"I was going to buy a new ceiling fan here. I bought 5 fans 15 years ago & it went well. I chose a fan, put it in my shopping cart & went to pay with PayPal. The shopping cart showed the price of the fan, sales tax & free shipping. When I went to PayPal, the seller was leaving open the option to charge more money. It was below where you click to finish the transaction.

I aborted the transaction & emailed the seller. I asked what else they were planning to charge for since the fan & tax were already shown & free shipping was shown in the cart (& in the item description). They did answer me but it was a non-answer. They said they were forwarding this to a programmer to review. Since they programmed it to do this on purpose, I highly doubt if they are going to change it. I also saw in a review here that they charged on customer $150 for shipping on items for which they offered free shipping.

If you buy from this company, save yourself. Be really careful about giving them your credit card number or carte blanche to charge more money to your PayPal account. "

After installing the one in the study, we found the fan way too noisy for a bedroom and returned it. We were not prepared for a $60 FedEx fee. Could Del Mar not have sent a return label at their rates? Even deducting the postage cost from the refund? Not a very transparent process.

Perhaps fans should advertise decibel levels at different speeds?"

"We spotted the Mink-Aire Flyte ceiling fan at a lighting store and it grabbed us right away. Like so many these days, we went right home and started scouring the web for a better price. We found lot's of these at the much lower price so it was a matter of finding the most reliable on-line vendor. We found reviews of Del Mar here and there and they were generally positive so we pulled the trigger. We placed the order and had the fan in 3 days! It was the right model, right color, it was flawless. It was as good an on-line transaction as one could have, especially for something so pricey. It's hanging from our bedroom ceiling looking and working beautifully!"

"I ordered 7 Casablanca fans complete with controls, blades and light fixtures from Del Mar Designs. After talking to many web retailers, I settled on Del Mar Designs. They appeared to have more knowledge of the product line than other retailers. In retrospect, I made the right choice. Their Sales Person, Ron, was very helpful both before and after the sale. He arranged to have my fans shipped by UPS Freight, rather than UPS or other method. This meant that they were shipped on a pallet. The shipment arrived intact 2 weeks after placing the order. In installed them all myself. Casablanca really makes a quality product, and I can think of no better place to order them from than Del Mar Designs."
