the country and after my first ordeal i did not want to deal with waiting another month for my package i decided to keep the wrong item. They gave me a $25 credit after asking for one because all they said was "we are sorry" the picture was wrong for the item you wanted so needless to say i wont be shopping with this company ever again...

note to self - read reviews before ordering anything through Decor Planet. You in for a ride

"Ordered a bathtub. Got an estimated shipping date. Ok. You cannot rely on the order status through your account on their website. Mine still shows "in production". I called to cancel my order but they told me it shipped already. Order status shows still in production. They gave me a tracking number, but turns out for an entirely different shipment from one of their bath supply partners (Aquatic Bath) - nothing to do with my order. And now they can't give me a status of where my order is. If you miss their very narrow cancellation window regardless of the status of the order, they want to hit you with a 15% restocking fee. I agree with another reviewer, this is predatory. Still waiting to see how this plays out, but my spidey senses are tingling scam business practices here. "

Incorrect shipping times, and predatory cancellation policy

"I ordered an item (a Grohe 19612 Seabury trim kit) with an estimated 2-5 day ship time. Several days later, I received an update that the item had been delayed 3 weeks, which was after I needed the part. I was able to purchase the part locally and wrote to cancel my order.

Even though my order has not shipped (and is not scheduled for a week still), I was told that because they had already placed the order with the vendor it was not possible to cancel, and that I would be charged a 15% restocking fee plus shipping costs.

This seems to be an unreasonable and predatory policy for returns, particularly when claiming to stock out of their warehouse. If the item hasn't shipped to me (and was listed with an erroneous shipping time), a cancellation should be issued no-questions-asked.

Terrible customer service

"I bought expensive faucets and a tub faucet from Decorplanet.com to the tune of $2500 in advance of a bathroom renovation project. They did not bother to contact me to let me know that the faucets had been discontinued. By the time I realized that I hadn't received the items and called them, I had very few choices of other faucets that were available and that I could get in time. I'd spent tens of hours picking the first choice. I had to make repeated calls and worked with 3 customer service agents before I found one who actually helped me find new ones. Then they fired that helpful person. In the meantime, I bought a number of matching and very expensive robe hooks and towel rings. They were all very late in arriving, there were very confusing communications about their shipping, and some were never even sent--again until I called AGAIN and asked where they were. Everything was so delayed that by the time I could install them, I realized that most of the hooks and rings didn't work. When I tried to return them, I got NO response for weeks. I had to make repeated calls to get an RMA number, which I finally got. Then, they refused to waive the 15% restocking fee. Incredible. I would NOT recommend them."

Handling fees and 15% grab on returns

"BUYER, Hi. Be Aware. Do not order from this company unless you are 100% positive that your item is precisely what you expect it will be, sight unseen. Your “free shipping” fees are recouped by the company in handling fees, and there is a 15% grab back on your purchase returns for restocking. Bought an $11 dollar sticker for the “cold” handle on an old school faucet in my bathroom. The company charged 9.99 for “handling”. Turned out that the button sticker was a tad too big for my faucet. In order to return I would have to pay shipping AND send it back in the same oversized box that they sent it to me in. Only after too much back and forth with customer service was I able to get the 15% restocking fee on the button sticker waived. The service of any company can only be dictated by how the company wants to treat it’s clientele. Buyer, beware.
I decided not to return the sticker.
Hey! Does anybody need a little white button that reads “cold” for their old California faucet? I will mail it to you for free, no handling fee. My gift to you.

They claim products are in stock; they are not

"I placed an order based on assurances from their sales department the items I needed were available for immediate shipping. Apparently, that was not the truth. It was one excuse after the next. I had placed a large order and while 8 of the 9 were supposedly in stock when I place my order, a week afterwards when they were scheduled to arrive the story suddenly changed to them not being available for at least 4 more weeks! It took me over an hour to get them to agree to cancel my order and refund my money.

With Ferguson having nearly everything in stock for delivery as early as the next day, there is definitely something which seems very suspicious going on with Decor Planet. I will never even consider buying from them again, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone.

Crystal saved the day!

"We had ordered a new toilet - we splurged and went for one of those fancy ones with a bidet seat - and we found out it arrived damaged, but we found the damage outside of the normal window to report damage. We contacted DecorPlanet and were lucky to get in touch with Crystal in the Customer Service department.

She helped us set up a replacement order ASAP and SAVED THE DAY because the plumber who came to help with the toilet installation accidentally damaged our old (and ONLY) toilet when he was removing it, so we were stuck renting a PortaPotty in the meantime! Needless to say, we were very happy to hear that DecorPlanet was sending a replacement unit.

Bravo Crystal! And thanks to the rest of the crew at DecorPlanet for helping us to get rid of this PortaPotty and upgrade our toilet!

Poor customer handling and shipping

"I purchased a $1k bathroom vanity, after calling to make sure it was in stock. I was told it was. After 1 week of nothing, no emails or tracking, I called back and was told it will be another week or so.

I received the sink first, just the undermount sink, about 2 or 3 weeks after ordering. Then I received an email and a tracking number. After checking the tracking and showing the item was delivered, which it wasn't, found out the item was delivered to the wrong state!

After 6 calls over 2 weeks, finally, someone nice enough named Tatiana was able to get the order retrieved from the wrong address and shipped to me. That took another week and a half, to do, due to scheduling a pick up and delivering. Took a couple months to receive my order, which help up some contractor work, in my home.

The sink looks decent but the hanging hardware is garbage. 4 small thin tabs to hold up a sink, countertop, cabinets and any additional weight placed in from being used . All in all, for the price, especially the headache from this purchase, I'd suggest buying from another company. There are way better businesses. And this wasn't or didn't have anything due to Covid or fulfilment issues. This was all due to handling and lack there of, including giving information to the shipping carriers. Which they stated that info, my address, was wrongly given to them, by DecorPlanet. Atleast, that's what they say.

Horrible customer service that is putting in a lot of effort in proving you are wrong than to solve a problem! Their system has placed a duplicate order, only one confirmation was ever sent out, but they charged me $750 shipping fee to send it back to sender and called me several times to yell at me that it's my fault. They'll go beyond and above their duties to convince the customer they are wrong. Previous reviews just prove that they constantly mess up orders and then blame the customer for it.

I called, I emailed.. they didnt follow up

"Ordered a Sink, the item had some accessories advertised. However, only one of the two things shown were delivered. I called and the girl said that was going to call me back after following up with the manufacturer. I waited several days and nothing. Then I sent an email with the same inquiry, and not even a response.
The sink delivered from the manufacturer. As far as I am concern they just facilitate dropships and have little interest in servicing their customers.
